I thought that a year or two ago, he then picked up some form, seems to have lost it again though. Although that now means he's on an attractive average for 2026, so will probably get a place with someone.
-
I was thinking where did you get that average from, can't believe he's dropped over a point from his August average! Although technically he's Oxford's 3rd heat leader. As for Schroeck don't understand how Oxford think he's the best manager available for 3 teams!

Yes MPT has lost some form this year was once a formidable heat leader , maybe his injuries have affected him. Remember him winning the Peter Craven meeting in 2022 against a strong field . -

Absolutely correct IainB..I'm quite shocked that the Plymouth meeting survived with only two of their team available. It makes a mockery of speedway as a serious sport. I'm a rugby league fan of Workington Town, as well as the Comets, and I have always fought verbal differences with the fellow RL fans who ridicule speedway for so many reasons. One main weapon they'd use against me is the 'guest' system. For example Stoney guesting for a team challenging Comets for the title - how does that happen they ask. And it's so hard to convince non speedway folk it's acceptable (no it's not actually but hey ho) so at the next Town match I'll not supply them with Plymouth bullets to down me. Speedway is a great sport so badly organised. -

Putin has stolen hundreds of billions from Russia over the years, Donald helped himself to a free plane worth $400 mil so a couple of houses (if true) is small beer in the political corruption spectrum -
I remember when he first came on the scene he looked like the next big thing, heeps of (excuse the pun) natural talent on a bike, from memory he had a couple of bad wrist injuries very early on in his career and was never anymore than bang average past that point when he returned to racing.

Rugby is a contact sport where even players of similar ability get hurt so it is very dangerous to ask players of lesser ability to compete as there is is very high risk of very bad injuries and there is no system to draw players from other teams except the youth teams n your club. Speedway in this country relies on a guest system because it is the only cost effective solution to the problem of injuries. I get your point though and there should be a maximum guest rule otherwise it could be a team full of guests. -
Have a look here, Royal Wootton Bassett Community Facebook this post says it all.(about 30 posts down) and some good replies Speedway is a dreadful idea in this location. RWB is being dumped on by what Swindon doesn’t want. More traffic, more pollution, more flooding in the area and disruption for the wildlife and everything the canal and all the volunteers have worked for (not sure walkers, riders and local wildlife and nesting birds and swans will appreciate the awful noise of a speedway and revving bikes). It’s not just the speedway but the go karting as well which will be noisy and also cause a lot of traffic in an already dangerous roundabout and road system. These posts are so boring, it is the same few people whinging in support of it and just attacking anyone they can who says anything against it (who funnily enough are all speedway racers looking at their pictures) they want to ruin it for the rest of us in our lovely town and people who actually value the countryside and cutting down on traffic in our area. If they had spent as much time complaining about the stadium not being rebuilt where it was originally then maybe something would have been done sooner and they would have their old stadium back in their original site rather than letting a developer buy them off and put it elsewhere. Please go to the planning portal to say what a dreadful idea this is for the environment, for the traffic and for local business at this site and make Swindon council take responsibility force the developers to build it where is was previously and not palm it off on RWB.

MPT is a major disappointment for Monarchs so far.Must have been expecting more from him. -
Ipswich have been to Belle Vue 3 times this season (so far). Only 1 Ipswich rider has beat Dan Bewley in those 3 meetings. Would think Ipswich would win but as you say nothing guaranteed (2 seasons ago Ipswich beat Belle Vue when they weren't favoured to do so in the playoffs).

Home win, with the home team getting a 5 1 in heat 15 to steal victory 46 44

I get the context, my point is a sport, that wants to see itself as being taken seriously by the wider sporting public, should not be allowing teams to race for league points when there's only 2 of it's regular members riding. The fact that the rules allow this is why Speedway in the UK is in the state it is. Compare Speedway to a professional sport where their ruling body did step in: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/articles/cjeyz09313do -
Simply because things do happen. At Foxhall recently I could have easily seen the Aces get a 5-1 in Ht13 rather than the other way around. Thompson showed he can register a poor score as can others and I think Aces can beat Ipswich at their place and bring a few points in hand. I'd have put £20 on the Witches reserves outscoring the Aces reserves but they didn't. Speedway can be unpredictable - I though Redcar would muller Plymouth on Saturday but far from it, they nearly lost!

Someone needs to do a bit of investigation digging here and find out who had those leaflets printed and distributed and made sure it hit the local papers, because this has all the hallmarks of a inside hit job

quite looking forward to this, should be a good close competitive match said absolutely no one -
same convo happened last year after getting hammered on aggregate against the challenging teams, same happened in 2022 when we won the play offs in 2021 when Peterborough won, we beat them 4 times out of 4 in league, then play offs they beat us so while yes, i think this is the year that we probably wont change our fortunes, you cant write us off just yet, play offs are a different animal

Why? Appreciate we all have opinions, just interested in your reasoning for this. Belle Vue are simply not as good and by a margin. Of course it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they’d win over two legs, but it will be an upset and against all logical reasoning if they did so with two full strength teams. If Ipswich lose to Belle Vue in the semi final and we are at full strength, then we’ve choked IMO and failed badly as a team.
