They have both been around a long time experimenting should be done at a practice session.Your missing Douglas who was a real No1 and very reliable everywhere unlike his replacement.3 points

I'm sure Berwick fans will be pleased with the contributions of Schlein, Kemp, Hume & Borke, but they only scored 4 when replacing Etheridge. Now imagine the slating Jye would've gotten on here if he only scored 4!3 points

Woffinden done at this level think this is the last we will see of him the GP3 points

Based on the last two years.. A gradual decline sets in, eg Magic and Dudek. All very willing but turning around a downward trajectory is very, very difficult.. Especially with so many young bucks coming through.. Many of whom will take risks that the more established riders wont anymore.. Hope I am wrong, but whem you start relying on wild cards it usually only goes one way..3 points

Tate actually came off before the red lights were put on, so was not under power when the lights did come on, nothing dodgy about it, just unfortunate3 points

Your scepticism is justified. Josh misses the gate same as always and at Armadale that's a real issue, Lasse hits the fence a lot, Kye is inconsistent, Paco....is Paco, Justin is 'new', Connor can gate better than Bastian but is that enough.. and Max is great and I want to see his progression. In summary we aren't better than last season. But as long as there is good racing I don't mind at all.3 points

Woffinden is a very talented rider and can still turn it on at the top level and he can certainly talk the talk but for me his body language on the bike says he doesn’t really want it enough, his first ride he backed off going into first turn, did a cut back and then basically moved over to let lindgren through, that’s not the body language of a world champion2 points

So because it was still drizzle at 1815 that meant it was definitely going to continue long enough to take the track beyond the point of no return does it? The forecast and rainfall radar were indicating it was going to stop any minute and it’s didn’t. They waited until the track was passed the point of no return simples, questioning the professionalism of the Witches as a club within the British speedway ecosystem is comical, one of the best run most professional clubs going. Sometimes the weather goes against you early in the day, sometimes it’s right before the meeting it really is that simple - either way the club can’t control the weather at any point.2 points

Turned into a terrific meeting after a slow start . We were helped by Masters' engine failure in heat 11 as he had looked untouchable until that point . But a 12 point lead , which looked unlikely after 7 heats , is in the fun zone . A decent lead to defend , but not unassailable. What can you say about Jack Smith that hasn't already been said ? Best I've ever seen him ride , and boy did we need it . Wishing young Ace a speedy recovery and the second leg should be a cracker .2 points

Berwick take on an inform Scunthorpe side managed by former Bandit David Howe. hoping for a good lead to take down to Scunthorpe for the 2nd Leg. Berwick TM has again changed things around from last Friday with Danyon back at number 2 Drew 4 Rory 5 and Jye3. Richard Lawson once again guests for the sidelined Lewi Kerr. For Scunny Jack Smith guests for Nathan Ablitt. Scunthorpe have a number of riders who can ride Shielfield well but i think with Berwick a little bit stronger at reserve we wil get a result. 1989 was the last time we won the KO Cup so we are hopefully due a good cup run. Prediction 52-38.1 point

Personally I thought it was a pretty decent GP, above average in fact compared to recent years. It may not be racing for the purist, but the way the bikes and tracks are riders seem to have to be pretty extreme to make any moves and use the ruts, it certainly makes for entertainment and the FIM don't seem to be in any hurry to tone the bikes down. Heat 15 was purist stuff and a great race! None of the noobs disgraced themselves and probably did at least as good as some of the journeyman that have been cast aside this year with maybe Huckenbeck being the stand out. Maybe the reason a lot of the field don't resonate with some is because we just don't get to see most of them regularly in this country anymore? As for Woffy, for me he's at the stage of his career where he's quite comparable to Doyley and the contrast between the 2 is blindingly obvious to see, just the body language on the bike, Doyley looks as though he'd do almost anything to get back to the top, his semi final 2nd place was all you needed to see, brilliant stuff, Woffy... I can see him retiring from Speedway at the end of the year. Well done to Jack Holder, very impressive, I like his style, just the right amount of arrogance without going over the top with it and he's able to back it up unlike Woffy these days.1 point

He can blame his skipper for not taking the start marshalls orders1 point
-
For sure, no rider can complain about their gates, Jack Holder had 2 grid fours in the heats & top scored.1 point
-
Really can't understand the point of the scoring system, for example Woffinden 3 points = 1 GP point. If Woffy had fallen off instead of winning one race, he'd still score the same single point! Then you have Kvech, Wozniak & Vaculik all scoring 6 points, but Vaculik gets 2 more GP points than Kvech - is this really the best they can come up with?1 point

Reminds me somewhat of my home track Leicester. Move out and go backwards!1 point

Doesn't help when you get class riders off gate 4, and they move out to the dirt - and go backwards...1 point

Agreed, he’s our only chance of getting a different world champion this year not called Bartosz imo.1 point

I often think many GP riders over think the series, jack holder seems to just race the bike not the occasion and not the other riders and it’s pays results1 point

The problem is every meeting has a practise same day so thats equivalent of 8 meetings over 4 days which is a lot of wear on the track.1 point

Haha! Pretty sure they wouldn’t have lost any sleep over it. Meeting won, bonus point won, both top scored and outscored Schlein, got the 5-1 in heat 13 when it actually mattered etc. Exceptional ride from Schlein - wish he had come round to take the applause.1 point

Good to see some positivity after a 16 point win… I thought our 1-7 all rode well for their first home meeting of the season. We’ve also scored 40+ and Poole and Berwick whilst chucking some points away, think the boys deserve some credit. I do agree that it was brilliant to see some competitive racing again at the dale.1 point

What caught my eye about Leon was that he wasn't very smooth. I sit at the 3rd bend and he seemed to be making a helluva lot of effort, whilst others, such as Jimmy P, appeared to be nice and smooth. Obviously I wasn't taping everyone and analysing them in detail, but it caught my eye. As the 3rd bend is my usual perch I must compliment the track staff on whatever they've done to the 3rd bend. The racing tonight was just fantastic. I didn't think Ashfield could get any better. Jeezo, that Ashton Boughen looks a prospect. He's a bit "watch him through yer fingers" but boy has the lad got some speed.1 point
-
Leon scored paid 10 from 4 rides which for your 3rd heat leader is more than acceptable. I agree he is still lacking speed but with our injury/suspension issues he is the least of our worries.1 point
-
Leon looked better tonight but still lacking speed his track craft more than anything got him through. Think we would have took 12 points before it started and some great racing again. Sets things up nicely for Wednesday. And take a bow Jack Smith absolutely superb.1 point

The Mulford pass on Craig Cook was good and also Batch with Wright in 13 and 15, were great races. A shame that King and Tate picked up injuries. Hopefully they won't be out for too long.1 point

Unfortunately there is no normal life for Jason, he is a talent on two wheels, very funny and a likeable guy but the but goes a long way back. Jason was kept out of a secure place to stay because of his ability on a Speedway bike when Chris Morton and David Gordon agreed/were persuaded by the probation services to train him and give him an opportunity to change his life. Those commitments kept him out of custody but when it came to formally signing a contract other clubs stepped in so off he went and became effectively unsupervised. The rest is fairly well known the negative almost feral influences around him put him back to square one. Others from our sport were influenced by Jason and got into similar difficulties with the authorities, one I know is certainly not riding anymore. What you see is what you get with Jason it's the bags and baggage that will be the problem I'd put him in a team tomorrow but wouldn't allow his entourage anywhere near a Speedway track.1 point

£300 on Artem Laguta Oh wait... FIM have turned the GP series into a political woke contest.1 point
-
That list is still huge and amounts to around £60,000, it stretched back to the 90s, some of the non payers are no longer with us, some have just retired and gone off into the sunset but some are still riding and have no intention of paying, said this before that if any rider has a debt to a speedway van sales at the end of the season then next year they shouldn’t be granted a license till it’s paid, I know a few years ago this was the case with Aussies but not sure if that still the case1 point
-
Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway... It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away... As that has already been done by others down the years... And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted criminal be riding then let them.... Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence.... And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example... Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest? The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...1 point

As I have already said if you cared to read my posts, its horses for courses. A school teacher can be struck off if convicted for behaviour outwith his school, you would not put a paedophile in charge of a nursery, Raith fans will tell you what happened when they tried to sign rapist David Goodwillie. You commit a crime, you do the time. As I have said I have no problem with him being a plumber although I wouldnt want him to be going into the homes of elderly or vulnerable. He can be a labourer if he wants or any other number of jobs. He has though forfeited his right to a sports position where he would benefit from sponsorship and get publicity and could possibly be seen by young or vulnerable as a 'hero' because he can ride a bike well. He's not a hero, he is a violent thug who served time for what he did to an elderly disabled individual in their own home. Let him get on with his life away from speedway - the sport does enough to make it less appealing to possible new supporters without the ruling body being stupid enough to see that allowing him back as a rider will give every nimby in the land extra ammunition to object to speedway and speedway tracks.1 point
