Some Poole fans have such short memories yes apart from probably 3 races last night wasn't a great meeting but only a couple of weeks ago Poole v Berwick was live on bsn and that was an awful meeting which had absolutely no passing.9 points

Am I the only one on ere that actually attended both Edinburgh & Berwick? Being there & soaking up the atmosphere, chatting to people & enjoying a fantastic Northern break makes a hell of a lot of difference to those of u that watch on a computer. Whilst streaming is a valued financial input for club's it's no replacement to actually being there. All I hear from the stay aways streaming folk is how boring yawn etc these meetings were. For me, being there made all the difference as I thoroughly enjoyed both meetings & getting to meet & chat to riders & management in the pits. Fantastic Tour7 points

Wonder who the reserve is we had? Seems good. Could he not have had one of Masons rides also?4 points

How many posts by shove-it-up-your-ar*e complaining about how poor the racing was? Give it a rest, you got a lucky draw. Yeah, the racing wasn’t great, but that’s been the exception rather than the rule this season.4 points

Go and crawl back under your rock, if you’re commenting about Birmingham in such a way it’s not welcome and quite frankly it’s embarrassing. If any sports tried running next door to a once in a lifetime event for the city they would be mad, even Manchester United didn’t play few years ago when the games were at ethid, are you questioning them?? Do one idiot3 points

The night of the men's and womens 100 metre semi finals and finals. Also 2x T20 Cricket matches at Edgbaston Anyone trying to run Speedway that night would deserve certifying. Right decision by Brummies.3 points

Havvy is a terrible team manager always gets it wrong. Could have won last night with better changes.3 points

Would definitely recommend a visit to Oxford for those fans that dont have a local speedway team to watch. Quite a few Robins fans there from Swindon and district, plus other former nearby clubs such as Reading and Coventry. A few from London and south-east as well. Good stadium, easy access, good facilities, some good racing, and big crowd around 2000 with noisy atmosphere. With Newcastle closing with crowds of less than 400, and general negativity surrounding British league speedway it's good to see this success story in central-southern England.2 points

When speedway has fans like you in no time at all your going to be on a netball forum complaining about that because the likes of you will have finally finished speedway off and you won’t have this forum to spout your stuff, if you don’t like the way the club is run fair enough but it’s not your concern is it2 points

It's hard not to agree with a lot of this tbh, but the biggest problem speedway has is that its a very niche and minority sport nowadays. All the PR in the world isn't going to pack stadiums out anymore, everyone knows this and this is why promoters won't throw money at it, it's a pointless exercise. The other sports you mentioned are known by nearly every person alive and that's where you get huge demand and interest. Although streaming is a modern concept for speedway, I can't see how it will attract any new people. All it will do is keep regular fans at home where they haven't got the hassle of traffic, parking, delays, rider absence at the last minute or a rain off at 7.28pm. A Barry Hearn type would fail to find anything to turn the sport around because there are so many pitfalls they wouldn't know where to start. It's probably best being an amateur sport with clubs being able to survive on the few hundred paying customers that are left and the riders doing it as a hobby with enough to cover expenses.2 points

Needs to go to 2 Leagues - A professional League of all the clubs that can afford it at a level similar to the current Championship and call it the British League. 6 man teams will help as regards the rider shortage. A second tier at a level a bit higher than the present NL retaining the NL name. Only Commonwealth and British riders can ride in this League.2 points

No denying that Berwick were very unlucky last night not to win the meeting after Chris Harris`s clutch gave up the ghost, now to find Danny King suffered a puncture in the same race just compounds the bad luck, still never mind, you`ve got to give Poole credit fighting back from ten down to a draw. One or two iffy refereeing decisions to, I was surprised that Danny King received a warning at the start of Ht15 for moving when I saw no movement, maybe referee was just catching up with things as the same rider got away with a clear jump start in Ht3. All in all Berwick yet again failed to win a home meeting, their season is now dependant on making up the points against Redcar next Saturday.2 points

A number of people have told you already but you are still banging the anti-greyhound agenda on a speedway forum. While you may be passionate about that subject, it is hardly a topic for this forum. We want Swindon Speedway back and that means having the dogs too - as it has been for most of the last 50 years! If you want to talk about speedway then please do but keep your anti-greyhound agenda to yourself please as you have already had more pages on the subject than I care to read!2 points

There was a few Poole fans on back straight last night, fair play to you all, a long way, but a nice weekend for it2 points

To be honest they should have been thinking about a replacement for Niels when he first signed. Not once was it stated he was here for the season so we could have been left in the $h!t at any point. That point has been the last few weeks and at present. Not enough forward thinking/planning which is likely to finish our season early again. With NKI present at every match we could have been doing a lot better. Most certainly would have bagged 3/4pts at Peterborough which would have made the table look much better. Personally I don't believe in too much in what Allitt says.2 points

And some wouldn't do that on the basis that you are telling potential car thieves how long they have before you'll be returning to your car....2 points

15 i believe. Skill set is good and perhaps the more experienced riders should have just given him more room? Big future ahead though and will be a big signing next year for someone.1 point

So with the Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham, just up the road, from Thursday the 28th of July to Monday the 8th of August in the height of the British summer, I assume the Brummies promotion is in full swing in trying to attract along some of the thousands of visiting people in the city and some of the athletes just a stones throw away from the stadium... by holding some kind of spin off Commonwealth Riders Championship, a money spinning meeting to boost the coffers? Oh, hang on... AUGUST Wed 03 - NO MEETING - HOME1 point

Lack of Heat winners at our home track has been a problem.Only 6 tonight and Bomber had 3 of them.Always going to be a tight match.1 point

Didn't think a draw was an unfair result tbh. Berwick's team aside from Harris was very hit and miss, whereas Poole's top 3 always kept them close. They were unlucky to lose it with Harris's ef, but then he wasn't under power first time around so that's life. Not a brilliant meeting but the second half of it was better, first live speedway for a while and I actually really enjoyed it. Will be back.1 point

Bomber was sublime, but he was lucky the ref red lighted the 1st start in Heat 15 as it looked like he engine failed just as the lights come on so he got a second chance in which he did EF.His pass on Worrel in heat 13 was class though.1 point

And aren't you an absolute charmer!! A very lucky draw for Poole who didn't deserve it IMO! On the plus side for us is how much more competitive Theo and Ricky were... They've had some rough meetings but that was better! And Bomber, other than his clutch stinking out the air, was simply sublime once again! Leon blew his 2nd engine in 2 days.. expensive time for him! Hopefully we can perform the miracle of miracles next week and keep our season churning on!1 point

Don't entirely agree with you as sitting in the stand we were getting plastered with mud first 4/5 heats before the dust appeared. Heat 15 was verging on dangerous though, Richie can't have seen a thing coming out turn 2. Thankfully the GP challenge is a 7pm start so shouldn't have same issues1 point

Havelock is by far the worst team manager tactically. Put himself into a corner in heat 14 with both pirates needing a third and final ride. And was Bomber under power when the last heat was stopped ??? I’d have been straight onto the referee1 point

Roasting hot?? Puzzling!! The BSN team were wrapped up in anoraks with the hoods up. But Dave & Graham in the after match Friday Focus were in their short sleeve shirts - no jackets/coats. BSN must just be the southern softies. (Is this a racist comment nowadays?!!)1 point

Yeah and gone are the days when things like the League Riders' Championships were prestigious and meant something. The doubling up has taken away the glory of the sport where riders now ride against team mates in different race jackets every other night. Cash is king these days.1 point
-
To be fair, when you look at the original GB team, you could say Lambert is replacing Bewley; Connor is replacing Palin and Richie Worrall replacing Howarth; so not much difference from the original team. Obviously we all wanted to see Dan AND Lambert riding but hey ho, you can't fault Dan in this.1 point
