Or to paraphrase... It is all Mickey Mouse Bollox in the UK, but we still do our very best to pretend it means something... When are they going to at least try to make what they present have some credibility? Before it is too late ..7 points

Totally agree and I just wish that the wider public could see the sport is this light with split second decisions on powerful machines with no brakes. It takes skill and not many sports can match it. Today in Poland you have seen riders crash at high speed and get up and back on the bike in the rerun. Either they are mad or calculated risk takers, whichever, I appreciate the effort and you can ask for no more.3 points

Should be a real test against Kurtz and bewley at BV, nobody rides that place like they do3 points

Zmarzlik’s ability to read situations and react quickly is a cut above anybody else in world speedway3 points

I think you might have your work cut out there! If Becker isn’t fit to take his place tomorrow, it is possible that Danny King could guest for the Lions (think they might go with R/R though). If King did guest, you would have to tell your mates that King and Brennan actually ride for the same team (Ipswich) but neither of them are riding for their own team and will be riding against each other😂. If that doesn’t put them off and they want to attend further meetings, you should become a promoter!3 points

Meeting in Germany starts at 1pm GMT so should be done by 3pm. I'm sure arrangements could be made to get to Leicester by 7.30pm.3 points

Good entertaining meeting, Toruń deserved winners, it’s never a good look moaning about another rider when you have been owned numerous times on your own track2 points

Think Bartosz played it safe and got off, don’t think he would have complained if he had been excluded. There was some brilliant moves by class riders in that meeting.Bartosz is a class above though.2 points

Very different league that season though, several bigger names ride over here now.2 points

Don't think he would want to ride that rough Ipswich track anyway, he prefers the silky smooth Owlerton circuit.2 points

Don't say anything, if they are new to Speedway they'll just assume Brennan is a Sheffield rider.2 points

Nope. Straight back to the pits too. He didn’t even acknowledge the Poole fans standing beside the pit gate who, fair play to them, were passionate all night.2 points

Ridiculous that Riss and Mulford are missing this match,to ride in Germany on Monday!!I stopped going to speedway last year after 50 years, came back this year, tried to give it another shot, what’s the point? No meetings for 2/3 weeks, then when there is half the team missing. The sport is a joke.2 points

They need to fill him up with water during the afternoon then.... To be fair, comparing anything UK Speedway presents against what Poland delivers is not a fair comparison... I switched off last night, like I usually do most UK meetings, around heat five or six.. After watching weekends of Polish Speedway and the GP's, and the level of intensity these meetings are raced at, plus the crowd engagement in the events, it is difficult to summon up the same level of enthusiasm when watching on a Monday evening.. Even more so when you see opposition managers and riders stood alongside each other watching the generally poor racing, laughing and joking together in the pits...2 points

They are supposed to stop your head and helmet going back/forward too much, giving collarbone and neck injuries, I think.1 point

Its in his best interests to do as well as he can if he wants to get further guest bookings1 point

I think fhey will believe this.... Telll them that Tom has signed for Sheffield from Ipswich... And ishould they stay watching the sport, and notice that the very same Tom Brennan is riding for Ipswich regularly.... Tell them that Tom didn't like riding for Sheffield so went back!!!... Tell them that UK Speedway allows you to see if you like your new team mates before signing permanently.. A seven day change of mind policy...1 point

I wonder if the 2 week lay off will probe the club into a change or two? Doesnt seem to be many options out there unless a PL rider could be attracted down to race in our league. Jonas Jeppesen would be a good addition 👍1 point

They can’t perform the moves that Bartosz does though.1 point

Personally I think we need a few more honest interviews and a bit more needle between riders, makes it more entertaining. It can all be a bit nice in speedway nowadays, especially with BZ, riders seem to almost move over and let him past in the GP's.1 point

If you look at the various angles shown in the rerun clips it seems close but I do not believe they actually made contact. Professional foul maybe, still it adds to the drama and oh how you would like to see this calibre of league meeting in the UK. Great meeting.1 point

Thomsen and Vinnie did a lot of it at Oxford last year, just to wind them up I think!1 point

Statement from Poland: There, it turned out that the 25-year-old had suffered a serious injury, which practically meant the end of his season. "Luke suffered fractures of his thoracic vertebrae in the Th3, Th5 and Th7 sections. Fortunately, the player retains sensation and can move his legs, which means that the spinal cord was not severed," the Ostrów club said in an official statement.1 point

Their bikes tangled going into the bend, Kildemand couldn’t turn, Worrall was attached to him. Hope Steve’s alright, as it looked a nasty one.1 point

Well done to Poole for Friday night‘S result. That was a really professional performance. I thought Kerr and Thomsen were the match winners. Add Will Cairns to that - assuming he’s fit - and that would have been at least a 10 points victory for the Pirates. You were teased for your team building efforts, but some of you were correct: never write off the Pirates. One thing I would add - and I said this in the meeting topic - was that several of your riders were guilty of heading straight back to the pits after important wins. There were Pirates fans dotted all over the stadium, including a very visible bunch in the main stand with their flags; they’ve travelled a long way and deserve acknowledged by a lap of honour. Rowe passed Howarth in heat 5, then smoke Harris in his next, but both times, he went straight back to the pits. That’s so poor. You’ve just won two important heats and aren’t in the slightest bit arsed to even wave at the fans, never mind show a bit of passion. British speedway is on its backside, so the last thing it needs is big heat victories being treated like they’re nothing. I saw Tai Woffinden mention this on his social media, riders going straight back to the pits. Poor and disappointing.1 point

A non-result related complaints I think it’s worth mentioning too. Is there a limit on track grading? Those tractors did more laps than Flint. That’s probably the biggest thing I’ve noticed since returning to the sport; the excessive volume of delays to accommodate track grading, but last night was brutal. Really poor to see so many Poole riders turn and go back into the pits without doing a lap of honour. There were Poole fans in the main stand and you couldn’t miss them with their flags. They’ve travelled a long way to see you secure an important win; acknowledge them. I’m not even a Poole fan and I thought that was poor. Anders Rowe passed Howarth in heat 4 then smoked Harris in his next one; straight back to the pits. Where’s the passion? It’s painful to see. Tai Woffinden was spot on; riders need to interact with fans, whether it’s on the track or after meetings. Last one: the person controlling the music at Ashfield needs replaced. I refuse to call him or her a DJ. A clash of the titans fixture in the Championship, first versus second, the 2023 champions against the 2024 champions and Rick Astley is playing over the tannoy. I felt like I was at 18th birthday party in 1985.1 point

I don’t think anyone was suckered in. Starting is an essential part of Speedway as we know and so much concentration goes in to watching that little release trigger to get away the quickest. Any slight movement anywhere would cause a rider to drop the clutch. I don’t believe anyone deliberately moves to get another rider excluded either. As I said, so much concentration goes in to watching the tapes that you’re bound to get the jitters from time to time and drop the clutch too early.1 point
