Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits k.o.c Semi Final 1st leg 24th June

Recommended Posts

That’s a great result for Berwick did not see that coming

Rushen great talent that he is is starting to show signs of a bit if petulance but he’s only young but might need a steady influence …. Definitely over rode tonight something Brennan is sometimes guilty of at Ipswich

match finely balanced now

Game on for Berwick now, and what could/should be a very patched up pilots side, Bowes out 7 day injury list after withdrawal from tonights meeting,Lawson could be missing , could/would not ride in Denmark due to injury no cairns in GP 2 qualification, cook could be doubtful if in Poland on Sunday. Come on bandits 😜 😃

Bowed already got his sick note for Friday and Saturday

Surprised they let him ride in his 2nd ht although he looked ok in it ,I was pretty sure he would have been pulled after his off in ht 1 and then not made the trip north

No wonder the Pirates fans wanted it off, it wasn’t the hot weather that was the problem it was the heat of the Bandits.

Not surprised to see them up to their old tricks with Bowes at all, I wonder what the excuse will be for him not to turn up on Saturday.

Will Lawson ride Saturday,if he has a non speedway related injury is it a 7 day ban?

Maybe it was a "workshop" injury?....

We done Berwick it all fell into place for them tonight and they must be favourites to go through. A catalogue of silly errors, falls an inept riding from Poole tonight. But special mention to the track staff with a decent prepared track and no dust to speak of.

First of all Lawson was sorely missed. Harris was a woeful guest to be honest and made no impact. Plenty of dirt down he just played follow the leader. Made no effort to pass Bowes in heat 6 and was tailed off in his last ride.

Bowes must be in borrowed time. Kerr was unlucky to lose a chain when on a 5-1. Cook looked disinterested. Rushen overtried and cost himself and the team a few points. Cairns was solid as was Newman after bike issues in his first. But the performance was lacklustre. No intent.

Berwick chipped away with what looked like a weak team but had a trump card at 7 with Jenkins who rode well. The others  ride OK but did enough to keep it close. They have to be favourites to go through.

All "rules" have been dropped this season, any rider can miss any meeting whenever they want with any reason, or no reason, with no repercussions at all... unless your name is Edward Kennett.
