  1. Past hour
  2. RIP Norman, a real team man. When I first started going to the Abbey Stadium back in 1971 the stadium announcer (the late Graham Guthrie) always pronounced Norman’s surname as Strawn. It wasn’t until a certain Gordon signed for Man Utd that I realised I had the wrong pronunciation all those years. Rest easy Norman.
  3. Choice of guest a little surprising. Must have been an acute shortage of available candidates. Bomber admits he is not a gater which is so important at Poole, also usually a critic of track prep at Wimbourne Road ie too slick for him to gain up lost ground. Troy Batch may well have returned more points but that is also not a given. Good to see Berwick keep it tight and I think the momentum could well be with the Bandits now but you never know in Speedway, team circumstances and fine margins come to mind. Should be a good contest on a track where fast gating is also very important, who will have their gating gloves on ? .
  4. Spot on there's probably ten or so riders that have that attitude I would rather have a tryer in at who got 4-5 points a meeting than a fella who could get 13-15 one week and then blatantly show zero interest the next meeting. KK was another case when riding, unbeatable when in the mood and then looked like he had never been on a bike when he didn't fancy it.
  5. All this talk about "poaching" riders like they don't have a say in the matter. At the end of the day it's the riders choice whom they race for, as ultimately they're the ones signing the contracts 🙄
  6. This is potentially a very significant and exciting initiative which will hopefully lead to more Polish/British club link ups.
  7. 100% was worth the wait, Hyped up announcements from British Clubs are normally always a let down but Mayfield have well and truly delivered. I was very downbeat on Monday night after the battering at Belle Vue but last night's announcement has restored my full confidence that 2027 will be much much different, Light at the end of the tunnel as the saying goes. Riders will always do what the Polish Club tells them to do (We all know that) hence why certain Belle Vue fans are rattled because Kurtz and Bewley are Wroclaw riders. Ipswich need a No.1 in 2027 and with Wroclaw buying 30% of the Witches and a lack of No.1's on these shores, The target will surely be Dan Bewley considering Mark Lemon isn't likely to let Kurtz go for anyone other than Zmarzlik. Bewley dual contract is an odds on shot in betting terms imo.
  8. Think even some Glasgow fans will agree Harris is not having the best of seasons by his standard.Never seen him so inconsistent.
  9. But is he ? Maybe down to ride but may not get off his sunbed somewhere in Europe 😜
  10. That is exactly the way he would have spun it if Brennan went back to Belle Vue from Birmingham instead of going to Ipswich and everyone knows it. The bloke is a troll. Ignore him.
  11. I agree. But the Polish cartel has bigger teeth...
  12. Today
  13. Back from my hols and was looking forward to seeing Doyley but which Bomber will turn up as He has been hit and miss this year?
  14. Poole doing things they’ve done for years on end but I keep getting told they’re not cheats 🙄
  15. This was also touched on in the Ipswich/Wroclaw piece in this weeks Speedway Star. It’s a good read
  16. Speedway Futures were mentioned 😂 @Ouch it was mentioned also about Ipswich running a NDL team in the near future.
  17. His attitude at Foxhall was quite telling. Polar opposite to Sayfutdinov who obliterated the Foxhall track record pretty quickly. All riders are different and have different mentalities. It wasn’t just Foxhall where Laguta’s “effort” was called in to question either, there were others.
  18. I felt we had a bit of bad luck throughout the night, Kerr chain, Rushen exclusion but he should not have stopped in an earlier race when Morris clamped him. We missed Lawson badly, hope he is ok for the rest of the week.
  19. I do indeed remember them. But I’ll look at it another way to you. We tried to help Tom in the next step of his career to help him progress. Learning from Doyle and Emil and further his speedway education riding in a successful team, giving him a Champions medal in front of a healthy crowd. Instead of leaving him to fester at a club that just wasnt supported, riding in front of one man and his dog at a track that had no future. You can look at things in different ways, depending on your agenda.
  20. We had a similar tie up with Unia Tarnow about 10 years ago and it saw us use several Polish lads throughout the campaign. The Aces also took part in training days at their track plus other commercial & sporting initiatives. A first for British Speedway though different to this latest one with the 30% financial stake.
  21. I think if Redcar don't want the season to drift by and fade away and be done and dusted fixture wise by the end of August , they have to find a way of accommodating both Klindt & Wright to provide heat leader power at the top end of the team , particularly in heats 13 and 15. Think the current status of a solid septet only provides the bears with only one out and out heat leader and if they have an off night your relying on the reserves scoring 15-18 points between them.
  22. Yes but not on any British site and it does not mention what the injury is. He was meant to ride for Danish team but did not due to injury but he is riding tonight so it must have been very minor to heal in a day or they decided not to use him and that is the excuse given.
  23. Back to Buxton rather than Garritty. Last Sunday's match on 21st June, anyone tell me what time the main match and the MDL match finished? Just wondering as after the match on May 24th, when they announced an interval, at 5.15, after only 12 races, I packed up and went home. Is it worth bothering with them again.
  24. Sunday’s R 10 match line-ups Ostrow v Pila start time 2pm UK time Ostrow 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 Pila 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

  26. I just know there's going to be somebody out there who can explain Cooper's exclusion from heat 14. As usual I was on the apex of 1&2, so had a good view, what I saw was both riders coming through the turns Cooper leading but was looking a little squirrely, Smith then caught him up through turn 2 causing Cooper to fall. It looked clear cut to me Yellow light. Overall a frustrating watch last night, Bomber is inconsistent had a good night on Monday so guess he due a poor one.
