Quite an achievement for Plymouth to reach the playoffs with 2 matches to spare. 6th place would be preferred finish for easiest quarter final, Edinburgh would be alot tougher especially if sam masters is fit. On the other hand it would be nice to stop Redcar making the playoffs just to p*** Bellers101 off.

And all with the blessings of those who run the sport... Which is sadly why the sport isnt taken seriously in the UK..

Not the worst meeting you are likely to see but Scunthorpe were always on the back foot with turning up without a genuine No1 capable of winning races. The others did their best but were never in any danger of getting any points.

On the subject of Aces leadership it was really really hard not to like this guy even though probably wanted to lol. Said what he thought, to everyone. I remember winning 2 free tickets after answering questions about the aces. I was 19 and went to the office to claim my prize and JP looked at me with my stupid long hair at the time and said how the f…… did you know the answers to those questions???? Thanks for that. I was trying to remember Fridays times. So sticking the full GP riders on a 2valve Jawa would mean they would be going a bit slower, probably require more skill to pass, cost would be thousands of £’s less to riders/promotors.

Fine seasons for Barker, Bowtell and Gilkes until circumstances intervened. Morley exceeding expectations when called upon. Hans not always banging in the big points but playing a unifying captains role throughout. Injury plagued season for MPT that’s prevented him getting in his stride. A tantalising glimpse of what he could offer before being sent into the fence at Wimborne road. But obviously only the guests that have got us to the playoffs eh!! Still hopefully a chance that Eddie’s available before the end of the now extended season. Those of us that have seen him dominate around the Coliseum know what he’s capable of and that on that form few guests would have matched him.. Doubters will doubt and I guess we’ll never know how it could have played out. The deserter being the only proven error in judgement of the starting seven. So, onto the playoffs! Still the un-fancied underdogs. Let’s go and ruffle the plumage of the leagues elite.

Kennett would have been replaced by now if he hadn't got injured, they have done well to get away with guests all season, must be a very cost effective way of running the team.

If that is the standard to judge by then Discovery Sports Events will have a much bigger problem with the attitude of Discovery Sports Events. Discovery did not even put a story on the official website until this morning. Even just the scores were not put on it until long after the meeting finished, if not this morning too. Looking at the official site during a round, the only way you would know the meeting is taking place is the countdown being at zero. Assuming it does not automatically start counting down the next round. When BSI ran it, the site had live scores during the meeting, but Discovery only do that on their app. And that app is only a phone app. I did not have a scorecard but was make notes on my iPad as I followed it last night (before remembering running scores had no baring on the overall championship!) and needed to use the app to check back on scores. Because it is designed for phones it wasted most of the screen and could only fit 9 riders and 4 heats on the screen at a time. Even when viewed on the phone the design is just too much wasted space and could easily show 8 heats and possible all he riders. This is a truly awful way of spreading the sport, just a badly designed app. A web site should come first as it can be accessed on any device, will easily adapts to suit them all, and will be found by anyone searching Google or whatever to find out more about speedway. Which is where the new horizons will be found. Anyone who had just caught it on TV and wanted to know more will be look at their web site, not on an app they do not have, and even many speedway fans will not have bothered to install. But that app is the only thing Discovery update on a Saturday evening. I have no idea who would be looking on the British Speedway site instead of the official one to find out about a Grand Prix. But why should the BSPL be expected to do what even the promoters of the series cannot be bothered with?
