  1. Past hour
  2. Agree to disagree but you are wrong 😂
  3. Do we know if it is Garritty, or is it just speculation?
  4. But we all know they were left with the scraps and as a result have a team where 50% of the time you have three possible riders who don't fancy it. You could carry 1 but you can't carry 3 with that mindset, if Zagar comes back and is 50% interested he could still do a job in this standard of league but they need to get rid of another one of the disinterested gang but its that same old question who would come if anyone.
  5. Another blast from the past if I remember correctly big things were expected of the boy but he was thrown into an already seriously weak Lynn team from the off had blue leathers if I remember correctly ?
  6. I'm glad I grew up watching Gordon Kennett...a master of the white line and passed many opponents and created so many special memories! Sadly missed but his legacy lives on!
  7. Pete was the other end of the scale zero empathy and always looked permanently miserable but as you say he knew how to run a team I can remember years ago when Wolves just about held Cradley in an away match and somehow Pete had Sam or Ronnie Correy out in every other heat and both were on fire that night.
  8. The reason Drew didn't resign for Berwick was the logistics involved with us being a Saturday track, he had at the time basically said he wouldn't be riding Championship.
  9. Not much to say except that, once again, the Foxes only had 5 riders, but a different 5! Thomson should have had 6 rides but that's what you get with an inexperienced team manager, I suppose. Racing was apparently poor, crowd was apparently good. Hopefully the first improves before the second falls. I'll be there a week on Monday and just enjoy having something local for the rest of the season!
  10. Today
  11. I know hindsight is 20/20 but Kemp should have been signed long before they even considered Cookie. No disrespect at all because it's obvious that Cook definitely still has what it takes, but his ability to just disappear when needed is just not good enough as a professional rider. I feel it's the end of his career now - not because he can't do it, but no promoter will risk it any more. A massive shame when you consider that not too long ago he was the 2nd best british rider we had.
  12. Expecting a close meeting tomorrow. Harris has never dominated at our spot, but i expect all the other riders will do well.
  13. Most programme's contain little of relevance to the visitors other than team profile so an insert with team profile of new visitors on the back makes sense.
  14. Etherington and Workington parted ways mutually. He knew he was no where near ready. Spencer is a better rider than Whalley, although Whalley may have a higher ceiling. Also, it isnt the same. Having a British Passport may make you British, but he's still and Aussie
  15. I'd agree with the "rising star" system being used in the Champ, but don't think Spencer would qualify due to his age. Don't agree that they shouldn't be dropped, it's a sport & a business. Plus that brings in other issues, Workington not being allowed to drop Etherington who wants to be let go or a rider who turns 16 mid-season (Will Cairns) not getting signed as no "RS" is allowed to be dropped, meaning he has to ride in the top 6! It's no surprise Spencer has been dropped as he wasn't scoring well & has been given plenty of matches. There's no guarantee Whalley will do any better as the jump form NL to Champ is massive, but can't blame Plymouth for trying something new.
  16. Doyle is only a 28 day injury cover. If Dan is then back and, Doyle genuinely wants to ride in this league then he would be a MUST at Northampton maybe Mr Lemon would block that as he would know how competitive that would make us.
  17. First time to Northampton. What a great setup. If they could get a bit more banking on the corners I think it would make for more racing lines, but we still have to remember that it's still a first year track. I remember Scunthorpe having to make several adjustments when they firs started. As a Sheffield fan I had a great night but for me the ride of the night was "Reggi" in ht.14. that was hat he was brought in to do and would love to see more of it. I wish all the best to the Foxes as they are a great addition to the league and speedway in general.
  18. First visit last night, and frankly won't be going again if that's what is on offer entertainment wise. A shame as the stadium is alright.
  19. SF postponed now being staged at Leicester on sunday 19th July 2pm start
  20. Doyle is only a 28 day injury cover. If Dan is then back and, Doyle genuinely wants to ride in this league then he would be a MUST at Northampton maybe mr Lemon would block that as he would know how comp that would make us.
  21. I agree with the bold part, however no place of work is a charity (unless it is an actual charity of course) and if you don't perform you're rightly moved on.
  22. But some people like to read what was in the postponed programme and at least it's still relevant a couple of weeks later rather than three months later when that one gets re-staged. It was also more than just an insert with race details, there was some commentary/narrative. Maybe £2.50 would've been better.
  23. I have to say that I am impressed with how hard the two promoters are working. Everything is taking shape nicely off the track. On it, not quite as well. considering how late the team was put together snd how limited the options were, I think the team is performing better than 99% of us expected. yes, there are massive inconsistencies in individual riders performances but that was always going to be the case. Considering the established reputations of several of the riders. on the whole, the team have been in most meetings, especially until heat 13. That then shows the lack of top end power. This team is one rider short of being very competitive against everyone bar maybe belle vue. it will be interesting to see just how ambitious the promoters are as with ZAGAR due to be recovered soon, will they make changes and push on into the playoffs? the only moan I have is that we have now had two meetings , ( last night snd Lynn away), where the lack of tactical knowse from the team manager in not switching his reserves snd better utilising the signing of the season, in Kai Thomson, has cost us both those meetings. To not give Kai extra rides last night snd still give Harrison all four, was criminal. come on Paul and Tony, bring back ZAGAR when fit , keep jonas. One change is all we need to make the playoffs snd turn these last heat deciders into wins.
  24. I think you’ll probably find most road users these days suffer from some sort of mental illness of one thing or another that can affect their judgment. And that could have catastrophic effects on say a motorway. Affecting dozens of other road users. A speedway race affecting 3 others which is definitely 3 too many. So I understand your point too and like you say, it’s all about context and circumstances
  25. If Richard Coleman is not involved in the meeting then it might be shown somewhere !! Christina Turnbull is the ref.
