  1. Don't think any of the above is unreasonable to expect from any promotion to be honest.

  3. Brennan definitely touched Kyle. Was a racing move don't get me wrong, no bad intent, but the correct call was made

  4. Just put transponders on the bikes then there would be no argument who got to the finish line first. You would also get accurate race times. They've had them on the karts on the racetrack next to Redcar speedway for years.

  5. Common sense comments then... Get the fundamental basics correct first..

  6. Just bullet pointing roughly what was said- Started off wishing all the best for Auty. Said a meeting being abandoned after 2 races for a straight forward crash is unacceptable. He's sick of turning up at tracks and finding them operating with the bare minimum of medical cover. Believes that the authorities should step in and insist on having two paramedics and ambulances before a meeting should start. Understands that medical cover doesn't come cheap but should be the first item on each clubs budget at the start of the season.

  7. Other thing about last night is should book that ref for all the double headers.Just about had the 2 minutes on when the previous race riders were coming round bend 4 on their last lap

  9. I hope this ok to post - we have created a JustGiving page to raise donations for Josh Auty who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his leg at Birmingham earlier this week. Please could you donate if you are able and also share the link to try and help spread the word? https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/joshautyfundraiser Thank you!

  16. Who would have thought a team with five second strings and two reserves would not have won a competitive match? Answer: pretty much everybody really

  17. I don’t get what’s in it for Glasgow to consider moving to the Premiership though? Smaller league, more costs, no local matches… what am I missing?

  18. Let's hope it doesn't take as long to get 'Terry' or someone similar in as it did for Poole, was at least ten years of bumps and holes wasn't it? Might have been longer.

  19. If the producers of Speedway Star magazine read this please can you look at reverting the cover of the magazine to what it used to be. What I mean by that is reflecting the events of the day. Have the latest grand prix winner etc on the cover and make it relevant to the news of the week. The front page format you have been using over the last few years is boring and uninspiring. I used to buy the magazine every week religiously but now only buy it periodically. Please change the front cover back. It used to be like a souvenir back in the day following a World Final or Grand Prix. P.S This weeks cover should have been Nigel Pearson rather than just a small pic of him. Just Saying.

  20. To put it in football terms with reference to my own club... It was like sacking Giovanni van bronckhorst and replacing him as manager with renowned kit man Jimmy bell.

  21. They did a good job and had lots of enthusiasm which is always a big plus. No criticism from me, just observation. Keep up the good work and I will tune in again later in the season.

  24. After all my talk last week, I WILL be going this week. We have a bit of spare time and money today so we can afford the trip. I just hope it's a classic meeting and we get some news about whoever Brad's replacement is??? I need to fall in love with Newcastle speedway again...

  25. Thought they said it was to get all the sponsor group around whatever they do an then into their box.Ref didn't come back from pits to ref box till near enough 7.15 either so maybe "discussions" in pits possibly over who was eligible for r/r rides. At least it was a lovely warm night to sit waiting.

  26. Your observations are out of date. The changes made to both shape & size since it was laid out now produce comparable racing to almost every other uk track (a few exceptions) The issue now is the inconsistency of surface - too many bumps and holes in key areas which need to be addressed.

  27. You're missing a big part. Nigel only died on Friday and the Speedway Star is signed off on a Monday. Very hard to get a full tribute done for him when the majority of the magazine is written. Not only that, every single writer for the magazine will have been hugely affected by his passing, as they're all his colleagues!! It has been said that next week will be all about Nigel, which will allow them to get the tribute he deserves.

  28. One of the biggest disappointments is the Leicester track. They had a blank canvas and came up with that.

  29. Excellent meeting, but why do we have to wait until 7.15 for the 1st heat.

  30. I don't understand that comment, Congreave is averaging less than a point & Sedgmen is 5.5, so clearly he's a lot stronger! "Even Justin Sedgmen would be better" sound to me like you think Sedgmen would get a 1.5 ave?

  32. Mr Worrall by any chance? His name got announced and he didn't acknowledge the crowd or anything was too busy being pushed off by his mechanic.

  33. Same here... Rob watching from the back straight miles away from the riders, rather than in the pits stirring them on... It would be hard to throw a number out, but we arrived at 10 to and our ticket numbers were in the 400s... Still think a lot of people come in for free through the pits... Even 500 fans is woeful, even for a National League side... Must admit my patience for George is running out rapidly, surely there's a better option out there... Even Justin Sedgmen would be better... At least it would put James at reserve for a month or so... And the BWD scenario is just getting silly now...

  36. I have been to Leicester about ten times now. I have to say it was so bad that I swore I would never go back. It was gate, hold your position out of bend two and that was that. The promotion first of all denied there was anything wrong with the track. Totally in denial. But finally they brought the bends in and racing did fractionally improve. It took a while but last season I saw a very good meeting there, and the playoff semi had lots of passing. This season there was again passing, but the track was rough on the first and second bends. Need Terry, our track guy, to be employed to get it like he has got Wimborne Road. And to think. They could have put in a Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz, but instead got it so wrong it’s impossible to actually believe.

  37. Kyle Howarth got it spot on a couple of weeks ago in hie post match interview. He said the more you attack the track, the more you get out of it. There have been some cracking races there this season. Unfortunately, all teams are not equal.

  38. I am quessing its down to cameras being available? we have 3 filming so a 4th may be needed as they are in place. I asked why they go to the track for 4.30pm as i normally take Dan and was told it is to talk to riders and do a track walk.I dont know the technical side of the stream and yet to watch so dont know if the interviews or track walk could be done on a mobile phone then uploaded in time for 7pm ish?.The more they do the easier it will get as they are young lads and from what i hear on the "terracing" is all positive so a massive well done.

  39. Simon is riding with a proper no1 & around our place 2nd & 3rd is what he is hoping for in each race. Kennedy was firing so even that heat is difficult to win. He is scoring points, not finishing last & doing a Captains job. I even saw him in last weeks match after the incident with Aarnio & Worrall have a group huddle/talk.

  41. Think we all realise that a Wednesday race night was an issue for him. Throw into the mix a bigger club wanted him in Glasgow then it was a no brainier.

  42. I thought last night that Glasgow would’ve given Leicester a run for their money. However, heats 8-10 swung the meeting in Leicester’s favour. Worrall easily took care of the tac sub ride in heat 11, which pretty much ruled Glasgow out of clawing any substantial points from the meeting. A decent meeting again last night, with Heat 14 being the stand out. Fair play to the Thompson twins for getting back underneath Basso going into turn one on lap 4. https://www.facebook.com/100000825907564/posts/5059145770789570/?d=n Kerr was a more than able replacement for Howarth, and he had a couple of good rides against Brennan and Ostergaard in heats 9 and 12 respectively.

  45. What is interesting about this change in admission policy is how few clubs have the guts to admit what they have done. I looked at 2022 progs from 6 tracks (Inc Birmingham) and only one (Newcastle) actually stated what the 'new we rip you off' readmission policy was

  47. Yeh I got the racing at Odsal / The Shay the wrong way around, s'what happens when you post when supposed to be working. i.e staring into, rather than at, the screen to check no-one is standing behind. Racing at the Shay prob looked more spectacular as you could get more than up close and personal, was my first permitted away trip as a youngster; "no Halifax isn't far, I won't be back late" (nor from Berwick, Coventry, King's Lynn, Reading, Swindon, etc, etc, LOL!). Would welcome speedway back at Odsal, you never know, always enjoyed my visits there....
