Which is a shame. You won’t have a clue what went on in the races and updates really paint a picture when you get the right texters.

The new update service has all that info too with detailed comments on each heat. It isn’t just a result service.

Don’t know why it wasn’t done about 10 years ago

Fair enough I haven’t looked that much into it tbh.

So R/R for cook it is. Pick of the bunch when it comes to guests and they can’t get anyone?

Almost like they’re expecting the gate to be down with other sporting events on today so doing it on the cheap. Was feeling confident midweek of a decent win but now not so much.

Pijper at reserve just strengthens Scunthorpe. Big meeting needed from the comets top 4 and it’s time for Niklas to step up and show he can do what he done midweek in Denmark over here.

They arrive Thu/Fri as they know that their eviction summons won't get processed till Monday at the earliest...

Tuesday on BH weekends..

My stores had a major problem with them as concrete car parks were perfect for them..

Therefore. My company (through a third party so no trace to us), employed a "security company" to arrive and ensure that the car park remained "safe"..

In reality, it was three "big lads" with three big  Alsatians that stayed overnight...

The dogs stayed outside their transit van, continuously barking which triggered the pikeys (I mean travellers), dogs, and also scared their horses all night, ensuring plenty of noise..

The lads were all body cammed up, looking like Police, and sat up all night playing music...

Any verbal altercation was met with "I have to tell you that I am recording this conversation both visually and with sound. For your protection and mine"...

They hated those words...:D

I was always in for 7am and would catch up with the security lads for an update and, invariably, they would telll me that "head pikey", I mean traveller, was going to see me later that morning...

Around 8am he would come over and agree to clear off if I let them use the toilet and washroom facilities...

Which I obviously did...

Word soon got round their communities that our company wasnt somewhere to go to, and the problem quickly stopped....

Thats the way to do it but why should it cost u surely thats what the police are for!

I would encourage any Worky fans reading this to pick up the phone or use email or social media to express your dispsleasure at the situation and demand some action. Police Station ; Police Chief and Crime Commissioner David Allen;  Mark Fryer Cumberland Council Leader and or senior Council Figures;  Josh MacAlister MP to name a few.

mark fryer wont do anything

nothing in it for him

Actually, ten years ago there wasn't a whisker of the technology you can deploy today.  The new updates are driven directly from each referee's laptop as it updates  within a few seconds if every race, every match.  Quite astoundingly quick

Believe his phone was unavailable last night.

The land is being pushed for development under the Workington Town Deal and is included in a Council prospectus . Recently Contractor Thomas Armstrong fenced a portion of said land off which is currently being remediated . I didn't understand why they didn't fence  up to the boundary shown in the prospectus . If they had the travellers may not have found it so attractive.

But.... the Speedway updates site has been going since 2005... The technology has advanced since then, agreed, but still the "powers that be" have only decided now to have their own updates page, that's all I'm saying.

Apparently they have drove FOURTEEN caravans into the overspill car park after reportedly smashing the padlock on the main gate.

PErhaps they thought it needed tarmacing or perhaps a new flatroof for the burger van ??

Friend of ours did exactly that a few years ago and the police warned him about harassment!

A farmer should be telling the Police that there's only a small window when a field can be fertilised, unfortunately these people decided to trespass on the land when that window was open.

Should add, he was a dairy farmer but he went to a nearby pig farmer for the slurry!  They took his Jack Russell with them when they eventually left.
