Let’s have a speedway riders benevolent fund collection on a night it’s meant to rain. 😔

They started late then wasted more time doing the ben fund,  rain was always likely.  they picked the ben fund collection on a night when attendance was going to be down due to it being on the telly. very poor from Sheffield.

Yep, shortchange the punters by a heat and expect them to tip up more of their hard earned for the Ben Fund, typical British speedway.

To clarify, was the correct decision to call it off but could so easily have been avoided with a little foresight.

Most bizarre exclusion for Cook - Lynn unlucky there. I think refs should  explain why some decisions are made, i presume Lynn raised the issue over the phone etc, or does that not happen now??  - not seen the full stream nor was at the match but seeing the replay it seem Etheridge out was the only choice 😶

Its really peeing down now, first proper rain in Sheffield for weeks!!

Just played catchup and the decision to exclude Cook was appalling! Where on earth is he meant to go when Etheridge was locked up and out of control?

Ref completely bonkers decision and did Etheridge even bother to come over and apologise to Cook after he caused the smash that wrecked a bike?

What is stopping the Sheffield track being widened by a few feet onto the infield? Would potentially make it a much better spectacle with more racing lines and safer. Every meeting I've seen, after first few races the only place to be is millimeters from the fence?

Seem recall hearing that previous promoter Neil Machin wanted to do this, but was refused permission from Stadium owners.

No I don't think Etheridge said anything to Ben, Etheridge looked a liability all night.

Etheridge has had a shocker of a season with Sheffield, thought they would've sacked him early doors but who was available on such a low average to replace him? He's a rider with absolutely no confidence in himself when riding in the Prem.

When he downed Jenkins it was the start of lap two, he'd been all over the back of Jenkins up to then and was obviously faster than him, all he had to do was bide his time and he'd have passed him easily. The incident in heat 11 was abysmal, both from Etheridge and the referee. Riding a wide line he was well behind Fricke and there was room for him to continue that line as Fricke wasn't that close to the fence. Why he chose to change his line, across the front of Cook, only he'll know. The same applies to Ackroyd as to why he excluded Cook....unbelievable!

Don't know what Etheridge was on last night, but his head wasn't right, he came out in heat seven with the wrong helmet colour, pity he had to have three rides!

Why not give the BEN fund the money the teams saved not forking out for Heat 15?..

Unfortunate the rain came as it had been a decent meeting up to that point, certainly far more entertaining than the one between these two last month.

Difficult to understand just how anyone could come to the decision to exclude Cook, would have been a shocker even without the benefit of replays.

In view of the rain being forecast, it should have been tapes up at 7.30 ( not rider introductions), and get on with it a bit quicker.

Owner's may have saved on wages, but I am now considering not going to the Belle Vue match. I pay to watch speedway, not for the introductions. How many others feel the same?

Could have been an interesting finish. Could Sheffield have got the aggregate point? Could there have been a superheat for the aggregate point?. Could Kings Lynn have got a draw. We'll never know.
