Do you miss the great occasion that was Cardiff ?

Obviously a log of justifiable criticism of the track but it it hadnt been so bumpy Bomber would never have won, he loves a challenge!   As a Poole fan Lindback winning was another highlight especially as I had a decent bet on him. Criticism of the hotels is justified also but you didn't have to stay in Cardiff, we hardly ever did preferring to stay outside Cardiff and get a train in.

Do you mind ? I was born and brought up in that fair city . You have got a point though..😬

I think most cities are an avoid these days my nearest big city Norwich is a shadow of what it was 20 plus years ago, maybe Cambridge, Oxford, Bath and City of London but most others I can't say I'm in a hurry to go to.

The Speedway fraternity is a moaning lot (I'm not averse to a little moan myself now and again), but the organisers of this event bent over backwards to try and placate the bunch of moaners that the British Speedway fans are...

They setup no air horn zones because people complained it was too noisy, they slashed the ticket prices because people complained they were too expensive, they altered the start time to enable people to travel back after the meeting because people complained about the hotel prices, they improved the track (they actually did from the early years) because people moaned the racing was not up to muster... eventually they came to the conclusion, "what's the bloody point", and quite rightly so from their point of view.

And now we are moaning because we no longer have it at Cardiff which has a lot to offer. I would add that I thought the last gp was better racing wise and Bewley winning was brilliant for the British fans. I did think they could have risked one more year and it must have been a late decision as tickets were still available until December. I also enjoyed the fan zone in Cardiff but that got depleted year on year and some shows, like the bmx, were cut on the day because the organisers prioritised what was happening on the main stage which I thought was a shame.

Also another point would be they changed the time for Cardiff so people could travel back the same day but the Manchester gp is at 7! Plus if you were not rushing home you could walk and have a nice meal afterwards, you cant do that after the gp tonight, you have to eat beforehand or have something from the overpriced food outlets.
