Nice of Gusts to actually be making an appearance for Oxford. BSPA need to start taking a bit of control when approving signings imo, Oxford this season have taken the utter P. Knudsen and Gusts have missed more meetings than they’ve ridden. Need to start blocking signings when you can clearly see they’re going to miss so many fixtures it’s taking the mick out of the paying public.5 points

Great performance from Redcar tonight as expected it wasn’t to be easy especially with the guests in place so well done to them. Big thanks to Redcar Bears supporters for the great away support always good to see. There was some superb racing today not all in our favour but still good Speedway on show which is obviously the main ingredient to a good meeting! Onto next weekend away at Scunny and Plymouth3 points

Most comets fans support the team win lose or draw, if you see some good close racing and your team gets beat, you've enjoyed the speedway, then hope you win the next meeting. Roll on supporting the comets at Plymouth next Saturday, thankfully got family just outside Bristol, so a visit to family and speedway at Plymouth3 points

It’s maybe a strange shape with the unorthodox finish line but it produces some great entertaining racing3 points

Any one seen @neila on here tonight, that's what happens when you get cocky3 points

Excellent showing last night considering we were 14 points down at one point JJ and Kemp especially we brilliant. As for tonight I think it’ll be another close run things with two weakened teams, for Berwick it’ll come down to whether JJ takes to the track the same way he took to Ashfield last night as Glasgow could potentially be using Bomber and Howarth for 6 rides each which will prove difficult to overcome unless Drew Kemp has some able back up.3 points

Thing is... Yes, they're all good lads... yes, they all do their best..... but as a team, the quality just ain't there, we should at least be competitive at home. I didn't go tonight.. despondent... I ain't paying £25 to watch 15 heats expecting us to lose ...add to that, waiting 30-45 mins for the next meeting (which I'd probs only endure about 5 heats).. It's hard work being a Scorpions fan at the minute.3 points

No need to be nasty about Craig who despite his problems has given a lot to British speedway over the years3 points

Well worth the trip up... The racing wasn't "great" throughout but that was due to the Bears consistently getting out of the starts regardless of grid number... And the track being too dusty and slick for the first half of the meeting at least . Never seen a watering done after just heat two before, but it definitely needed it... It looks like a track that needs a good soaking given the camber is big...... The 2nd half of the meeting was much better and heat 13 was a cracker... But why no lap of honour? Where I was stood, on the home straight with the Redcar fans, (a good number there too), it literally killed the atmosphere generated by the great race.. Atmosphere, driven by tribal opposition, is what they sport desperately needs... Paco (one of the guests), wheeled around after his win in heat 14 so I presume some riders know what is needed... The food van ran out of chips, (a disaster it appeared for some), and I must admit, trying to protect my burger from dust was a challenge... The place itself is fantastically well laid out, with the viewing platforms all round the track providing a great view.... And there must be god knows how many artics worth of aggregate used to make the pathways!! The track is great, with my only slight criticism being the wide outside runs on bend two and four seem to make riders lock up a tad rather than letting the bike run like the NSS does. Are the exits narrower than the very wide entrances to the turns? Or was it just a lack of grip meant the outside line wasnt working as much as would be liked? The kids race attracted plenty, are kids in for free? There were plenty there... The centre green announcer is definitely one of the better ones I have seen... You can also hear what is being said around the stadium as the tannoy seems to work...!! And the signs from the town outskirts telling you that Speedway exists and, even more importantly, where it actually is, and when it runs, look professional... £20 a ticket? Value for money for me, I hope the crowd levels meet what is needed, it looked like around 700 to 800 tonight which I presume is better than break even? If you haven't been, definitely give it a go, great set up, and very good track..2 points

Never been to a meeting before where a heat got delayed due to one of its riders being locked in the toilet and unable to get out....... I won't embarrass him by naming him... (His initials are VF)...2 points

I forgot to give special mention to Hodder and Perry too. Hodder; not only for his win, but for pushing Kemp all the way in heat 7. Perry was so unlucky in heat 2, but that’s speedway. Those two young boys, as a result of our team building strategy, have found themselves with a little bit more expectation on their shoulders, but have handled it face on and given it their all.2 points

Didn't even know YouTube shorts is a concept. Why don't they allow landscape - they could call them YouTube trousers.2 points

You’ve just proved my point with Gusts the authorities know this yet still sign off the signing. It’s taking the fans for a ride which is another of the problems in this country.2 points

Just looked at the forecast and it looks decent for today... Going to risk it even with Cumbria s "changeable" weather... Still might be tempted to stay over given I had a great night there a good many years ago after going to watch the Comets v The IOW, with Danny Bird riding superbly all evening... When I asked the landlord of the pub we were in what time he closed, his answer was "when everyone has finished drinking"... Which was around 4am if memory serves.... Taking my lad today though so maybe just coming back might be safer!.... With some the riders on view it should hopefully be a cracker on that track...2 points

Slick and the material produced powdery. Some decent racing but below par for Ashfield IMHO.2 points

He rode well tonight IMO.Kildemand was the let down for me.Couldn’t gate too save himself after his 1st race win.Berwick win might have been on the cards if he had. track looked slicker than normal for Ashfield, some decent racing as usual.2 points

Just a general thought. The racing at Ashfield has went downhill since Meredith has been involved. As the saying goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. No need for him to be here. Racing has been great for years without him.1 point

Well if you understood the whole concept of YouTube shorts then you would understand you have to shoot in portrait 🤦🏼 I was only interested in Ellis to see what he could do from 15m back 😆 but, next time if you like I’ll take the drone ???😂😂😂1 point

I've never understood why people insist on filming with their phone in portrait - a landscape view will capture this sort of action.1 point

Agreed! I like to see GB win but even if they don't even get close its still experience for the younger guys AND an International always brings in the fans. Me? I have been suffering from International withdrawal for years!!!!1 point

Yes,,,cash only. Three different car parks around the stadium so no worries there. Weather is dull and overcast at the moment, with no rain forecast.1 point

Very tough meeting for the mighty Comets, Danny King especially has shown a real liking for the GT Tyres Arena. Jonatan Grahn is probably an upgrade on the current form of Jake Mulford having already had two excellent meetings at Northside. Paco is not Eric Riss who also loves Northside but has shown in the past that he is capable of double figures. Jason Edwards another rider who has had plenty of laps around Northside and achieved double figures. Jason has shown good form following his recent return from injury. Both Ace Pijper and Jody Scott go well at Northside. Comets will need a real solid team performance with another scrap for every point attitude and good starts. Should be a cracker ! UTC 👊1 point

I thought it was the best meeting that BSN have shown so far this year. Great racing. Thoroughly enjoyed it.1 point

Instead of speculation perhaps the authorities should canvas those riders who are prepared to commit to riding in the UK first and foremost and calculate how many riders are available to ride every week on a race night that suits a UK club, not Poland or any other European league fixture list. Reward those riders who are willing to make a go of it in the UK by guaranteeing x number of meetings based on the commitment to ride. On the basis of the foregoing, determine the make up of teams, be it five, six or seven riders per team. Then look at whether it works on one home and away or two home and away or a mix with 4TT plus league racing. Also have a Season long individual UK championship with rounds held at every track and a grand finale at say Bellevue one year then Glasgow the Poole etc, share it around. The idea is build for the future on what you know you have not the uncertainty that prevails today where it is a case of finger in the air and hope. True speedway followers will be happy with competitive racing week in week out, others who crave the worlds top riders will follow them through the many individual tournaments be it a GP or Euro championship or Poland where in the case of the latter money seems no object when it comes to enticing the top riders. Speedway UK cannot compete with any European racing partly because of Brexit but also it races on a night when riders can earn some pocket money here because no other league is daft enough to pick Monday as a race night and I suspect that most who ride in Poland etc do not keep the best equipment in the UK so you are probably not seeing the riders at their most competitive. Unfortunately all those on here who could make up a committee that could give some direction and work with the promoters to get the sport back to where it should be would be largely ignored yet they are the same people who week in week out put money into the clubs by crossing the threshold of the turnstiles and helping keep the sport going. A message to those in charge, engage with your punters.1 point

Do you seriously think he would have turned up if these meetings had went ahead. Think we all know the answer to that one. He also let Oxford down without rain offs.1 point

Table with phone on it by starting gate to encourage angry riders to shout at ref. 30 yard marker to keep riders in lane. Fans up to track fences. Reserves race after 13 heats of match -followed by 'rider of the night'. Guys scraping shale off fences. People on ladders outside stadium having free view (at Workington). Programme 6d. Challenge matches. Foreign touring teams e.g. Sweden, Poland, Checks (can't spell). Inter league challenges. 4000 crowds not 400..etc, etc, so what went wrong?1 point
