Deal has been agreed, official announcement from the club on its way. https://theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2022/10/monarchs-look-set-for-armadale-reprieve/?fbclid=IwAR0Ev3wSnFhxZdO5fTgAKF8khpmb2LAFZUTAVJYBfnr-MsiV_QWKPg3xI9k6 points

Think he will get a lifetime ban if he withholds his services whilst on honeymoon !!5 points

You fear those last three heats could cost Leicester. A lot depends on the state of the track Saturday, if its a wet mess all home advantage will be lost. As for Howarth, if he is getting married then absolutely a guest should be allowed, this final should have been ridden weeks ago.5 points

Shovlar bingo:- Massive crowd Great racing Poole underdogs Leicester's to lose now Better than the premiership final Coming to a post near you soon5 points

Just got back from meeting the true "LEGEND" of British Speedway that is PC... A phrase far too often overused but one million per cent applicable on this occasion... A good crowd it appeared so hopefully he will make a good few quid from the book.. And he looked really well, which was also great to see... PC....4 points

And who are we waiting for to conclude the season? Oh yeah Leicester3 points

Maybe they are using the Garry May pad of medical certificates - surprised he's got any left to be honest?!3 points

Why on earth would that be? There is no problem at all with stadium availability, we run into November, simple as that, you guys set that precedent last year3 points

There are only two types of fans aren't there? 'Poole fans' and 'fans of whoever Poole are riding against'. Don't think any 'neutral' fans exist.3 points

Another British final farce this, fans stood around while BSPL/SCB decide what to do with tie2 points

Yup, we've been waiting since September the 24th for you to sort yourselves out. For some unknown reason you decided to prioritise a benefit meeting and the KO Cup over the pay offs!2 points

Playoffs have been going for 20 years and have been the best thing to happen to the sport. Bloody love them, even when we finished top in 2010 and lost to a team 24 points behind us. Massive crowds, thrills and winners crowned Champs. Nothing better.2 points

Really it’s a sideshow how for instance can a team that finishes 6th potentially be crowned champions. We need to get back to simplifying the sport and that means league winners are champions. This season has been a farce stumbling from one balls up to another , fixture planning has been shambolic and it needs sorted. Just how I see it following Speedway can frustrate the life out you as it continually shoots itself in the foot.2 points
-
That’s simply not true. We want champions who ever it is. No point participating in a sport if there’s no winner. Winning is everything.2 points

Just abandon the season,no one really cares anymore.Trophies mean nothing, the fans that’s left just want to watch racing.2 points

If the tie cannot be held by 31 October, because both Clubs have been unable to fulfil all fixtures it should revert to league tale Champions are Leicester Runners Up are Glasgow.2 points

You're forgetting the tides, when there's a high tide the Leicester track doesn't drain that well I though it was a couple of fans... can't really remember tbh2 points

They will have a guest as he is signed off medically.2 points

Due to clear in next we mins to leave a dry and breezy day. Dry all day tomorrow. Looks like Leicester riders will be greeted by a differently prepared track on Saturday, similar to what the Poole riders had to face last night, which gives an advantage to the away side.2 points

Simon Lambert missed a meeting for Peterborough at Workington i believe as he was getting married, a guest facility was granted for his absence due to the fact his wedding was obviously arranged well in advance and the meeting he was unavailable for was a rearranged meeting due to the original dste being called off, as Howarth is getting married in Mexico the facility should be available also to Leicester.2 points

Have just been looking at the fixture list and there's something like 13 meetings being ran in 10 days at this time of year, and a few of those are double headers. It's wet, cold, damp etc and the fans are expected to see the pinnacle of the season in conditions which is a lottery. Madness and laughable.2 points

A speedway rider getting married in October on their teams race night is a bit ridiculous!2 points

I disagree, to get closer racing you want the gap from the top riders & bottom riders to be closer together.2 points

Fantastic news. Hopefully with this agreed, they can work again on a proper home. Is there any remote chance of buying the current site? Plenty of space around the track to make it a bit wider and generally better for racing, if only the place was their’s.1 point

Poole had probably their best attendance of the season on Wednesday, so playoffs (and finals) are certainly a financial benefit to clubs that are in them. For example Leicester will benefit from 3 coachloads of Poole fans plus many travelling independently who wouldn't necessarily all go to a normal league meeting.1 point

Leicester won the league who cares who wins over a two legged winter competition. Next season needs to change no enforced breaks in the Summertime and whoever finishes top at the end of the Marathon wins the league. Not whoever wins a two legged sprint.1 point

Well done Lynn, pointless stopping Edwards getting 12 rides for Mildenhall, for the sake of getting ONE ride in the Pairs!1 point

Year 20223, that a long way off! Seriously though, good to hear that Edinburgh are able to ride next season1 point

If the Monarchs really are running in 2023 then i want my money back for the ticket i purchased for the 'Farewell to Armadale' meeting. Has nobody heard about the Trade Descriptions Act of 1968 concerning misleading claims about products and services...?1 point

Either way whoever wins the play offs the lions will be champions in my mind. Leicester - league champions Poole/Leicester - play off winners1 point

KL have released Edwards from their line-up, so that he can ride for Mildenhall. Apparently BSPL had insisted he turn out for the Stars because Prem has priority - but common sense has prevailed1 point

By the way Phil I'm very annoyed with you now You've forced me to defend Sheffield and now I feel ill1 point

Over a full season I’d bet my last Rolo Doyle would have the higher average. No doubt in my mind whatsoever. Exactly.1 point
