They said at Oxford nobody wants to watch follow the leader speedway... and then proceed to show 15 heats of follow the leader speedway from Poole7 points

Interesting week for us. wroclaw looks like it will be a washout this weekend and they plan to run Thursday meaning no Dan Bewley for play offs. interestingly Emil should have been in next weeks semis and probably able to race. Dan should have been in this week semis and could have races. well done Phil Morris4 points

I think most if not all fans are not unhappy with the Emil situation. It’s more a reaction to the riders who were banned for said same situation previously.4 points

A day in the life of SCB/BSPL. Phil : Are we banning Emil like the others? Neil : No, ‘cause we like him. Phil : Yeh but you can’t put that in the press release. Neil : Why not? Phil : It wouldn’t look professional. Neil : ???? It's already done anyway and no I didn’t mention we like him, I’m not an idiot you know. Phil : What reason did you give. Neil : Tired. Phil : FFS! Why that, surely there’s something better, where is our rule book? Neil: It’s under the table leg to stop it wobbling. Phil: Go get it. Neil : Here you go. Phil : Why’s it covered in hot chocolate? Neil : I just spilt a full mug ‘cause the table wobbled, sorry. Phil : Why didn’t you put, suffering from severe laceration? Neil : Couldn’t spell laceration. Phil : Just put cut! Neil : Couldn’t spell severe, i before e and all that. I can’t spell a lot of rider names as you know. Phil : Yes, that’s why you make everyone use Chris Harris as a guest so it makes your paperwork easier. Neil : And he’s my friend. Phil : What’s all this mayo ffs? Neil : I spilt mayo on the wobbly table and used the rule book to clean it up. Ha! and some fans say the rule book is useless. Phil : It’s f%#}^ everywhere. Neil : I didn’t JUST put tired. Phil : Thank god, what else did you write? Who’s calling you. Neil : Matt Bates, he’s asking if we can move another piano for him? Phil : If it involves a massive flight of stairs again, it’s a no. Anyway what else did you say? Neil : I said he was thirsty. Phil : F*%% my life, you do know they’re calling for my head on social media. Who’s ringing you now? Neil : It’s Chris, he’s asked if he can guest for two teams in the same meeting. Phil : No! Neil : I asked how quick he can change kevlars. Phil : What did he say. Neil : If he goes too fast his inflatable vest goes off and he looks like a small Cornish hulk. Phil : Small Cornish hulk, I like that, we could use that. Where’s the ideas book. Neil : Under the table. Phil : Right, covered in mayo and hot chocolate. Neil : Yes. I didn’t think we’d need it, we haven’t before. Phil : Who’s ringing NOW? Neil : It’s the transponder rep. Phil : Tell him no, we’ve still got loads. Neil : He’s got more cheese & onion crisps. Phil : No, not falling for that again. Neil : He’s come back with popping candy. Phil : Hmmm, tell him Monday, early evening. I don’t think there’s anything happening. Where’s the diary? Neil : Errrrrr, don’t know - it’s definitely, absolutely not under the table.4 points

Think you said similar things in the BSN cup semi final, and you stayed away on the Saturday with many others, BUT it was one of the best meetings of the season, Saturday could be the same. All comets fans should make it down to northside to cheer on the comets, and show the promotion that the fans will support speedway going forward into 2025 UTC4 points

I’m not a big fan of Morris but he must at least be given a chance. However, I’m not convinced he has the power or ability to do the job and his tinkering about with stuff doesn’t really inspire me. There’s no quick fix silver bullet to reverse speedway demise that’s been going on for years. The damage done in recent times by the clowns Chapman and Godfrey has been disastrous and put the sport into terminal decline.3 points

The SCB site is the correct place for such announcements as they are the governing body of the sport in the UK & responsible for the implementation of associated rules & regulations.3 points

Great attitude to have is that. If people stay away because of that, then they’re not true fans. Support the team through the good and the bad, just be thankful we’ve got speedway back at Workington.3 points

Maybe try a different grapevine!2 points

Not negative but realistic , Poole have a power house of heat leaders and Workington did well to a draw on Pooles last visit to Workington. I have heard on the grapevine that the three guests for Workington are Bewley , Harris and Wright.2 points

They have every right to be happy with 14 considering the two clatterings they've already had at Poole this year!2 points

BSN. But they are doing one race from Poole and then one from Oxford etc. so it is £15 for both. Great value imo.2 points

Douglas isn't riding elsewhere to be fair. Clearly Emil has been told not to travel by his Polish team, I suspect having a meeting Sunday and Monday then Thursday and Friday would be difficult in his current position. Footballers do it all the time, When KDB came back from Injury for city last year Pep Initially said he wasn't fit to play two games in a week, so i guess its the same for Emil, he's just about fit enough to ride Sunday and Friday but his body wont take another two meetings in-between. Not everything in life is black and white.2 points

"As the club builds up the atmosphere on Thursday, there will be 120 whistles and 30 trumpets given away by Lenny The Lion at the main gate prior to the meeting. BBC East Midlands Today will also be in attendance and will be speaking to Stewart Dickson and one of the riders at around 6.45pm." That'll give anybody that happens to see it 45 minutes to get there, probably an hour as it's on Eurosport to claim their ear trumpet, the place will be heaving!2 points

Compared to the previous results there this season that would be a good result... but we shall see what happens. Not being negative, just being realistic2 points

Douglas hasn't ridden since his last Leicester match.2 points

Fricke Masters Lawson and Becker for r/r definitely not weaker2 points

Both teams will win their home legs just feel Oxford will win by more as I can't see a Scunthorpe rider getting anywhere near Masters, Nicholls and the form he's on Boughen round Cowley2 points

Surely If he qualifies, he has as much right as any other rider. There has been plenty of riders over the years who haven’t been good enough, but have qualified. Or should it be a closed shop? with the likes of Woffinden just keep getting wildcards?2 points
-
You can aim for a closer match, but still be satisfied with a 14 points deficit. Poole still favourites, but gives Workington a little more belief & could help the second leg crowd.1 point

Yeah, eventually. Was somewhat distracted by those who keep having a go at Danny & those who think Emil is shirking his duties. My apologies to all - I actually do have a sense of humour 🙄1 point

Are you coming up to worky to cheer your team on Saturday Lisa?😝1 point

Maybe because it rather suited them for the meeting to be postponed so they can have a full team next week?1 point

Get in 5-1 to comets ht 14 get a draw in ht 15 and squeaky bum time for Poole at worky 😜1 point

It would be outrageous if he did. He didn't do enough last season and never looked threatening and got lucky in getting a wild card for this season. His form in the GPs before injury was not good. He may be a former world champion, but he's looked anything but that for some time now.1 point

How many comments will be made IF we get to the final and Emil rides and wins the league for us haha imagine the outrage! I’d love it to happen more than ever now1 point

Being driven as a passenger to a stadium is somewhat less than drive to airport, sit around, sit on flight, drive to stadium, race & return. All this having raced (whilst not totally fit) the day previous. Bottom (scuzzy pun) line is, Emil returned to work earlier than expected or advised, following which he needed to carry on his recuperation from what was a bad crash and serious injury requiring surgery & convalescence.1 point
-
Douglas has a cut on his arm and Emil a hole in his arse from one of the worst British crashes this season, lives in another country but everyone chooses to moan about Emil missing the meetings. When it suits I guess!1 point

Thought Douglas will be back on Thursday. Now I see it's RR. Leicester in trouble.1 point

He needed an operation for a health and wellbeing. I don’t suspect he needs to come to ride a bike for people’s entertainment just because people get upset. If you want to get literal with every comment made on this forum good luck you know what I meant.1 point

For an event on the 15th of the month, you'd think they'd use the September averages?1 point

Can see Woffinden at Oxford next season, gives them an out and out number 1 and each time he’s been he’s mentioned liking the set up of the place and the track.1 point

If a rider qualifies then they deserve the SGP spot. If Brennan get a SGP place and qualifies, he has as much right as any other rider. Although I imagine there are plenty of riders with more Prague experience but if you can put 5 starts together on that track you have every chance.1 point

and pray tell which of Leicesters seven riders have been solely groomed by Leicester and not by other clubs at junior level or even ridden at other NDL teams ? Luke Crang ? Tom Spencer ? Arran Butcher ? Whilst they are to be applauded for running a team and have in recent times upped the practice sessions at the track they are not adverse to paying out a few bob to their riders and bringing in ‘experienced’ riders to strengthen their chances of success. Congratulations on the title , but don't get carried away with it.1 point

Not sure if it’s a rule or it’s at discretion of referee but how do you define dangerous? Intent or just out of control? I can think of a couple who fit in to the later category but I can’t think of any who fit the first, the whole sport is fairly dangerous by it’s nature but I believe is very safe now compared to how it was, I think every rider has respect in some way for every other rider and wouldn’t set out to hurt another rider despite harder riding by some than others1 point
