Seems like the arrogance of J.Holder is rubbing off on their fans too.Win graciously that would be a better and bigger way.8 points

If Emil gets through Sunday, he will definitely be at Ipswich. Emil is a man of integrity and commitment. Him and Laguta are cut from the same cloth.4 points

why cant some people just get their head around that losing Doyle and Emil IS irreplaceable?....and as the late Sinead once said "nothing compares". Some(not all) Sheffield fans cannot even win with a slight bit of dignity and class, you got lucky with racing against a very unlucky opposing finalist, its sport it happens. The final could of been a cracker with both teams at full strength.4 points

I’m popping over to Foxhall with my screw driver set to tamper with the pit gate, they won’t get the spares unti the last week of October all ok 😂4 points

No chance. Every farmer in Devon and Cornwall is out all day Friday and Saturday in the Summer from dawn til dusk. Practising Team Riding in Tractors and Combines along every stretch of the A38 and A30 - rolling roadblock to annoy Tourists!4 points

Typical J.Holder, would you expect anything else from him.You lose graciously, but you should also win graciously.3 points

I don't think there is a single person that disputes the 2 riders in question are irreplaceable, but that is the chance your management took when building a team so reliant on those 2 riders. Sheffield took a gamble with a strong 1-5 meaning they have run all season with 2 rising stars at reserve so had we lost 2 of our heat leaders we would also have struggled. The last minute loss of Emil has ruined the end of the season, and we do sympathise, but it was always a risk to put all your eggs in 2 baskets. We are fully aware that you couldn't find a 'like for like' replacement for Doyle, but surely there are riders out there that could have come in and picked up 7-8 points a match, rather than expecting Ellis, King, and Thompson to cover week after week. They are 2nd string riders for a reason and can't do it week in week out for 4 months. Had someone come in back in June when Doyle announced his season was over they would have been fully integrated into the squad and dialled into the UK tracks now when it matters.3 points

And the biggest problem is that the BSPA/L and SCB have run away from developing any sensibly/clearly written Regs that would help teams affected at the business end of the season - precisely when there's the most chance of commercial interest.3 points

Not in the slightest Your 1-7 at the start of the season was Musielek Kerr Ellis Bellego Jack Holder Howarth and Gilkes In the play off final you had Lambert for Holder Chris Holder for Ellis Chris Harris for Musielek Pickering for Bellego Etheridge for Kerr Edwards for Gilkes The injuries you got last season plus sacking certain riders helped you become stronger for sure We couldn’t go out and sign a Lambert this season it wasn’t allowed and riders didn’t want to come …. So no what we have suffered this season does not compare to what you had3 points

Are the trophy presentations before or after heat 1 ? Asking for a friend3 points

Correct we could. I think in all honesty Ipswich were hoping that Lindgren would guest in place of Doyle for the play off & cup final. That was before Emil was injured, then I think everyone including the Emil hoped that he would be back in early September, he pulled out late last week of Torún’s meeting. I’ve been critical of Kings performances over the past few weeks but to be honest I can’t put too much blame on the management I’ve never know a season where you’re entire team gets injured & when 4 riders are out at the same time including your top 2. The last crisis we had like this was 1990 when Norris & Standing both got injured at Exeter. I do however think the management could have been more open about the reasons riders are unavailable.3 points

That's me probably done for the season, I'm sorry I just can't buy into the pay offs anymore, I'll maybe go to the finals if we reach them otherwise I'm done!2 points

I heard that Kvech wasn't convinced to come over at first. But is good friends with Topinka, as is Buster. I gather that Tomas helped things along a bit.2 points

Id put alot of money on him sadly not doing the play offs here2 points

When many of the so called 'top riders' do come they find out they're not so 'top' over here. Riding on billiard table wide open track is very different to what they have to master here.2 points

Amazingly, they just about managed without Doyle, and (as we now know) the Witches thought they'd have Lindgren for the big matches. However, it was the injury to Sayfutdinov which kiboshed the season, with any chance of finding any replacement scuppered by the transfer window - which takes no account of riders missing the remaining fixtures due to injury. That is thanks to BV's use of poorly written Regulations, and the BSPA/L's and SCB's knee-jerk reaction to prevent changes from happening - even though they know it has a serious impact on the play-offs, and makes a mockery of Phil Morris's more recent involvement and the need for "commercially based decisions". How can Ipswich advertise the Play-offs as a worthwhile event?2 points

The majority don't. British Speedway as a whole is down to about 20,000-25,000 a week watching trackside these days. It's not been serious for 20+yrs & not professional since Sky dropped it.2 points

I'm sorry but I just can't understand anybody that can take this competition seriously anymore.2 points

So Holder, Woffinden, Musielak, Vissing and Gilkes last season wasn't comparable then ? Not only missing the top 2, but also the injury replacement for one of the top 2 !!2 points

Can you voluntarily relinquish your place in the play-offs? If you can then Ippo should jump at the chance because it's beyond ridiculous now to a point where it holds no financial logic to run another meeting at Foxhall this season.2 points

Would that be fair? Ed the Monarch always has a minder with him. Right enough Roary could give him a Glasgow kiss and put the Ed on Monarch.2 points

If Ipswich can’t win it then I don’t mind who out of Belle Vue or Leicester do Sorry no time for Sheffield as the way some of their fans behave … they did it at the play off final second leg and again when they won at Foxhall last month … just not a nice fan base … plus they have Jack Holder lol2 points

6 man Teams (maximum CL Average Limit in place to stop those who are too good for NDL being declared in 1-6) 1&4 Heat Leaders 2&3 2nd Strings 5&6 Reserves 15 Heats - 5 Programmed Rides Each No R/R (when a lower average rider replaces missing rider the order gets adjusted accordingly) Unattached 3point Guests Only from Published Pool of Riders not in any 1-6 (1-6 to be adjusted so Guest goes in at number 5 or 6) Injuries during meeting to be covered alternatively ride by ride by reserves It's a DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE not WIN at all cost League!1 point

Noticed Cookie withdrew @ Leicester tonight, apparently with a shoulder injury. If unfit for Saturday, Comets could get Josh Pickering as his GSA of 9.07 would exactly match Craig's with the +5% home meeting enhancement. Would imagine JP would be sensational round there.1 point

Well you don’t really did you Riss was unfit & Thompson was out injured last year. This year with King out injured we won at your place & missing Doyle we lost by 2 in Yorkshire, beat you at home with Ellis & King missing. But hats off you have managed to beat us when it matters with half our side missing 😂1 point

As has been said before, injuries are part and parcel of this dangerous sport. Yes, Ipswich have been unlucky, but they chose to build their team top heavy (let’s face it there were a lot of smug Witches fans at the start of the season) and that’s a big risk when the best two riders in the league are missing. To be fair, the Ipswich management have handled this very well in the media, particularly when you consider the setbacks with other riders lower down the order.1 point

How about Poole running an NDL team in 2025? Or will they continue their policy of plucking young riders from the NDL whenever it suits them, despite making no contribution to the league themselves, effectively sponging off the efforts of others?1 point

Thanks for the love 😀. I tried to post twice yesterday but i was so pd off that my words were a little off for this forum so i deleted them. I started watching this sport in 1972 and have loved it .But how the sport has gone over the years has finally got to me. Three years ago i had a season ticket for both the Aces and the Colts .But this year i have been to watch 3 live meetings. I won't do a list of all the crap that has gone on over the last few years as you all will know. Its been building for a few years now and i have just realised that i cannot support a team in a sport that really is not a sport anymore its become a pile of contrived rubbish i have had enough. So unless feelings change i will be joining the many before me and walk away. I will still look in on this forum but not comment as i have retired and get a little bored and old habbits etc.1 point

I think the comparison isn't far off the mark. The very difference is rider's like Crump, Gollob, Rickardsson, Hamill, Sullivan etc would relish the challenge. Today, there's nobody out there up for the fight with Zmarzlik. Most just move out his way. Speedway is still dangerous of course but the SGP series has definitely gone soft vs 10+ years ago1 point
