Regardless of how they got the points, 4 from Castagna & 3 from Rushen is fine.

Move the top 5 riding order to:-

1, Fricke 2, Castagna 3, Kvech 4, Harris, 5, Cook,

it will be far more solid

 

Castagna getting 4 is not enough at home … your number 2 should win heat 8 at home and at least get 3 other 3rd places 

If you are happy with your number 6 not beating an opposition rider at home then so be it … makes for a long season 

Rushen is a great young talent but if he is riding at 6 and only scoring 3 and your rising star can’t help bale him out then it will be a very long season

Paco really should have beaten King in heat 8, he had the chance to block his outside run but was too polite and left plenty of room. I actually thought he rode pretty well after heat 1 and given a few meetings on a track he had seldom ridden he could be solid.

Cooper isn't going to fail to beat an opponent very often IMO but we shall see. Pointing fingers at riders one home meeting in is a bit early IMO.

Paco has said lynn  is not his favourite track and that is one of the reasons he signed on, he feels he can become a better rider by doing that. That obviously benefits lynn and him. He may not be a Nicki Pedersen in the making but he also said coming to lynn to master the track made him a better rider, in fact it helped make him world champion

Yep I was thinking the same given he's young and a decent rider he really should be a top ten man when you look at the UK league standard, with his eyes shut and averaging eight plus a meeting.

Most are not "forced" to build their team - they make choices.

KL chose to go with a genuine #1 and overall a stronger looking top 4, which restricted their options for riders 5 & 6. Signing Fricke might also have restricted the budget.

Ipswich knew they were without Doyle and Sayfutdinov, which did admittedly force the likelihood of a strength-in-depth line-up, but they still had to make some choices ... Hellström-Bängs being the best from my perspective, i.e. instead of Jordan Jenkins.

I don't think it's a lack of effort tbh, I personally think he's been vastly overrated by some fans due to him being handed a GP wildcard as part of a nationality box ticking exercise.

Jan has even lost his place in the Polish top league and has dropped down a league this year after being part of Torun's title winning team in 2025.

Two meetings in for the new era Witches & so far I’ve been impressed.

On track the same professionalism off track things seem to have kicked on a bit with social media interactions. The early signs are that Mayfield will keep their word & build on the Louis legacy.

I think we all know this season is probably as season of consolidation before moving forward again in 27.

I can think of at least one young rider mayfield need to talk to for 27.

Until then I think we are in for an enjoyable 26 & we might even surprise a few along the way.

Not what I was saying 

If you are to win matches particularly at home your number 2 needs to get more than 4 and your number 6 needs to beat an opponent 

Paco is at his level … Rushen could be a superstar and yes he will no doubt beat riders of course he will

I was talking specifically about this year and Ipswich certainly WERE forced in to go “strength in depth” due to the nature of the prolonged takeover. Mayfield have publicly said they spoke to several GP riders but none could make themselves available. In that sense, they WERE forced in to building in a different way. They had no other choice.

Just following on from the Ipswich late declaration I do wonder what will happen if Northampton start to look like Brum 2025 Lemon mentioned other promoters will help out but I can't help but think what would that help look like given nobody else half decent wants to ride in the UK this year.
