  1. Past hour
  2. And all the different fans from each track mingling, without an ounce of trouble
  3. Do get the impression that this is a”going through the motions “ exercise.
  4. If only we still had a magazine dedicated to the era being talked about!
  5. That doesn't matter. FIM maintain a clear hierarchy of events, and that's what dictates things.
  6. I think the only way Poole will be racing those teams, if it is one league
  7. Today
  8. Not a day goes by where I don’t feel sad not having Coventry racing. I really, really hope we can see Brandon back some time but the longer it goes on, the slimmer my hopes get. 😞
  9. Well, here it is. Please let this be the last time we’re doing this. 😞 The final time bikes will roar around Perry Barr. A sad, sad end to a turbulent few years for the Brummies. Wishing Tolley and the Birmingham promotion all the very best for the future and hope that they can end with a good crowd for what will be an emotional night.
  10. Those were the days - I can remember at Sunderland, back in the 70's - a Clerk of the Course named Nel Revlis - was named in the Programme. I wonder who that could be? 🤣 Things like that happened years ago - and it was entertaining. Appropos the 'Lay Downs' - they were the ruination of Speedway for me. Those and the GP's !!!!! 🤬
  11. SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Anders Rowe, Josh Pickering, Nick Morris, Chris Holder, Jye Etheridge, Leon Flint. LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson Anything other than a home win would be a disaster for Sheffield morale wise going into the play offs. Leicester have beaten us twice already round Owlerton. last visit Kerr and Sedgmen scored a shocking 1 between them, and in my opinion were rightly replaced with Morris and Etheridge. Kemp and Thompson scored paid 12, they’ll do well to do the same tomorrow. Becker back in the team makes Leicester weaker as an away team but still are the form team for me going into the play offs. Sheffield to win 50-40. If the tracks as good as the BV meeting should be some good racing
  12. I think it's the FIM Europe under 19 final he's going to be racing in. [Hungary, Finland, Latvia and Norway are all represented. No Brits qualified]
  13. I wasn't really commenting on that - the curse referred to the fact every time Emil was out in heat one he never won the race!!
  14. Over 20,000 in attendance. Tickets bought in March for an October meeting to ensure you got your usual seats.. One rider from every team ensured at least 16 teams had fans there, some in big numbers... Dozens of coaches from around the country .. 100's of bikes lined up in the KL car park (hardly see a biker at Speedway nowadays).. Red shale gleaming under the lights and a crackling atmosphere.. As the night porter said to Georgie Best in the Savoy, when he entered his room with Champagne,on ice, tenners strewn all over the bed from the casino, and his girlfriend, (Miss World, Mary Stavin), relaxing on the bed ready for an evening with the great man .. "Where did it all go wrong?" ..😁
  15. Live updates Fjelsted v Vojens https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/6927 Live updates Region Varde v Grindsted https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/6915
  16. Live updates Dackarna v Vastervik tonight from 6pm https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/DrivingSchedule/CompetitionLiveResult.aspx?Branch=Speedway&Columns=CompetitionInfo,Branch,Name,Organizer,FromDateShort,LiveResult&DateFilter=TODAY&pagesize=10&IsArrangeable=true &ShowSearch=true&Style=SvemoWebsite&CompetitionId=17318
  17. Gutted not going to make it tonight stuck at auction in Gloucestershire and they are slow. Not going to be finished until 6.30-7pm. Have to follow on updates.
  18. While talking of nostalgia ,for me nothing beats the BLRC CHAMPIONSHIP meetings at Belle Vue Hyde Rd. Jam-packed every year+ Fun Fair for after.
  19. He will. That’s why he’s moved Emil to three this week so him and King can ride together. They’ll be partnered at 1 and 2 for the playoffs
  20. Teams should be able to put the riders where they want in the top 5. Being restricted with having the RS at 7 means no option at reserve (at least in the championship you can have your reserves any way round). With having to have your best rider at 1 means you are limited there also (Belle Vue are also better with Kurtz at 1 and Bewley at 5 as an example).
  21. The Fours were also amongst the best racing you could ever see... Each team seemed to have four top class international riders, with some having five, and some also having a "wunderkind" U21 rider at six in his first UK season... Many would be considered a GP level meeting today given the talent on show... Plus. Each event had three lots of away fans there in decent numbers, giving atmosphere and status to the events... Something sadly missing at many matches today due to a lack of away followers... Getting more U11's, and away fans into tracks should be the No1 priority of the sport.. The kids to get parents and guardians there, the away fans to add atmosphere... Give tickets away if needs be as a "loss leader"... Given so few attend now, the cost will be negligible...
  22. Definitely frustrating but we knew he'd be missing some meetings when we signed him, this was probably in his calendar before he signed for us.
  23. Christ we were spoiled in those days Mike add in Henka, Rikardson, Boyce, Adams, Gunderson, Neilson, Pederson, Knudson, Loram stacks of star riders.
