I remember two seasons ago when Berwick had a bad start to the season (the time of Lewis Bridger and Dmitri Berge) that a lot of fans were going to stop going because the team was losing. When pointed out to them that the racing was probably the best we had seen for a while at that time, they responded they did not care, all they wanted was the win. Now, apparently, it doesn't matter if you are winning, it all depends on the racing. Speedway fans, don't you just love them?

Great news the original line up is finally going to be on track. Huge thanks to Scott who has ridden very well for us and delighted he is fixed up at Peterborough. He deserves it.

I pride myself on being super critical of the FIM and BSI wherever I can. They continue to make some really silly decisions and need to be called out whenever they do. The Speedway of Nations continues to be some sort of Dog's Breakfast. BUT I cannot understand any of the ongoing criticism of SGP scoring and format. Especially this obsession some folk have with trying to invent bizarre extreme scenarios to aid their arguments. It seems just about perfect now. Better than any system before it. And should be left alone. Its just ONE of the few things in the whole Speedway world that isn't even slightly messed up.

That would make sense and will be the case however the room for exploitation is there. In a few seasons the conversion rate will be 2. A decent rider finishes the season with a Prem average of 7 and Champ Average of 8. The following season the rider can either be signed at the start of the year into the Prem on a 7 average again or sign Champ only, wait to the 1st set of averages to be released and be available on a bargain 4.

Hawkins came across as, well it would be impolite to say it as it appeared to me. Hopefully, he has a better relationship with his riders and an understanding of the sport than he has with the media. At the very least some help with that seems necessary. And sadly this meeting I can only rate as 5/10 and was a poor advert for UK speedway. Even Tatum & Pearson fell far below their usual almost impeccable selves. Not just with the errors but with downright lies replacing their usual spin on how wonderful it all was. They seemed quite disinterested at times, perhaps they were suffering from post G.P. blues? If the Live matches are not going to rise about the Swindon match and this one it certainly wasn't worth Buster "saving" the PL for TV. The sport looked completely moribund and was raced in front of a crowd that looked like less than a 1,000 ( maybe far less ). Cannot see how any casual non-speedway fan who stumbled across the broadcast would consider rushing to their nearest track.

Well after last nights gate and go once again I am finding it hard to want to go and watch Lynn nowadays. The racing is terrible, ok it looks quick but you can’t overtake on this track anymore. When a rider like lambert can’t overtake there is something wrong, but by looking at the crowd last night I’m not the only one who has had enough. got to be the worst crowd I have seen at Lynn for years. Get rid of the stupid mud shale which does not allow for good racing and put on some decent shale. Otherwise there will be more people in the pits than on the terraces ! Such a shame our Once great track has gone this way

Proper music for ending the evening , May each day , and it has to be the proper Andy Williams version ,not the bloody awful one Sandhu changed it to

Bellego clearly cant perform to the level that is required Harris is just awful as a number one And when you have Bates wobbling around and the other reserve flying then how on earth was Heeps not given 7 rides Louis needs to look at the team manager situation. How does Heeps not get 7 rides and how on earth was Harris in heat 15. Had to be Heeps or KP, nobody would expect Harris to make it off of gate 4 Also cant believe i read that Lawson needs to go.... thats 3 home meetings on the spin he has won heat one. Replace Harris and Bellego while we can and get a team manager who knows how to manage

Noooo! Not the best team of all-time, but one to pay money to watch every week 1 Nigel Boocock - who else but Little Boy Blue - no sponsored vehicle or motor home, just load the bike on the back of a Ford Consul and off to the meeting! 2 Col Cottrell - smooth operator who for a short time was quite unbeatable around Brandon and was part of a wonderful opening pair with Booey - sadly died aged 40 in 1982 3 Tom Farndon - never saw him (obviously!) but the one rider of all time I wish I had seen 4 Ron Mountford - they say that they had to repaint the kick-boards after each meeting where The Man had left tyre marks in his all-action style 5 Tommy Knudsen - the young Dane who made racing look so stylish and so easy (which it never is!), sadly left the sport way too soon 6 Les Owen - the late great Muscles, Coventry kid so seriously injured in 1973 in a track-crash from which he never fully recovered, tragically killed on the railway at Canley crossing - RIP Les 7 Gary Guglielmi - this has to be the young GG who first came to Brandon in 1977, not the later version - watching him try and complete even one lap around Brandon was worth the admission money alone

I think what they need is proper shale, not top soil, seems that all 3 tracks that buster Chapman is involved in have all the same material coincidence.

So the witches need 3 changes to become league winners I think. Harris, Bellego, Hawkins,,,,, then job done

I wasn't at the AFA last night ,so I can't comment on the standard of racing , but it was a terrible result for the Stars. It's time to show Proctor and Anderson the exit door.

Think it was a big missed opportunity by Wolves in all honesty Steve. We made numerous errors early doors and were missing our key rider. When Wolves kept getting their noses in front I thought that was that. Any away point is good, but I’m sure most Wolves supporters would have seen this one as a missed opportunity.

Me too. I feel lost without Lucy by my side. I have always taken a dog with me to Speedway meetings and they have never been a problem to anyone. We're not exactly at some posh all seated indoor arena but usually pretty basic grass banking or terracing so why not if they are allowed.

It would have been even worse for Lynn if Poole where interest

Will be good to be back at full strength, so pleased Scott has managed to get fixed up elsewhere

Agree with Proctor and Kerr, it's a good job these trophy matches don't count towards the averages. At least this way you can see how the riders are doing before possibly making changes for the league campaign. Think we might have to see how Riss is before we go ahead with changes.

As others have said, once again, those running the sport in this country have shown that they haven't got a bloody clue. 20 years of TV coverage now and STILL they haven't grasped how to use it to market the sport.

Someone who actually gets it !!! just a shame it's a Poole fan

Well if they don't sort out the team for the 2 fixtures this weekend it will be season over before it's hardly began.

To be fair it also had something to do with Danny King, Drew Kemp, Broc Nichol and especially Kyle Howarth as well. Sheffield were the first team to arrive at Shielfield this season with all of the riders willing to get stuck in and race. Newcastle and Glasgow had a couple but were mostly passengers, Edinburgh just couldn't be arsed with the exception of Luke Ruddick. Virtually every point on Saturday was earned the hard way and that led to close racing, errors under applied pressure, crashes, a visiting side comeback. Mind you someone on here reckons it was the worst meeting of the season so far ... Seems you can't please some - or maybe they had their whinge set to auto-publish at 21.05

Cook has a CL ave of 10.51. Divide that by 1.5 you get 7.00. Even if he had a CL average of 12.00 he'd still fit.
