  1. And eres me thinking that 'Ashton Gate' was a football ground !

  2. It does sound rather implausible. Think a bit of retrospective covering up may be going on to try and mitigate against the likelyhood of disciplinary action.

  5. I heard that his ankle actually "fell off" and that the Polish doctors (who seem much, much, much better than ours), were able to sew it on again for him... With no lasting issues.. "As goodski as newski Brady", was what he was told.. As Turkey seems to be the place to get your teeth "done" nowadays, Poland is obviously the place to get injuries fixed in record time which defy all previous medical history and knowledge..

  6. Let's hope Brady's ankle injury wasn't aggravated again whilst scoring a 15 point maximum yesterday.

  7. Never thought to get checked out by the doctors on site? Lets drive 7 hours home instead! Surely a 28 day ban is coming

  8. He basically confirmed what Leicester said on their website. His Dad was taken ill and they had to return home. He was meant to be riding at Iwade today but pulled out from that too. He apologised to Leicester as a whole and everyone at Iwade today.

  9. I don’t think Woffy is finished yet, but he has certainly gone backwards a little these last 2 years.Doyle looked done last year, but has fought back strong this year. No reasons Woffinden can’t do the same. As for Janowski, I have never rated him as a potential world champion. Too inconsistent, particularly in Gp’s away from Poland.

  10. That's next Sunday! This time last season Kent had ridden one home league match and two away, there were two home league matches in July, August and September. So far this season they've ridden one at home and three away. They have one home meeting next week, two in July, two in August and one in September. There are only 8 teams in the NDL so meeting are spread out throughout the season. There was an amateur meeting today, and last week would have been the second NORA meeting but that was cancelled.

  12. Don't be daft, clubs will vote on what suits them best, nothing else will matter! Look at how long the "rising star" system lasted in the Champ for example!

  15. Every team should be allowed one senior rider such as Lee to help pass on advice to the younger riders , but the league should be about development

  16. It's like a weird comedy show. It's a shame it wasn't the Panthers meeting on TV,,, and tonight Riss guest for the Panthers who normally races for Ipswich,,who are also racing tonight,,,any what's going on at Ipswich,, tonight Barker races his last meeting as injury cover for Riss,,, who is no longer injured and is guesting for the Panthers, hey??? Only in speedway

  17. Until we know (if we ever do) the actual circumstances, we can't really make assumptions. For a start, did his dad do the driving home. or was there someone else to drive? As far as "mitigating circumstances," I'm not so sure about that. Seek medical advice (plenty of that around) and seek another mechanic. If medical advice is "go home" then maybe, but the rider should still be disciplined for not riding in the meeting (I would expect a 28 day ban). But, as I say, let's hear the truth of what actually happened.

  19. We are very grateful to Nigel Tolley and before him the Masons for keeping Brummies alive against mounting odds and big losses. Your one man moaning vendetta though against Mark Phillips is OTT I've not seen Nigel driving a tractor or preparing the track. Nor Dave and Peter Mason Not seen them rebuilding completely new Stands, put in new lighting, drag a struggling NDL team up to the CL and recruit the likes of Crump, Anderson, Palm Toft and others to try to make it work Perry Barr is in the middle of everywhere, Plymouth is on a never ending road to almost no where. Mark Phillips deserves great credit, not your constant moaning.

  20. I take my hat off to mr Tolley at least he realises a shake up needs to be made not like my team birminghams results are no worse than ours but I bet they make more changes before we do, lack of riders is always the reason cited, other teams manage to put teams good teams together for me Kyle howarth got it spot on the fixture list is a joke not enough meetings between now and the middle of August my team Plymouth have 4 meetings at home left season over absolute joke.

  25. How about a scenario where a potential buyer for the club, and current owner couldn’t come to an agreement over the sale . The potential buyer had already got his team sorted, but when the deal fell through the current owner couldn’t or wouldn’t honour the contracts that had been agreed, and the sponsors didn’t get the team they thought were buying in to . Just a thought

  33. There was a very good reason the vast majority had Brum bottom of the league in the predictions... And it wasnt the manager . The only way tactically he could make a difference is if Brum were the only team allowed to ride for double points using a black and white helmet colour.. In every heat.... A classic example, like Newcastle and Eastbourne, of a club with an NDL crowd level masquerading as a CL team.. Is it promoter ego that does such things? You are where you are in the pecking order, because of what level you actually are at... Zero point in being something you are not..

  34. Completely agree re the fixture list, it's a farce. Simply not enough meetings, I don't see how any team can make any real money from such few home fixtures and they wonder why clubs are going to the wall.

  38. Maybe like Mark Phillips he should give Matt Ford a call to ask him to help with any of the riders on Poole's asset list??! or any of Matt's many other speedway contacts. They all need a little help from their friends - occasionally!

  40. Bellego dropping his average doesn't stop Sheffield strengthening up. Currently Bellego 5.80 & Sheffield 38.78 (0.22 available) so Sheffield can sign a 6.02 rider to replace him. If Bellego drops to 4.00, Sheffield's team total drops to 36.98 (2.02 available) so Sheffield can sign a 6.02 rider to replace him.

  41. I think because gate 3 is normally on the racing line and the riders entering the 1st bend every lap means the is no loose dirt up to the 1st corner therefore no real drive after the first 20-30 metres unless you can get across riders in gates 1-2 into the 1st bend.On saying that though you have 3.3/4laps to pass them.!!!

  46. Indeed, not riding for the Aces on Thursday night at King's Lynn, obviously did wonders!! Seems he's scored a 15 point maximum for Rybnik today. So was he injured, or did Rybnik use their 'Polish influence' and prevented him from riding at Saddlebow Road?? Certainly has a whiff of fish or a rat.

In a properly structured league those 0's & 1's in the CL would be 1's & 2's. I wonder if any analysis is carried out year on year to see if the strengths of the leagues are right to aid progression and development?

  48. I have to agree with all of that, as R/R for Kurtz only reaped 6-points. Toft certainly was competitive last night, and we need that to continue. Laguta is off this planet, and by far the best rider in the Premiership, what a joy to watch. It's time now that both him and Sayfutdinov were given wild cards in next season GP Series. I certainly wouldn't off load Edwards, as like Jenkins at Peterborough, he's showing so much promise. I like and feel sorry for Jorgensen, because he is a very good rider, but I think he's now found himself in the same position that Kerr and Riss were in, he needs a change of scenery to revitalise himself. Klindt is close to a carbon copy of Kasprazak, sometimes he will, sometimes he won't. Unlike most people, I've never been sure about Pickering. But as the saying goes these days, "It Is What It Is", and where really are the answers. Ipswich and Peterborough are both voicing complaints, and we can't all get the answers we want. I feel sorry for Alex, he's putting his heart, soul and money into this club, and deserves to succeed.

  49. PC had no involvement whatsoever with the development of promotion of the NSS. The 100+ names “demanded” were ex-riders, occasional sponsors (of him) and friends and acquaintances with no involvement with PC. There was never any suggestion of bringing along potential future sponsors. It was pointed out to him that any former Belle Vue rider would be welcomed - all they had to do was call in advance. As a former promoter, my stance would be the same. Any former rider of a team in which I was involved would welcome past riders wishing to attend. Sometimes, we’d ask that they agree to be interviewed or make themselves available to meet supporters. If any former rider wanted to attend every meeting, a financial arrangement would probably be reached, As a former promoter, I have had personal invitations to attend several tracks, (something I can rately take up) but I wouldn’t expect to attend free of charge every meeting at one track.
