The aerial shots of the NSS really do tell you what a great facility it is and oh to live in one of the houses close by. We should all be proud of this stadium and the vision of those who saw it through. We know the opening day was not good but they have created a legacy to be proud of. Well done to everyone behind the scenes this week who have given us a great week of speedway. A big thank you, you have done the UK proud.8 points

Re costing to hold such meetings…. If the FIM wants world championships in places other than mainland Europe they should have to cover costs….excess costs especially. Belle Vue is an exceptional race track…… IMO one of the top 3 in the world. It’s worthy of holding world class meetings. If because temp stands have to be erected then some governing body should be on the boil and cough up to cover at least losses. This week there were over 90 fast races on the BV track, poor weather conditions too, yet the track held up, no rutting at all, that is quiet an achievement….. well done to all the staff that prepped the track and kept in racing condition. Accolades must go to Chris Morton for all the years he (and others) stuck to the dream and battled their way through Manchester Council for them to fund the stadium. Such a shame that the very first meeting back in 2016, the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy, had to be cancelled because of errors caused by contractors, leading to a big financial loss to Mort that was going to be tough to sort. And just think, when you saw an aerial view of the new stadium and close surrounding area you could see the places that The Hyde Road track, in existence before the 2nd world war, the greyhound stadium track (never liked it) and the NSS occupied or did occupy, all within a few hundred metres. A lot of speedway history in Manchester indeed.5 points

Um, the same reason you change ends at half-time, or the reason you bowl one over from one end, and the next from the other. Simple for a non-loony to grasp...5 points

Ludicrous that we've now got to have a final. Australia are the top scorers and have won this. GB should be embarrassed if they win this5 points

Considering the weather for the first three meetings, big plaudits to the track staff for getting the meetings on and producing good racing in most difficult conditions. A massive congratulations to all of the riders for putting in some excellent efforts and hard aggressive riding. Hopefully weather will be kind for what should be a great final today. Finally putting on 28 races in 2 hours 15 mins was extraordinary.5 points

I do wonder reading your post's and your fascination with the Russian if you’re are a patient in a mental asylum. Did you see Zmarzliks crash in mid-week? A lot riders if they were leading the World Championship would have decided to stay at home and have a rest. If I remember righty Laguta Pulled out and missed meetings with sprained ankle !! Such a hard man!!4 points

I'm actually glad there was a poor crowd or at least loads of spaces available in the stands. Speedway fans have let the promoters know what they are prepared to pay, had the stadium been full, then it could have been made more expensive next time. If Belle Vue hold the SON, SWC or a GP in the future, they'll have to make tickets cheaper, find a sponsor, get discovery to ask for less money or let Poland host everything.4 points

Give it 10 mins once the euphoria of Britain winning has died down, and I'm sure this forum will revert to type and the moaning about the crowd size will take priority.4 points
-
No harm in trying, losing a 7-2 is no worse than losing a 6-3. Had to try something. It's pretty much the only times riders looked to slow the opposition, in the last 2 races.4 points

Last time GB top scored & Australia were Champions! Were Australia embarrassed with their win? When GB won they weren't top scorers. Before that GB top scored & Russia won. I'm sure Poland top scored when Russia won too!4 points

why match layout was set before a wheel was turned how often does top scorer in a gp not win the gp or even make the final3 points

Get In ! Now THAT'S Rock And Roll ! No one can say they didn't deserve it, no one stopped or fell in their races they had to really race hard & Aussies certainly don't ever just lie down, esp when it's v Us Pomms. When Woffy crashed in the GP I thought "Oh, no here we freakin' go again !", but Robert & Dan did it. Good on them. Believe me, people it means waay more when it's your team and / or your country. Loved it, I'm smiling (for once some might say !) ....3 points

Think GB are more or less out of it already. Give the youngster some experience. Not likely to trouble the scorers but neither is Bewley the way he is riding.3 points

Quite clear the moment it got announced... As was the plan to build a stand that wasn't going to be affordable to many... A truly baffling business decision.... But this is a UK Speedway promoter...3 points

Dick, are you seriously saying Discovery/WB aren't making a complete mint out of speedway? They are charging crazy amounts to clubs to stage these events. As for the streams, Russian streamers can beat anyone trying to block them.3 points

I am sure that the pricing structure was in part dictated by Discovery+ and the requirements of putting on the meeting for TV audience which in all fairness is limited because it is not on the main Eurosport channel but a subsidiary. If as reported it has cost the NSS circa £500k to put on these meetings the maths dictates what needs to be charged. A shame really but with no major sponsors underwriting the meeting it is what it is. U K speedway simply cannot afford this type of tournament.3 points

Lemon picking Kurtz over Fricke based off Wednesdays meeting in the wet, when the track tonight is the opposite. Lucky if he’s got half a brain cell.2 points

Get the pricing structure right and the place would be full imo.I know it was the WTC in 2016,but the NSS was rammed.Prices was much, much less than what it is today.2 points

With it being in TV and Manchester the wrong end of the country it didn’t enter my mind to travel all that way to watch Poland win again. And £50 for a ticket? Who the hell made that price up? £30 more realistic. I shall be cheering in GB from the comfort of my lounge, having spent the grand total of zero. A trip to this would be £100 fuel, £50 ticket, food plus car park, easily over £200. No wonder ticket sales are so poor.2 points

I understand Belle Vue's point that they have to charge a lot to pay for the event, but if they only get 4,000 when they would have got 7,000 if it was £10 cheaper a head, then it hasn't worked out. If they can guarantee a sell out, by all means make it expensive, but surely they considered the high ticket prices would put many people off? Ultimately we'll never know which is the best way to go, as every fan will have a different idea on what constitutes "value for money"2 points

Upgrade? I wont be swapping my back straight ticket to sit there, the South Stand is by far the best place to watch from at the NSS. I sat in that East Stand for the world cup and it's nowhere near as good as the South Stand .2 points

Not just the pricing structure. Imagine Fifa organising a World Cup without Mbappe and Messi. Imagine F1 organising a Championship without Max and Lewis. Imagine Wimbledon without Djokovic and Nadal. By excluding Artem & Emil from this event, the FIM have shot themselves in the foot.2 points
