Well this is the question..Why would Swindon lose more money than other clubs who are tenants to a landlord...They are still are one of the Best supported clubs in the UK.. Now if Russell thinks that he will lose money at the Abbey then give the chance to let someone else who might be able to balance the books..Of course we know the reason why as he has took a bung of Gaming to stopspeedway running at the Abbey .4 points

All very strange isnt it? The promoters no doubt wouldnt want to give up their promoting rights, but that is effectively what they have done by not continuing racing at the stadium... It was said that without the dogs it wasnt viable, yet the dogs are still there. (?).. Therefore, why not let someone else take the reigns and run on the track that is already in existence and throw up the large meccano set that is also there and build at least one stand...?2 points

It would make sense to move one other team to the Premiership. My vote is for Plymouth. Too far away and I don’t like the track.1 point

Acoustic fencing is nearly completed on the corners ...seems odd they've gone ahead with it if no noisy motorcycles are bombing around1 point
-
Correct and of course condition of said bung requires him to hang on to the reins for an indefinite time while gi decide on their next move. If the council insist on planning conditions being met ie acoustic screen and the rest then that will be the only way speedway would ever stand a chance.1 point

Hi Jaizer, As Monarchs 2468 has kindly pointed out, the monthly payment options are available and can be found by cycling through the Season Pass options on the ‘SIGN UP’ or ‘PASSES’ page. There are 3 monthly payment options available; for Premiership, Championship and Total Season Passes. Thanks.1 point
-
Keep clicking on the little white arrows and it'll cycle through the options of all the passes. Monthly was £39.99 for 6 months I think.1 point

I’m really looking forward to seeing how this team gets on. Bet365 have them favourites to come bottom but I can’t see it. A few question marks over how good KK will be and whether Klindt can continue his UK form on but I think there is huge potential with this side.1 point

Press day now postponed to 28th, (due to impending weather conditions) behind closed doors and earlier in the day as some riders have other commitments later. As per Kings Lynn Stars website.1 point

about what? Who gets the speedway car park money? As I understand it, the stadium take the cash on entry on speedway nights and either keep it or give some of it to the Council (as its still council-owned as is the stadium itself) and could be part of the GI lease conditions?! Thats been the case for many years. One thing is for sure its never gone to the speedway promotion!! In daytime the car park payment is done through an online parking app - again nothing to do with the Poole Promotion.1 point

The new shaped track used in the last few years Swindon speedway ran was a decent shape much better suited to good racing than the old bigger track ever did in my opinion. - I presume the shale track still exists at the Stadium cause if it does then it'd be ideal for a restart at the Abbey? Without a doubt the Abbey Stadium remains the best option for speedway to return to the Swindon area and if the planning conditions are followed this will be the case. I hope the MP or Councillor who shares these views carries on the fight cause it will be ethical justice. With the seemingly advent of quiet E speedway bikes in the future any concerns of local residents in the new houses around the stadium will be indeed quite literally silenced! The newly formed Company, partly by members of the last Swindon Robins promotion is I suspect just a lip service campaign that will probably wither away which is what they want. I don't blame the former promotion for wanting out cause I suspect running Swindon speedway cost them a hefty sum but wouldn't it of been better if they'd just come out and just say they don't want to do it anymore and give other potentially interested parties a chance of reopening Swindon speedway at the Abbey!1 point

I think our (Bears) issue is that no one dreads coming to STMP and will always give it a go1 point

If the team don't do well the gates will fall away especially at £21 admission now so not making changes might not be a sensible strategy. Let's hope the starting 1-7 do better than expected and none are needed1 point

Tell you what, no matter who you think is going to be top or well adrift at the bottom. I think this is going to be the best year in recent times. Good riders, good teams and Morris in charge. I actually have hope that speedway over here is going forward for once.1 point

Buxton still has practise sessions/ training schools and it was mentioned in the speedway start a few weeks back that Buxton could be a possibility for the Nora League in the future?1 point

Who are the 'usual knowalls' out of interest? The fact that most people think you'll finish bottom should be viewed as a positive, it takes all the pressure off and means there is only one way to go. People can only judge and speculate on what they see on paper, its what a forum is for. You shouldn't take it personally if folk think thete are eight better teams, they are only opinions after all.1 point

Hi Marky_Mark, This meeting is not a part of the Season Passes. We are streaming this on behalf on Belle Vue Speedway - this meeting was not part of our plans when we released Season Passes in December. BSN Season Passes cover the Premiership and Championship meetings that are agreed with the BSPL - essentially the official League, KO Cup, BSN Series and Major Events that are detailed when we release them. All of those meetings will be delivered to Season Pass holders over the season. When a club approaches us to stream a meeting that is not part of our packages, usually individual meetings from clubs that don’t have an in-house streaming service, we offer those as optional additional content. Thanks!1 point

Yes, but they may switch it around at Peterborough. Think they want Rew to get a look at a couple of races before his heat. So maybe Riss at 2 for that one.1 point

An interesting discussion. To me, it underlines what a shame it is that the splendid Buxton track no longer hosts speedway meetings. it is not a huge distance from Long Eaton.1 point

Bet365 Belle Vue 11/8 Ipswich 3/1 Sheffield 4/1 Peterborough 13/2 Leicester 12/1 Wolves 12/1 Kings Lynn 20/1 They’re way off with Lynn there IMO. absolute bankers for a play off spot and happy to be vaulted on that come the end of the season.1 point

No doubt about it, it is a very good lineup. For sure there are good riders not included, but who would need to drop out to facilitate them is the problem. Weather, it’s so changeable at the moment. It could be dry late afternoon/evening but what goes on during the day might be different. I’m subscribing, should be a great meeting, we all know how good the BV track can be for racers and racing. Anyone know what BSN are charging to stream individual premiership/championship meetings.?1 point

Was the busiest night at the NSS last season. I've got my ticket, can't wait it has been too long!1 point

I think for an early season individual that's a great line up. Having a track like that will certainly get good riders to come.1 point

That's what he says, but that is disputed by others who say they have the letters that show that to be false. In the thread I linked even Phillip Rising said he had seen the list and it was stretching it - and Phillip said he was a friend of Peter's and was carefully choosing his words. In the end we all have to choose which story, based on the info available, we believe is most credible In any event, isn't it the case now that the current owners do let ex riders in free with the only requirement that they contact Mark lemon in advance to say they are coming? Given that the seats are numbered that doesn't seem unreasonable1 point
-
Absolutely, the 1 minute is only for false starts. No excuses for any rider to miss those. Fallers, tape touching etc will be the usual 2mins. Don't see the issue at all.1 point

Well done to all the riders who took part in the 2022 British final, all were competitive and give their all in every race, also well done to the track staff who maintained the racing surface in warm afternoon conditions. Dan Bewley was superb all afternoon although he did have to fight his way from the back on a number of occasions. Tom Brennan a real star for the future who pulled off some great passes. Craig Cook came back from a few weeks out injured and showed he has lost none of his racing hunger with some daring passes on bens four. Danny King was good value for his fourth place but was just edged out . All in all a great afternoon of racing, I hope the Star Wars characters collected plenty of cash for the BEN fund. Well done NSS for putting on a great show. Maryport 1st Bowthorn 3rd.1 point
