Trackman Terry C who does Poole, Wolverhampton and Redcar? has had a minor stroke and it out of action for a while. I have been told he is now out of hospital and recovering. I am sure we on here would all like to wish Terry C all the best and a speedy recovery.10 points

I believe that after they demolished it, no one noticed for 3 years that it had happened.. Anyhow, 30 to 40 thousand max I would say if Wembley came back... Which will still be many more than attend UK Speedway each week.. Getting out of London on a Saturday evening to "anywhere" which is a decent distance outside it isn't fun though... A very risky, expensive pipe dream I would suggest...3 points

Why not just run the sport properly? A rider missing? Then (shock, horror), you sign someone else... Or run with (a fit for purpose), rider replacement facility, if you say "no one is available".. Speedway in the UK seems to like fo make up a myriad of supplementary nonsense rules and regs for every eventuality... And all needed because the initial rule or reg isnt crystal clear... Let's be honest, in this situation, they are hardly looking for a World Beater level rider are they? In fact, his level probably has the largest number of, (currently unattached in the UK), possible replacements globally... So bring one of them many possible replacements in... Or run with RR... So much self inflicted nonsense is allowed to go on, which has resulted in tens of thousands of fans, who still follow the sport, stop going... Maybe Phil Morris can help them to help themselves..3 points

Well done, but you didn't need to bring it up on this thread unless you wanted attention. I have done many things to help people, as have many other forum members, but haven't felt the need to mention it on a speedway forum.3 points

Bowtell bought fish and chips in Swindon once hence he gets to ride for them.3 points

Shame from a Poole perspective they couldn’t get Rew’s signature. Looks miles ahead of the Cook’s talent wise. A few meetings around here and he’d be scoring bucket loads in the championship.2 points

What was up with zach cook tonight even young Hagon beat him I’m not being critical I’m just asking a question.as for some people questioning Poole for putting this meeting on good on them I say I’d love to see a gp rider like Doyle in a meeting at my club good on you Poole for thinking of your fans.2 points

Speedway and Weather forecasts are hardly something to get excited about as you will seen from his posts he certainly had a” bee in his bonnet” about the fixture.2 points

Couldn't they brought in a 'guest' gate. I'm sure Chris Harris would have one laying around they could have used...2 points

Can you make sure they are not too long as the last ones sent were and stuck out the other side. They need to be no longer than 3” at the most. Most importantly the screws need to be a posidrive head to fit the Irish left handed screwdriver.2 points

There is way more important things in life than speedway. Let alone pboro speedway but……. This is a speedway forum and specifically a Peterborough panthers thread so surely we are all allowed to talk all things panthers. And with no communication from the club what do ever this is the next best thing for most people. There are people on here that have speedway news before clubs even release stuff. Fair play for what you and your wife do but let’s not get personal on here for people having an opinion or venting their frustration2 points

Interestingly the Poole team average tonight was just over 41 with Dougie's average and Swindon slightly over 43. And what was the score after H14, when everyone had 4 rides? 41-43!!1 point

He was sooooo good. He definitely has the Chris Harris style of racing in the dirt and never give up! Seriously if anyone needs a 2 pointer at Poole he's your guy! Yeah, he seemed to be enjoying himself..said the Poole track is the best it's been for a while (thanks to the rain I think!) Rew said he wanted to concentrate on Poland rather than ride Champ, which is fair enough. Me too! Was hoping he was going to make the gate and he did in second attempt as in the first attempt of the race he completely missed it. Half a lap away from a race win at Poole. That was probably the best challenge meeting I have seen in a long time! Scoreline back and forth, good racing (thanks to the rain - more grip than usual!) and riders completely going for it every race. Just watching the racing you would not have thought it was a challenge meeting!1 point

Well colour me surprised. I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. Birmingham must have a decent chance of a result at Poole...1 point

I believe he has already said that he was speaking with people in Scotland and using the weather forecasts that the club were apparently using so thats hardly an accurate comment - he wasnt doing any predicting himself. We all know speedway is in trouble. It needs the few customers it still has to speak up about things that irk them. Promotions may or may not be able to do anything about it but it could give them a reason to look at things differently. Not really sure attacking another supporter who is questioning a decision is really the way ahead - disagreeing is healthy tho1 point

Sam Hagon doing much better than expected. He’s doing well on a track he’s never ridden1 point

With all due respect Swindon team looks weaker than most champ teams. What are smith and hagon going to score...1 between them barring EFs/ exclusions. Filled a gap in calendar and got Doyle and rew to Poole but as a contest I'll be shocked if Poole don't get 551 point

Tbh, I've no major life issues (that i'm aware of) ..... but it does make me laugh looking in at a bunch of mature adults working themselves into a frenzy over issues that they have no control and in which they have no say. It was actually your earlier post that triggered my reaction and you pretty much make the same point above eg....... go away (polite version) happy clappers your opinion don't count as it doesn't concur with mine (bit odd from someone who also states people are entitled to an opinion??) Four or five of you can stamp your feet as much as you like .................. not getting you very far is it?? As for "rights" you should realise that your ONLY given right in this matter is:- pay your admission money watch speedway (in safety) and go home........ The End. (Of course you also have the right not pay and not attend?). If i'm honest, I suppose it's probably this "I've got rights" issue (not just speedway but across the board) that winds me up most (possibly a throwback from my career days when people threw that in my face on a regular basis...... only to be shown otherwise) ....... point being if you've got all these rights why not enforce them?? The bottom line is that "Premiership" (by name only) Speedway is finally done for in the UK (writing has beeen on the wall for a few years now) ........ Poland completely and utterly rule the speedway roost now and top riders will certainly want to look after the goose that lays the golden egg (who can blame them). If things go the way they appear to be going, 2024 will be one (not so big) championship level league for riders that are up and coming, those that will never make the big time and also those big names whose best years are long behind them! (apologies in advance for stating the obvious ....... I believe that most punters are already aware of this).1 point

It's a Richard Hollingsworth organised event he puts scunthorpe team together to run alongside other classes in amateur meetings. Think Lee and kean dicken organised the hull team the amsa team is done by their organisation and I think Sam woods does Boston. This event is open to anyone who wants to put a team together just contact Richard. The main difference here is all riders pay to enter and no payments are made to riders and fans don't pay to watch, so it's different from the IOW events and the Mdsl where fans pay and or riders are paid. If you would like to enter a team contact Richard I'm sure he would be happy to include more teams.1 point

I've run out of likes again! 100% agree and its the continued deliberate misleading reasoning that is most disappointing The trouble with lies , half truths and fairytales is that when the truth is provided it is difficult to accept it can be1 point

Fancy the Panthers to pull off a win. Cup competitions are unpredictable and league form goes out of the window.1 point

I notice that nobody is filling in gaps with the "James Wright / Tactical Guest" option. Judging by last year, for as long as the current team manager remains in place, so does the Tactical Guest. The BSPZzz allowed the Brummies to field guests all season long for Josh Auty, so by those standards, as long as James Wright keeps feeling less than 100% (or is persuaded to feel less than 100%) I suspect that the tactical guests will keep on getting booked. So, the big question will be, not whether or not there will be changes to the team, but with or without changes, whether there will ever be a 7-man team photo taken this year.1 point

Maybe when the meeting is rescheduled then both teams should field the same lineup as intended on the night. Because obviously that had nothing to do with the call off ??? im sure bluster is a honest chap. Just remind me though who faked a heart attack at Edinburgh because a kings lynn rider was caught in traffic and wasn’t going to make the start time ?1 point

Oh what a hero..and I applaud you for that (I honestly do)..but wtf has that got to do with Panthers demise!?...if you must know I went Carp fishing and then watched Monday night football...this is a speedway forum btw so people are allowed to have opinions on speedway things that are going on at their club and this includes concerning things such as the predicament we are in now..but hey at least Posh made the play offs so it's not all doom and gloom in Peterborough!1 point

It could be that the "happy clappers" are able to take a more balanced view of life in general rather than acting like petulant children !! My wife and myself are this afternoon again taking part in a screening programme for research in relation to early detection of various forms of cancer (in the sincere hope that this will benefit others in the long run) ................. what are you doing ?? (apart from stamping your feet demanding to know what's happening at Peterborough Speedway?) and NO, I'm NOT seeking praise but merely trying to put things into perspective..........1 point

I think Glasgow should be reinstated as there reason for pulling out was because they felt it was inappropriate for the final to take place due to the queen passing away, now after the coronation that is well in the past. Bring Glasgow back.1 point

I have been somewhat sceptical of the pre emptive call offs, however I think they have all turned out to be the correct call, and if it saved Peterborough having to pay rent for the EoES then I can clearly see why they took that decision. Weather forecasting despite the 'mick taking' does seem pretty accurate these days1 point

It riles me up on Facebook with all the happy clappers saying they are tired of all the moaning..I'm sick of the radio silence and to make it worse it's the same at Lynn...there's a common denominator here..1 point

Two things about this story... 1. Peter Oakes has a nose for a story and is still highly effective at shoe horning speedway into the tabloids. Top work 2. It's absolute balderdash. Speedway will not be returning to Wembley. We (speedway fans) are a dying breed. It would do well to get 40,000 into Wembley. The crowds are shrinking and the average age of the crowd is rising. The numbers don't add up. Wembley gets repurposed to put on days and days of Harry Styles/Ed Sheeran/Adele type gigs and gets 80k turning up night after night. It's low risk, high return. Does anyone seriously believe they would repurpose Wembley, including laying of a track for one night of speedway? There might have been a chance when the new Wembey opened around 2007 and they were desperate to recoup money. Not anymore. The Principality is as good as it will get for speedway in the UK.1 point
