How much would it be normally be for 2 adults or 2 adults with 2 children? A bit steep if you normally go on you own. No travel expenses..... If you are a true Glasgow fan you will pay the £11.954 points

If the rules are changing in June to open up, surely it’s better to cancel this meeting completely and put it back to when the stadium can fully re-open.4 points

Some may have seen that I have moaned about this on social media last few days, 18 months break between meetings. Electricity flowing through everyone's veins with excitement. Imagine this. Heat 1. Home rider wins. Crowd go wild. Winner celebrates with the crowd. Oh it's good to be back. Amazing. BUT..... As I said imagine that. Because that diddnt happen at belle vue. Now I understand jye had 2 rides on bounce so we can let him off. But in all the race winners only Bewley come round to take the applause. Fans seem to be invisible to the rider. We want to be entertained not just on track but with wheelies or like cookie does a fake chest pump on the badge. Means alot to the crowd that. When they do a good race and the crowd get excited they just kill any momentum the crowd gained by going straight to pits. . It's takes 30 secs to take the applause. Belle vue are really bad at it. What is your club like. Are you satisfied with the fan/rider interaction or does it not bother you3 points

He's on a hiding to nothing calls it off early, some fans moan, call it off late some fans moan. Meeting abandoned after a few heats and loads of track work, some fans moan. Personally I think its better to make the call earlier and save everyone time and money.3 points

Spectators allowed into Shielfield Park at last! Tickets for Saturday's bumper opening night are on sale from https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/ and clearly going well, as it appears three sections of centre stand seating and two standing areas on the first turn are already are sold out per the site map on booking page. Stringent but sensible rules for attendance are clearly laid down, and should in no way deter anyone who wants to book a ticket from doing so. Meeting has Birmingham Brummies in town, and Belle Vue Colts following on in the second (NDL) match. Tapes up for CL match at 6.30pm sharp! It's been a long time coming!2 points

Not really,, more of a realist, When did he come back into Speedway when he bought Rye House again late 90s early 00s ? How many promoters have been and gone in that time ? People might not like him or his management style but to put it bluntly he must be doing something right2 points

Taken from the website ADMISSION Admission to the stadium for members of the public is through the turnstiles. There are marked lines outside the stadium – please also make sure you are socially distanced as you queue to get into the stadium. Please try to avoid turning up at the last moment. For those who have ordered their tickets online (which we recommend), please bring your ticket with you – either a physical copy or on your phone. The QR code (the matrix barcode) will be scanned to allow you entry to the stadium – please present to the staff at the entry point at the Eddie Wright Raceway and please also collect your programme. Please note that cash admission is also available – we will have one of the turnstile booths open for cash transactions. But those opting for cash payment will have to write down their address and details when they pay, so the quicker and preferred option is online payment.2 points

get your facts right i am not defending anyone . you obvious know more about poole speedway than i do2 points

Before you start accusing dan you really ought to get your homework right first 0/10 for that statement2 points

Haven't Newcastle got the same structure? ie blocks of six being sold.. The bottom line is that such low capacities need to have their returns maximised... And to be fair to the teams faced with these reductions, many actually have a much less supply of tickets available than the demand from the fans. (For once). Therefore they could have gone down the route of increasing admission by a more higher amount than they have.. In a block of six if only one person wants a ticket would they be prepared to pay the £108 that the block should deliver? I wouldnt think so.. You can rent an 8 bedroom villa in Spain for £4000 which could cost £500 each or £4000 for one.. Either way the owner needs £4000 for it.. Not ideal granted and it may mean some regulars dont get to go to every meeting, but much worse is a track closing due to being unable to financially keep going.. And if that happened no one would be able to buy tickets even in 'blocks of one'...2 points

That’s not the Speedway way. This is another typical British speedway own goal. The usual motto of Pi$$ off your regulars for short term gain has been applied yet again, it seems.2 points

Your call Steve but I completely understand why Poole are doing it this way to maximise income from a very limited capacity. If they sell a single £18 ticket in a block that’s £90 income lost to them (and a further 84% reduction in capacity). As for the difference with Plymouth, I don’t know but might it be because of the inside accommodation at Poole?2 points

Once again you show total disregard for the rules laid down by the "decision makers" who are doing this in the interests of the safety of the majority . It is just another indication of your selfishness & complete lack of concern for others, almost as bad as your rants over brexit.2 points

Whoever has decided this is the way forward has, in my opinion, got it completely wrong. I would urge those that do make them look at the way Plymouth have done it. It is so, so simple and from personal experience, very effective. Not going down well with those Ive spoken to either.2 points

Schroeck used to come out with the same nonsense when he was TM at Rye House. Awful TM who is afraid to take reserves out of rides and completely miss T/S opportunities.2 points

i'll wait until they accept cash at the door. I had a look at that ticketing web site, and if they are splashing people's names and booking information on their web site, then that's a GDPR nightmare waiting to explode. I'm not trusting my credit card details to a web site with such a cavalier attitude to personal data protection.1 point

Always liked when Zorro got Matty Ferjan to do the dance with him.....And who can forget Adam Skornicki doing a donut around a dancing Zorro in 2008...Crowd loved it1 point

And very good when it happens. When we had double headers with Somerset on the Friday and then Rye House on the Saturday, if Len thought there was doubts about his meeting he used to ring us to tell us that on the Friday night. He then used to follow that up with a phonecall after breakfast on the Saturday morning, and if he called it off, it allowed the Newcastle team, and our travelling supporters, to head on home saving us considerable time and petrol money. I could always trust Len with his calloffs.1 point

Oh come on, you take risks with this sort of thing when travelling to away meetings with rain offs etc.1 point

Oh yeah! Great personality and if you go and talk to him after the meeting he will speak to you like your his best friend! Craig Watson was like that too1 point

Speedway isn’t football. I am going to Plymouth and Eastbourne next week. Had no issues booking single tickets. I have made the call re: tickets at Poole. And we have just booked two tickets for Birmingham away.1 point

Its Matt that has been doing the negotiating!! Believe it or not there are communication links between France and UK!!! A number of other clubs are operating a similar 'block' approach - I guess it depends on exactly what reduced capacity each club is operating to and who sets that capacity? Its just as well Matt retains good relationships with BCP Council as I hear that its mainly down to their pressure that the stadium will open at all!! Anyway all season ticket holders have been emailed today (or if no email then a tele call in next 24 hours).1 point

As was almost inevitable, little planning for re opening the speedway has taken place. NHS covid testing in the grandstand ( been there for a while ?) some half baked ideas about groups of 6 only due to crowd limits (no surprise crowd limits ?) In fact no planning at all for the possible scenarios has taken place. Trust to luck seems the order of the day. Guess they will be OK if they miss the p. Offs and get KOd from the KO cup in round one. Dan Ford clearly hasn’t ever looked at his crowd and spotted the number of solo supporters that attend, and meet up socially at the stadium . Poor promoting. Matt wouldn’t be impressed .... guess he has his own problems with his Chateau now in deepest France . Sad to see what was once the UK’s best run club in such a mess.1 point

Most over 50's have had the vaccine now and I think the uptake in the SW is 91/92% going by the news last night so as long as people in that age group can show they have had the vaccine can they not stand together??1 point

And by the middle of June the Govt will be able to see the impact the May 17th restriction easing has had on the Covid infection rate... If it has gone up then it would be unlikely to see June 21 going back to 'normal'...1 point

With only six teams every match won't be far off being a top of the table clash...1 point

Who’s to say this is the club’s decision, perhaps this is Osbourne and the councils, at least it’s only one meeting providing the government stick to opening up the country, at least speedway is back at Poole that is the main part.1 point

Don't be mean, Rob surely knew he was on dodgy ground when he googled broadslide and all it came up with was the option to automatically change it to broadside, or that magazine link. It was broadside when I was a kid and it's never changed.1 point

As a neutral I enjoyed the match and thought the track staff did a wonderful job. I did think there were lots of people there and on the busy back straight there was only limited enforcement of face masks that was worrying.1 point

I think Nige and Kelvin do a really good job. They're enthusiastic and entertaining and if they were replaced by someone else you'd really then appreciate how good they actually are. Just my opinion.1 point

As far as I am aware stadiums can hold 50% of capacity. I was there and if that is the case no problems with braking covid rules as although a good crowd it definitely was not more than half full. some just want to slag off promoters1 point

The Manager might be pleased but I bet the man that pays his wages isn’t. A home defeat always costs bums on seats for the next meeting. How can anyone be pleased in getting beat at home by the team you will be fighting with to avoid the wooden spoon.?1 point

Peter Craven set the record when the track measured 354 yards. I believe there were minor alterations made for 1973, with the length reduced to 350 yards.1 point
