The return of Nicki Pedersen to the British League is a much more positive signal for speedway in the Uk than any of the decisions taken at this year's AGM of the BSPA.

Could you quantify how you can claim the 95%? How is this measured? Have you a graph you could show your data on!? Or is this assessment once again like all of your proposed teams, across multiple threads, using multiple aliases, complete conjecture? I’m not the best at maths so this could be the incorrect method but if you’re 95% sure it’ll be one of these two teams, does that mean you’re only 42.5% sure of either team meaning there’s a 57.5% chance that both of them are incorrect?!

I would never boycott my team over an individual rider 2006/7 paying to watch Hamill the spoon week in week out was a bit tricky, but your team is the bigger picture.

Kurtz 7.54 Lidsey 5.16 Wright 6.68 Bewley 6.31 Holder 7.49 Pickering 4.65 Ayres 3.67 Exchanged Sedgman for Pickering - I cannot believe this lad does not have a Premiership place and he'd be fantastic at the NSS - otherwise the same. Ayres would be a brilliant signing and its surprising no one else has mentioned him. Best of all ? 41.5 on the nail (not including reductions for Wright, Bewley and Ayres).

Nicki is box office end of, arguably the most professional for many a year, not the most naturally gifted, but worked very hard to have achieved 3 World titles. Upmost respect for the guy

Well no because they just wont have any home fixtures in the league until they’re 16? It’s quite simple really...

Zaine Kennedy at reserve assuming he’s in the UK next season?

Always dodgy signing a rider coming back from a bad accident, good luck to the lad though.

Out of interest I have just gone over the cubs meetings, home and away. Dan or Joe have beaten Palin. Phillips. Flint. Bickley. J. Smith. Wilson. Ledwith. Gilkes. Rowe. Clegg. Perry. Bailey. At Beaumont park. Bickley. Palin. Phillips. Clegg. J. Smith. Rowe away from home. 6 of those riders have signed for clubs in the CL for next season. With a good chance a few more may follow. With the experience the twins have around BP I don't see them having a problem. They have ridden the track in all sorts of conditions, slick, with dirt, very wet, bone dry, so they really do know it well. Away from home may be more of a challenge, but I am confident they will overcome what ever is thrown at them. It is my understanding they have put, and will continue to put good investment into their equipment for the new season. So from my point of view, I will be backing and encouraging them the best I can.

I recall some years ago that it was stated in the Speedway Star that NP was the only rider that would draw in extra fans on the gate, having a much greater effect than Woffinden who, it was said, would make little difference. Well done Sheffield!

Its not precisely clear from Gambo's post above whether 140 days racing is enough to support a rider for an entire year (or whether he thinks it should be) but if it is, that is a stark contrast with what you are putting forward. Truth is that speedway has always been for the overwhelming number of riders a part time occupation even during the season. I have said this before but Mick Bell, a three time British League winner and a decent reserve/second string in the 1970's, once described it as a 'good paying hobby'. I'll be honest and say that my knowledge of rider pay is minimal, but to repeat again I'll be surprised - very surprised - if most those doubling up between the top two leagues are struggling to survive. The teams that pay them, however, most certainly are and what we cannot have is a situation where clubs are put at risk simply so that riders can use the sport as a full time occupation.

i didn`t know Colin North at all but this year at the British Final I parked up behind a car on the road side. A man got out of the car and opened the boot, I could see it was full of TengTools merchandise of which I spotted some TengTools caps. He picked up some caps and other stuff and began walking off to the stadium, I asked him were the caps for sale he pondered a second and said here you can have one. So I was shocked to see the photo of him on Twitter I will always remember that moment, it was a nice gesture. everytime I put my TengTools cap on I`ll think of him.
