Daft question, maybe, but what has that got to do with Berwick 2024???

There are still opportunities though. So many sports have disappeared behind pay per view, so much rubbish thrust in our faces on terrestrial, I include obscure live FA cup matches controlling the tv schedule all the time. The six nations might be the the next tournament to disappear as it isn't protected like the Rugby World Cup is. I hate football with a passion there are many tens of millions like me out there.

What it does Andy as you well know because it worked for you (Luke) is that the team missing a res now can cherry pick a res from another team who is flying and yet again a rider trying to get a 1st chance like billy and others won’t be asked, stinks, and you know it, denials only add to the problem, it’s a joke, develop not stagnation, if you are missing a res for god sake who cares, put a kid in, if they are tailed off so what, at least they have had a chance and can assess themselves going forward

I think there is much more to it than that. Sitting in a freezing cold stadium for two months of a six months season is not going to get modern punters through the doors, especially the times when you are 30 minutes into the meeting and have only run maybe three or four races due to delays. Most people have fairly comfortable homes these days and a variety of TV channels and choices. It’s not like the ‘50’s when people had at best poorer quality homes and BBC only on TV. No incentive to stay at home in those days. And all that is before we even get to what goes on at the track . Dog racing is the same. There were around 40 dog tracks in London alone in the ‘40’s and 50’s but only one I think left today. People just don’t want that sort of stadium based entertainment anymore. In many ways the sport has shot itself in the foot but I very much doubt whether it would even be big again in the modern world but even if the sport got its act together . I think less and less people want that sort of entertainment.

That’s just splitting hairs, everyone knew what was happening, whoever binman is says it all it’s going to stop clubs from going down the route of using unattached riders unless they have absolutely no choice and when you think there’s only 10 fixtures reserve riders will jump at extra laps

Oh but remember it's not about winning

Your own country should take priority. If you choose to then miss a league match in your own country to ride abroad you should be given a NDL 3.00 guest, not benefit from it.

TJ needs an operation, no guarantee he rides this year at all according to Jamie last night.

Wasn’t committed at Berwick, put no money into machinery for a start, and didn’t want to be there by the end. This is what happens when the Polish clubs can offer 5x as much, the riders, dont care about British Speedway, rightly or wrongly.

The BSN Trophy matches. Will now count towards averages
  13. 1 point
Completely logical (although it really ought to go up gradually to 42) as it reflects the fact that riders averages will go up because of the low starting limit.
  14. 1 point
Averages are total points scored divided by number of rides, multiplied by four.

Happy retirement Hans Andersen, Thank you for everything.

Yes, because it creates publicity before the meeting and increases the attendance at the meeting. If it didn't do either, then I would have thought that Ian Thomas wouldn't have booked any interval attractions.
