What about Northampton?

Unfortunately Mayfield don’t have a great record with Speedway organisational skills. The GPs that they promoted operationally were a disaster with a number of important things that they forgot to arrange and in the end Discovery got them out of a mess by arranging the missing bits and bringing their operations team in. Even on the day little things were not arranged like buffet and food for officials , sponsors not getting their pit walks and badge allocation with track marshals names not on lists for practice just for the event etc -
So a person who was a co-director, with Terry Russell, in the company (supposedly) formed to save Swindon Speedway, is now saying Swindon Speedway was never viable? There's no hope for Speedway at Swindon, so you can go ahead and knock the Abbey stadium down? Why would someone be such a weasel? A cynic might think that with the sad demise of Terry Russell, there is now only one weak obstacle in Clarke Osborne's way. Clarkey boy might then have a look through his stationery cupboard at the brown envelopes, while he tries to think of a way to persuade the obstacle to disappear.

No idea

Probably May if the season hasn’t started by then

That's not the Steve Park who posts on here is it?

Swindon Speedway 2013 Director Steve Park has submitted a letter to SBC supporting the demolition of the Abbey Stadium! He claims rejection of the plans "will end any possibility of a return of speedway to Swindon" - bizarrely, he earlier claims that Studley Grange is "currently making progress through the planning stages." So, which is it, Steve? Will the weird logic of failure to remove the only speedway track in the locality really end all hope? Or are you delivering a new track? I'll let others speculate on what a speedway company director could possibly gain from the loss of the only speedway facility... https://pa.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=T2SDBXPTIS200

I dunno actually. We think along those lines because we’re part of a very very small pool of supporters that regularly frequent this forum. The vast majority of supporters that turn up at their tracks will have gotten on with their lives over the winter and been oblivious to the finer details of club sales and a new track. I’d bet there actually isn’t that many who are like kids at Christmas and want to know what they’re getting yesterday. A bigger number will be confused at there being no fixtures or season tickets on sale sure, but I’m not convinced it’ll be a dealbreaker! From a personal point of view, after a long winter I’m at the point now where I’ve missed the racing and I’m looking forward to getting up to Lynn in a few weeks to watch some Speedway.

Think most regular speedway fans would have said we have to a step back and regroup, but the men in charge seem intent on self destruction.IMO. The Premiership is only in name apart from I/2 doz riders.

Clear as mud as always
-
Agreed. I'm also not sure how long Mayfield sports will be around.
-
It's past getting the point where people now don't care what happens, then will be thinking twice about attending speedway in the future, then if the punters don't attend the promoters business plan ( if they have one ) goes out of the window. This applies to not just Ipswich it's the whole fookin sport

Well, one week down of the latest two week turnaround! Will we get a sale confirmation by this time next week, or will we get another “update” of another delay? The suspenders are killing me! 😁

You are describing British premier league speedway there -
At least they didn't charge for Eleven....
-
And if they followed Sheffield’s lead, “you buy 10 and get NONE free!!” 😁
-
Who knew that this could work?

This isn't an officlal poster... If it was, it would have also said... "And Bring a Friend!"..

British based riders and running on a night to suit the fans are probably the two biggest drivers. -

Can I ask what bank you work for, to know that "Coleman himself hasn't got the money"???!!! And do they know you are divulging confidential information? I'm sure they won't be too happy. Best get your CV updated...😉 -

As I've said elsewhere if the current crop of riders aren't putting the bums on the seats they can hardly complain if the prize money goes down while competing in half empty (and sometimes completely empty, SWC) stadiums.

Correct. Not everything has to be a conspiracy.

These issue are extremely common in commercial leases when a tenant wishes to sell a business the landlord can insist on robust and onerous conditions in simple terms guarantees .This may also include financial remuneration for allowing transfer or a complete new lease . Even the simplest commercial lease depending on the detail can cost a minimum of 3-5 K each party ,I would imagine in this case the costs could be significantly more .
