I assume the Ipswich fans who were all over it, despite the meeting not involving them, will be equally critical of their own team if the forecast rain doesn't arrive. 😉 I mean the fact that Ipswich town had localised flooding yesterday and it hasn’t stopped all day today kind of tells its own story 🤷🏼 easy decision I’d say for this one! Our garden was full of hail stones yesterday and puddles and we only live a few minute walk from the staidum
TB1
Once again speedway in Britain has backed itself into a corner. Fixed race nights ( whether you agree or disagree) will contribute to the death of the sport in the UK. Already we have a pile of fixtures stacking up with limited dates on which to stage them. If the top flight promoters won't deal or cannot deal with the problem, then quite frankly the sport deserves to die on its arse!

Can people just go about their daily business and not constantly moan about speedway in this country. What are you moaning about… the fact it’s raining and we can’t race? That’s the weather’s fault not the promoters, can people give it a rest for a bit please jheeeez. You want them to be able to just race Friday now because it’s raining Thursday? Please sit down and tell me how you can make that work. And if you can’t, don’t bother commenting just for the sake of posting.

But I don't buy a Ferrari as I cannot afford one. I merely stated that fixed race nights give them problems, or clearly you have the solution?

I think all can ride on either Monday or Thursday, if required, even if Monday isnt their race night... As they would if on TV... KL and BV can certainly do Thursdays, so a few weeks of all riding Monday and Thursday would clear any backlog I would suggest... Guests might be a bit harder to find admittedly if all rode... TTT
Can't do anything about the weather and the track is waterlogged but I think the negative comments (Myself included) are mostly driven from the whole fiasco surrounding this meeting in regards to the Hellstrom-Bangs situation. Ed Kennett signs, Ed Kennett unsigned, Mulford guests for Ipswich against Sheffield, Bangs returns for Ipswich in place of Mulford, Mulford then guests for Sheffield against Ipswich.

Why do I clearly have a solution? I’m not the one slating the sport, you are! Thursday and Monday you race. Same as other countries have fixed race nights, but the thing is, UK weather is awful compared to Poland so they don’t need many alternative nights to re run cancelled matches. One league creates a whole problem within itself too. There is no solution apart from a third party pumping a shed load of money into the sport. This isn’t anything like the Lynn call off (against Ipswich) where it was postponed on a potential forecast. Working nights, it rained from 11pm Monday evening, all through the night, and pretty much all through Tuesday on and off, with torrential downpours, hail, and Thunder and lightning. It’s rained again this afternoon, and more rain expected tomorrow. The sun has gone in to hiding also as well as the heat so that doesn’t help. I took this yesterday at 5pm before heading back to work. Never seen rain like it! The roads became rivers. https://share.icloud.com/photos/017QGq4JLvX6EJVqkb6kjwrUQ Edited 6 hours ago by Aries

Which he will learn from. Hes still new. Its always better to postpone early than later. And Coleman will learn this.

Kind of disagree because it completely depends on the situation and how much rain has already fallen, and how much is forecast. Some clubs DO postpone way too early on the strength of a forecast that has a few “possible showers” in 24 hours time. I’m sorry but you can’t be calling off meetings on the back of a few possible showers being forecast more than 24 hours before a meeting. If everyone started doing that then nearly all meetings would be getting postponed. I think that was his point.
SPEEDY69
In other news it's dry and sunny here in Ipswich, windy too. Tomorrow looks a little wet, who knows if it was premature yet. Without regular speedway people just don't bother and drift off. Edited 4 hours ago by SPEEDY69

It’s been raining again the last few hours where I am in Ipswich, only just started to break out. Definitely not dry here though Speedy! Edit: starting to now though. Seems I’m a bit behind where you are. Edited 4 hours ago by Aries
