I personally think its shocking how Scunthorpe have announced all this about Allen whilst he is still competing in the play offs for Redcar. Just sums up what a terrible chairman Godfrey really is.5 points

Some very good points made tonight at the meeting & thanks must go to John Courtney who spoke very well & to Steve Brock for getting it all together .. good evening it was4 points

Even Oxford fans don't want Swindon to close, but you have to be a realist where Gaming International are concerned.3 points

Glad the Aces have gone with RR... The sport is Mickey Mouse enough as it is without a Semi Final being influenced 'for one night only' by someone from a team that failed to qualify.. You should win or lose as a team... Incredible to believe I know... But bad luck and injuries affect other sports too.... Not just (UK) Speedway...3 points

A year of high quality entertainment at the MPA and still at least one more fixture to go home and away. Who would you like to see at Redcar next season? For me it's the following AGM permitting Wright K.Andersen MPT/Kerr Stefan Nielsen/Jordan Stewart Riss Jenkins Kemp/Sarj2 points

Having spent many happy evenings at Blunsden I think that it's an absolute disgrace the way Swindon fans have been toed along...and that's from an Oxford fan the enemy down the road!2 points

The future of the Diamonds is looking rosey. Rumour has it that a certain gentleman is confident of selling a nearby football club to an Arab buyer and is keen to maintain a sporting interest in the area by making Granty an offer for the club that he will not be able to refuse. Can’t say too much more at this stage, but the future ‘Sports Direct Diamonds’ are likely to be awash with cash and ready to recruit Europe’s finest riders. Team manager cannot be named, but we shall refer to him as ‘Brucie’, has no experience in the sport but has blagged his way through football management for years apparently. Box ticked. His tactical approach will be to aim for 3-3s in every heat and wait for the opposition to make mistakes to gain heat advantages.2 points

Yes but we have always been led to believe that our time is limited at Brough and in the long term we need to look for another site. More rumours about rumours at the moment.2 points

I think most fans were never to worried about a new stadium and were more than happy to stay in the old one . Of course a new Stadium looked like it would secure a long time future for the sport in the town but of course Gam int have plotted, hoodwinked and conned every one as they do every time useing the building of the New Stadium to stop Swindon from running hoping to kill the club off so they can knock the old Stadium down with no one caring enough anymore to stop them . As i said already said its matter of time before the work will stop for some reason stopping us from running in 2023 as well2 points

Really god most Robins fans have trusted people and in LIFE in general.I believe the Robins are finished, i was deluded thinking that things would work out in my heart wanted things to pan out well .I can’t see it now houses to be built on the Abbey soon it will be demolished when it suits them.2 points

Predictable? Yes (without Laguta) but boring? Some really good battles tonight. You should be grateful that you are not watching Vetlanda vs Rospiggarna. That would have been boring.2 points

Oxford would be better off following the isle of Wight style of meetings, it has to be better than the BSPL2 points

Its been sad from start to finish from the club ....Still not one person will say how it is or question it .2 points

Going by that theory you or I should have a place in the GP series Both of his podiums came on his home track, yes for a wildcard in Poland, no for a wildcard for the whole series imo2 points

How come it’s open 5 days a week during construction for greyhound racing yet speedway can’t return til building is completed. Why can’t the stadium be closed on the back straight while the new stand is erected. Once that is up and running then you could close the other half of the stadium and demolish the old stand. it’s not difficult2 points

Potentially there could be 4 newcomers each year, 3 from GP Challenge and 1 as Euro Champ, that is more then 25% of the field. I am happy with the current system which takes top 6 auto for next year and selectors pick 5, which potentially could be 5 newcomers through to 5 from the current year who are still of the right quality, and anything in between those extremes. Very flexible, I am ok with it.2 points

Maybe, maybe not The ice speedway world championships has become more and more limited in that respect as the majority of the worlds best riders belong to one country, Russia. So limits are put on the number of Russians, to keep it a ‘world’ championship, in the sense that they want to keep as much of the world involved and interested and financially active The Football world finals also limit the amount of countries from the strongest continent (s) to give the rest of the world the chance to participate There are some merits in this2 points

Its easy, 5 from last season drop Theo and Tero replace with Josh Auty and Jake Allen. Sorted as long as the figures fit.1 point

My point still stands though, the stadium will not allow you to happily source a new venue, they will cut all ties and leave the promotion without anywhere to race.1 point

Apart from the press release he made saying he wanted to look for a new place to build the track1 point

Just spotted this: Taken off Facebook: Important Statement from Rob Grant: In regards to the fan-lead meeting that took place at South Gosforth Social Club last night, club promoter Rob Grant would like to release the following statement, "Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting at South Gosforth Club last night. I am sorry I couldn’t attend but I have been told there were a lot of positive suggestions from the meeting. One suggestion I must address though is that at this present time and in the future as long as I am the owner of Newcastle Diamonds Ltd, we will be racing from Brough Park. I have a very good relationship with the owners and staff of the stadium and see no reason to be looking for, or to build a new stadium. I hope this clears the situation regarding raising funds to build elsewhere. As always, I wish to thank everyone for their continued support of Newcastle Speedway and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our end of season celebration on the 12th November. Pretty sure that is the case ,except in exceptional circumstances ( which this may be considering a new promotion might be coming in and might be given more time to sort things out)1 point

It’s been mentioned that they wanted to bring in Polish League only but that was just a rumour and although not confirmed, looks set to continue as it was in 20211 point

Makes sense, one tie is done and dusted while the other is in the balance if not totally so.1 point

After 3 years away, it will require a mammoth effort to get people interested in going again as they will have found other things to do on a Thursday evening. Plus the people in the new houses will have some justification in complaining about the noise!1 point

Well Done Belle Vue, I cannot see us pulling this one out of the bag, we were for the big underdogs to win the play offs, so was not expecting us to win this Semi. But I thought we could have at least win the home leg. This result sums up our season inconsistent. If as I suspect Peterborough win the Semi I can see Belle Vue beating them over two legs in the Final. As for Jack Holder not shaking hand or acknowledging opponents after the race frankly I don't care, as long as he is racking up the points for the team and acknowledger's the crowd I am happy. And hopefully we can have Jack back in the team next season. Add Adam Ellis, Josh Pickering and Stefan Nielsen to the team sheet next season. Lets see what the points limit is for next season who I think that we need to add to the team. Finally good luck to the Aces for the Final, and hopefully they can get that Play Off Final win.1 point

As I said a few days ago, top 8 safe for next season, rest will have to qualify with one wild card reserved if one of the regular happens to get injured. If a rider doesn't manage top 8 and doesn't manage to qualify or don't bother to enter qualifiers then that one have to sit out a year.1 point

400 plus miles there and back in October? With only a 50/50 chance of meetings taking place this month I would say if the past couple if weeks are anything to go by.. Going to the SON both days and that is a ten mile round trip. And that gives me doubts...1 point

As was proven by the huge crowd at the GB/Australia Test, people will turn out in their droves to see top names they cannot expect to watch in regular action. The names of Tai and Bartoz (five World titles!) alone will pull them in, and having the rest of their nations' SON squads on parade as well is just icing on the cake. Full marks to Allied, and to Team GB for honouring their sponsorship. Can't wait!1 point

The timing of the building work is perfect from Gaming int ...Means that Swindon wont know if the work will done in time meaning they have to say they can't run in 2022 . Another year then go's by and people lose even more interest before they find another reason next year .1 point

If you talk to the older riders including Briggo they will tell you how they bought in 'special' engines for the big events, hired from the likes of Lattenhammer who had set them up for a specific rider and track. I know the 'special ones' who were handicapped for a season were set against it because it meant they had to spend far too much money on motors. Without doubt the engines they used in the leagues would have been much more standard and for all except the busiest looked after by the riders themselves. Colin Cook told us how he had an 897 Jawa and only adjusted the tappets using it home and away for every meeting of the season.1 point
