THJ raced in the Championship for Berwick in 2019, finished second-top heat-leader with 6.96. If he came back now, his average would certainly be reduced, but not by a lot. The big reductions surely go to riders returning from retirement, not guys who just haven't raced in Britain.....
-
Personally I think this was pushed by Poole knowing only Thompson and Lawson were over 8 and knowing they had cairns and rushen coming in at reserve.
-
I may be wrong but I don`t think the "inclusion of only one 8pt rider" has been added to the speedway rules and regulations. I can only see any reference to it in the "2026 British Speedway AGM- Statement", which as Redtruck implies, the one over 8 was only a "requirement for INITIAL team building declarations" and therefore, not a rule. Meaning if any 8pt riders were available, after the first match teams could sign 2 or even 3 if they wanted. 2026 British Speedway AGM - Statement - Speedway Hub UK

Problem is Morris is ruthless as a ‘team rider’ in most meetings he’s carved his own team mate up, be that Thompson or Howarth, or Kemp. He’s possibly better off at 2 riding with Douglas and then have Thompson and Howarth at 3 and 4, that’s if Masters can regain some form and get points from riding at 5 -
Personally I think 1 rider over 8ave has made for a better league no really standout teams and if you look at the teams as they stand now only 9 riders over 8 and 9 teams i know bomber is 8.17 but if you take 2.5% off he's below 8

For all I bang on about the team, the rest of the night is absolutely fine, on a par with anything I've been to at more established tracks. I think that's what makes it even more frustrating! -
That’s the answer,thanks👍

Why only a proposal for a possible Speedway site. Why not build the Speedway Stadium first, then do the landscaping and play areas, finally build the homes.

Don't forget the 2.5% British reduction

19/06/2026 I am writing on behalf of Brandon Estates to update you on our revised plans for the redevelopment of Brandon Stadium, located between Brandon and Binley Woods. As a neighbour to the site, we want to ensure you are fully informed about the proposals and have the opportunity to share any views or questions. Our vision is to transform the stadium site into a family-friendly residential neighbourhood with high-quality landscaping and screening to protect local amenity. The plans also include new public open spaces and the creation of a speedway track, providing opportunities for leisure and recreation. The stadium has been closed since 2016, following the end of speedway racing. Since then, the site has deteriorated significantly, and speedway cannot return without major investment. Our aim is to secure a positive, sustainable future for the site-one that respects its heritage while addressing current local needs. Our outline proposals include new homes, landscaping, parking for residents and visitors, and the potential for a speedway track. Outline planning consent would establish the principle of development, with further detailed proposals to follow if consent is granted. Given the site's proximity to many local homes, we are keen to speak with residents and hear any comments or questions you may have. Your feedback is important to us as we shape plans that bring benefits to the wider community. Our proposals include: · Up to 104 new homes in a mix of sizes and tenures, including 20% affordable homes to help meet local housing needs. · A new purpose-built speedway track capable of hosting racing in a controlled and managed environment. · Onsite parking designed to meet the needs of both residents and speedway spectators. · New tree and hedgerow planting to deliver biodiversity net gain and integrate the development sensitively within the landscape. · A new local park and public open space for community use. hese proposals would transform the site into a welcoming residential neighbourhood, create ew public open spaces, provide opportunities for leisure and recreation, and support local bs. Ve are committed to long-term ownership and responsible maintenance of the site. Our pproach prioritises the coexistence of existing residents, future residents, and a speedway ack, ensuring everyday life can continue without unnecessary disruption.

The local council are apparently not in favour but as i have said, when are council officers ever in favour ?. -
Poole were in the Prem last time THJ rode in 2019. He had a Prem average of 4.18. I reckon he could do a reasonable Championship reserve job, depending what his gsa was reduced to?!
-
The confusion seems to be how we’re Worky allowed to start the season with 2 riders over 8 from their 2025 ave!?Or was one reassessed..
-
He was good for Poole last time he was here but he is a lot older now, dont think he is worth the risk

Drew replaced Craig Cook. His average is lower than Craig's so there is no rule breaking. Let's say if Kyle Howarth was to get injured, Glasgow would be able to replace him with a rider up to Kyle's average despite having Chris Harris in the team (who is also above 8).

He need not bother

Just putting it out there….Thomas H Jonasson is looking for more meetings….What would his average be as he hasn’t rode in the UK for a few years??

I don't like them, but if they have to do them, should be at every round not just some of them. -

Mildenhall have got a air fence rather than the poly foam fence that Scunthorpe Lynn Berwick and Northampton use which is the biggest difference and slightly worryingly have purchased the old air fence from Ipswich which is not fit to use as it’s over ten years old now. -
