Well I get annoyed when my choice isn't even in the the list of choices. Why can't we vote for any of the 14 riders?3 points

Ht 7, wow, what a great piece of team riding by Tate and Jacob, superb effort from the Scunny pair too. What a fantastic track Northside is, here's hoping they can pull in crowds big enough to sustain it.3 points

A young dane, a young swede, Adam Bubba Bednar, Pollestad, Grmek, a pole not getting a ride for his team, Kyle Newman, Claus Vissing, Adam Ellis, Jonas Jeppesen, Nick Morris, David Bellego, Keynan Rew, Norick Blodorn, Dan Gilkes, Aaron Summers, Dany Gappmaier I’m going to stop now, but don’t say who, as if there’s no riders that would ride. The majority of them probably wouldn’t, but some would, and that’s the point. We’re stuck with Mr Unreliable at 1 when we’re already down to 6 riders, with plenty points in hand, it’s not good enough. This club is making money.3 points

I don't think anybody is happy about it, but if you only have 5 teams that are willing to pay out for the privilege what is the answer? Run a 5 team league? Surely you can see that's not credible.3 points
-
Yes is the simple answer. Dan left enough room for a double decker bus and Kerr went through it. There were several people up in the box and every single one of us knew that it was over as soon as Dan hit the deck and that he was getting excluded. There really is no argument to be had here. The only slight doubt was that the referee might be a “Homer” and wrongfully exclude Kerr.3 points

It is time for one league. One of the reasons why I've only been to my club Leicester once this season is down to the lack of variety, it's the same riders every other week. There is zero incentive for me to watch Ipswich one week when I know in a few weeks time we could be facing them in the KO cup or the play offs. People will say there isn't enough riders and that's it, but is that my problem to fix? No it isn't. I don't go to watch speedway for GP stars, I go for the speedway. I love watching Fricke every week at Leicester, but I also loved watched the Thompson twins come through the ranks taking on the senior pros. That was just as exciting for me as watching a GP star. Let's be honest we only have a few GP stars anyways? Were missing Lambert, Bartosz, Laguta, Lingren etc. We only have the riders that are allowed here by there polish clubs lets be honest. They just come here for fun some would say. Let's not forget how expensive they are as well. Costing thousands every week! We can manage one big league, how? Maybe look at what some of championship clubs have done this season, some brand new riders to the league and promoting the youth from the NDL. It would lower the standard but I don't care, let's back the kids and give them plenty of riders and pay them a reasonable wage so riders like Sonny Springer can get back into speedway.3 points

How did Worrall end up with BSN viewers rider of the night. Batch or Bowes for me.2 points

When you see what Bowtell was excluded for last night at Armadale ,it looks like Worrell would have to fall . interpreting the rules seem different too each Ref2 points

The Golden egg was laid in the early days of Sky TV. It’s a real shame that the promoters & everyone involved didn’t embrace it & use it as a relaunch pad. That money spent correctly to improve the product with the viewing figures at the time could have been transformative. Also don’t forget at the time the sport had Column inches in the national tabloids & featured on the back page several times. In terms of race day if the product was want people wanted & was desirable it wouldn’t matter what day the racing was on.2 points

Shocking referee. How is bowes not excluded for that.2 points

Yep it was quite clearly a fair move, but in the context of the meeting situation and Thompson going down you can understand why some Ippo fans didn't like it seeing it in real time, would have been exactly the same at Lynn in reverse.2 points

Don't think you can argue against ss point that the public want to see the best riders in ht15,irrespective of score, its what the fans want so give it to them2 points

The time for any club to race a home race meeting must be when it suits them most in the current climate , irrespective of league . i feel pooles main reasoning for dropping down was 2 fold, one of those would have certainly been race night , the other was monetary i would think as they are business people and try to run at a profit, which they do well. To my eyes oxford spires are wasting their time in the top league, ransacked the team midway thru last season and miles understrength this. Yet the cheetahs get fair crowds and the junior side seem to do reasonably well . Take a real act of faith for someone to move up.2 points
-
I agree Bowtell did not do much wrong and he was in front, Loftus just rode in to him. Awful decision.2 points
-
And yet the biggest cheer of the season apparently was when your GP star Fricke came from 15 metres to win on the line in spectacular fashion. I’m sorry but you ain’t getting that kind of star quality from the Thompson’s or even Ryan Douglas. How people are happy to see these riders depart is beyond me.2 points

Maybe it's about time we considered moving into the Monday and Thursday league to enable us to track a full side . Once again we are a rider short because of some team GB meeting god knows where . And apparently next weekend is even worse. There are far too many of these weekend meetings abroad now and it is impacting us every week now . Anyway tonight was a decent meeting, well done both sides2 points

So Birmingham end there time at Perry Barr with a league match against Leicester in august, no farewell nothing, just like wolves did, no sentiment and it’s piss poor but do we expect anything else these days2 points

To be fair they did commission a report from some marketing consultants about 20 years ago. Although the only recommendation on which I can see any progress is: 'improving the quality of the coffee served to spectators'1 point

announced at track the ref had not been informed about both changes there for them riders were not in the race and should have not gone ahead who was team manager tonight for scunny you would think he would know the rules but yet again how many times does his team follow different rules to others1 point

It's always going to go the way of the away team really as they are the ones sat at home watching it able to vote. Many home fans can't vote as they're there1 point

I don't know why they're not appealing that as they don't seem to have breached any regulation1 point

Don't think Workington will lose at home, provided they all stay injury free, and they may pick up a lot of bonus points. Good to see them back, I am definitely concerned about when my team visit1 point

Enjoyed that, despite the scoreline the racing was decent.1 point

If everybody had the sponsors the model works, unfortunately not every club does, all PL clubs do have the TV money though (at the moment) but not all of them have the crowds, so some of that money would have to offset the lack of crowd numbers. If we say Sheffield, Ippo, BV & Leicester (I think) have decent sponsors, Lynn & Oxford also have sponsors but they're not synonymous with the club and Brum are sponsored by their owner! Brum are gone, we know that and we expect Spires to end... which other clubs in the UK have a sponsorship deal that allows them to fund these "best people"... there will always be "best people" at clubs even if they're NDL level. The only way to keep the "stars" and entice more, would be for Mr Morris & Co to approach one of the TV broadcasters with a proposal that blows the Poles out of the water, a £10m-£15m per season deal, you'd hope that with the end of the current deal fast approaching that this has already been done and the league structure for the span of the next deal, if there is one, is already being planned... now stop laughing! Taken from Google: Gathering precise and regularly updated viewing figures for sports like speedway in the UK can be challenging, as broadcasters and governing bodies don't always release granular data, especially for niche sports. However, we can glean some insights from historical data and current commentary: General Trends & Historical Context: * Modest but Passionate Audience: Speedway has a dedicated and passionate fanbase in the UK, but its overall viewership is significantly smaller than mainstream sports like football or rugby. * Decline from Peak: Historical BARB (Broadcasters' Audience Research Board) figures, particularly from the 2000s and early 2010s, indicate a decline in average live British speedway viewing figures from a peak around 2007-2009. For instance, the average audience on Sky Sports for Elite League speedway in 2011 was around 80,611, which was down significantly from 145,550 in 2008. By 2013, it had fallen to an all-time low of 62,615. * Lowest Figures: Before BT Sport (now TNT Sports) took over, the least popular live British speedway meetings on Sky Sports would sometimes hover around 40,000 viewers. Current Situation with TNT Sports / Discovery+ / DMAX: * Shift to Pay-TV/Streaming: The move of British Premiership Speedway and the FIM Speedway Grand Prix to TNT Sports (formerly Eurosport/BT Sport) and its streaming counterpart Discovery+ means that viewing figures are primarily within a subscription model. These platforms do not typically release specific per-event viewership numbers for individual sports in the same way free-to-air channels might. * "Millions of Viewers" (Platform Reach): When Discovery+ and Eurosport promote their speedway coverage, they often talk about making the action available to "millions of viewers" through their platforms. This refers to the potential reach of their subscriber base, not necessarily the number of people actively watching speedway. For example, TNT Sports 1 had monthly viewing figures of 5,864,000 in December, while Eurosport 1 had 2,035,000. Speedway is just one of many sports on these channels. * Free-to-Air Highlights: The inclusion of highlights on DMAX is crucial for broader exposure. While these figures are also not often broken down by sport, free-to-air channels generally have a much wider reach than subscription services. * Focus on Fan Engagement: The broadcasters emphasize attracting new viewers and delivering an engaging experience for passionate fans, using features like live data (rider heartbeat, reaction time) and additional editorial content. International Comparison (Poland): It's worth noting that speedway has a much larger following in some other countries, particularly Poland. For example, in May 2022, the Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland in Warsaw reached 6.6 million viewers over the weekend across TVN Group's channels and platforms in Poland, with an average live audience of 442,000 on the free-to-air channel TTV. This highlights the significant difference in popularity and viewing habits for speedway across different territories. In summary, while precise, recent UK viewing figures for speedway are hard to come by, it's understood to be a niche sport with a dedicated, but relatively small, linear TV audience on pay-TV channels. The focus for broadcasters like TNT Sports and Discovery+ is on serving that passionate fanbase within their subscription offerings, while using free-to-air highlights (DMAX) to attract a wider audience.1 point

Poole get better attendances than when last in the Prem and no GP stars. They are not the be all and end all imo. They are great to have but you cannot hold other clubs to ransom for sake for 4-6 riders.1 point

I am half a mile from the track and we have had no rain so far. Dull and overcast but dry. A LITTLE rain is forecast up to 4pm and after that its dry and sunny. I hope that the weather men have got it wrong as usual and the meeting should go ahead as planned.1 point

Just watched the meeting back on YouTube. and there was even a bigger gap than I thought on the video. Correct decision by the ref1 point

Totally agree, and it was an error on Dan’s part. Such a shame because after a poor night, you could see the determination to do it for his team in that heat and he done fantastically well to overtake Kerr in the first instance.1 point

Well I guess you envisage deja vu of the worky result, well for me that ain't going to happen. But the Scuny team GSA profile is unusual all being between the 4s and 7s, so Poole really need a strong showing from 6 and 7.1 point
