  1. Plymouth are dammed If they do and dammed if they dont. There are not enough number one riders out there so they get one who was not riding in the league and originally was free and able to ride all of the meetings. Poland come in and chuck a load of money at someone of course they will take it as a rider but why is that Plymouth cheating? If Plymouth were really wanting to gain an advantage surely they would say he is withholding his services and they get to use a rider up to his points as apposed to a reduced points. Oh and it’s seems Plymouth fans are really enjoying it this year as an FYI crowds seem to be doing really well, the team is full of real triers, the meeting is an event as apposed to just racing, the announcers do a good job of entertaining, kids get involved with races. Theres a lot of good going on at Plymouth and to be honest if they win home meetings I don’t think many really care if it’s with or without klindt (in a nice way to klindt). I am looking forward to facing Poole this week. Obviously poole have a great team but the way Plymouth have been riding lately with the new team I think it could prove to be some really good meetings. instead of constantly preaching negativity on this forum why don’t you actually try and big up the sport ? sooner rather later the sport will be gone and the amount of negativity and constant swipes at teams on social media and internet will have an effect and it does effect people. for what it’s worth plymouths been great this year and the paying public will tell you that (a lot who are not on here) as there seems to be a new wave of crowds coming to Plymouth.

  2. It's not something I can get too excited about either way tbh... on the one hand I do enjoy an extra heat with pretty high stakes, a whole league point... but on the other hand it seems a pretty easy way to get a league point with the one race that normally would take 15 to achieve and is obviously stacked in favour of the team that has 2 big guns. On balance, it's probably not something the sport "needed"

  3. An honourable principle to provide an exciting crescendo to a meeting and give fans an extra race in order to decide a winner However..... It is flawed by the fact that it means teams score what could be valuable match points that are not available to all competitors It cannot be right that teams drawing meetings can ultimately earn more points In a league scenario much tighter than this seasons cut and dried top 4 it could easily decide who qualifies for the play offs Example Team A has finished on 40 points and sit in 3rd place with a healthy race points advantage over those below Teams B and C are on 39 and 36 points respectively with a home and away double between them remaining So Team A are safely in the play offs right? Whatever combination of win lose draw between B and C it would be impossible to split the 5 points and see both overhaul Team A Hold my beer - here comes the super heat!! 2 draws later and 5 match points becomes 7 seeing Team A dumped from the play off positions

  4. Don`t care about play offs, don`t care about Championships, or winning, trophies, don`t care about how crap the track was and is, don`t care about how many times we have to watch the tractor going round and round and around doing absolutely nothing. Its about one thing for me and one thing only. Free car parking.🤣 Nothing else matters.

  5. I don't see the need for it. If a meeting ends in a draw then it's already been an exciting end to the meeting with a lady heat decider. While some say it's extra value for money for fans & an extra heat to watch. That's not something fans can plan for, a fan on the fence about whether they go to watch a match, isn't going to day "you know what, let's go incase we get an extra race for our money". I just don't see what's wrong with a drawn meeting!

  6. So whoever does the Proboards updates blamed the lack of grip on the start line for Lynn's woes, as it played into the Lions hands (or should that be paws). Obviously this person has never been to Leicester in the last 5 seasons as they rip the start line before the meeting to produce what I feel is the grippiest start in British Speedway. This was the last meeting that I will attend at Kings Lynn this season as the last three times been there has been a delayed start for whatever reason which causes me to miss the end of the meeting as I need to be on the last train back to London at 21:42. I cannot think of another sport that is so amateurish as to have delayed starts. At times the sport does not help itself. Last week delayed for a big crowd, this week for additional track prep.

  7. It’s a silly concept … Ipswich deserved a draw last night and so did Belle Vue for battling back

  8. what a load of tripe, i was there, the aces fans were very vocal and loud, programme boards were waved and flasks of tea were spilled on the terraces

  9. It has been proposed before, by myself and others, that the riders in Heat 15 would not be eligible for a Super Heat. That would negate a 2 x Big Guns team's advantage.

  10. Please can it be arranged that heavy winds are blowing at every future TV meeting. Then we don't have to have that drone thing.

  11. All Lynn meetings take an age to finish, sun, refreshments and tractor racing all come into play

  12. Barring injuries, Glasgow, with the addition of Nagel & their reserves no longer points fodder for their opponents, should win all three competitions by the end of the Season.

  13. The same big changes as last year?? The year before that one?? Oh, & the year before that, & before that etc etc. In the time King's Lynn returned to the top league in 2011 we've made the Play-Offs 3 times (I think)?? With 6-7-8 teams in it, 3 times in the Play-Offs. Joke club. Really don't know what King's Lynn fans actually expect. The management needs to understand & get it drilled in to their skull, YOU CANNOT WIN ANYTHING WITHOUT A PROPER NO1. It is that simple. The nonsense fed from management that 'strength in depth' can work is absolute kak. Obviously, 6 pointers can have anomalies, i.e. Ipswich away, but there's a reason rider's are 6 pointers. They'll also score 2s & 3s. 8+ at No1 & a 7+ at No5. If King's Lynn can't afford or attract those rider's, drop down a league.

  14. Why do we have a super heat ? . Who came up with the idea and why? Are there actually any speedway supporters anywhere who actually think it is a good idea ?

  15. I think Jackson is available, your welcome to give him a try!

  16. I said all this when it was first introduced. The final heat in a match that ends as a draw is the exciting crescendo - that's it! The final heat in a match that ends 46-44 or 44-46 is most likely a tense or exciting crescendo - why is that result any different to a draw? The Stupid Heat is a gimmick. The usual BSPA/L "good idea" that is accepted without any testing or wargaming.

  17. Nicholls isn't an official is he, he's just part of the TV crew, he could ask them to arm wrestle for all I care. Surely the riders, managers or referee should have told him "no we need to do a coin toss"?
    3 points
  18. I hate the superheat The reason a meeting is a draw is because that’s the right result we don’t need another heat to determine that
    3 points
  19. And then move on to guests? United could definitely do with some.... "Where Speedway leads, the rest follow".... A nice slogan....

  20. Maybe the FA could adopt it? Add a bit of spice to the coin toss for ends 😀

  21. He is probably Clark Osborne?

  22. The big question this morning ! Forget the fantastic racing at times last evening. What will the SCB do about Mr Nicholls ? They might be asking questions to the referee and the Clerk of the course and maybe Phil Morris as well.

  24. Glasgow will want Plymouth to take points off Poole, to help Tigers finish top!

  25. Your cheating the home fans by having him missing half the season.Like I have said before it’s just a circus nowadays.IMO

  26. Don't see how you can plan for heat 15 with a super heat in mind. Whether you are in front or behind you will surely be targeting maximum points from heat 15.

  27. yes he was gifted a point when Jeppesen fell in his first ride where he moved at the start then missed it (and had a warning from the ref after the heat) but after that he was in the mix every race. Another couple of meetings and he is going to make a lot of doubter's eat there words.

  28. I stopped attending KL after the fiasco a few years back against Leicester when they only had 1 ambulance at the track and the meeting was held up for over an hour before being abandoned... I then gave them a reprieve when they ran into difficulties after the Brady/Laguta issues to show some support and solidarity and started going again, only to be rewarded by going over from Leicester 3 times last season and not seeing a single meeting raced... needless to say they are back on my banned list again.

  29. But why only add to the value for money if there's a draw? What's so special about that result, which requires an extra race? What about a team only losing by 2 or 4, and earning another race to try to win or draw? Some teams could go all season without a Stupid Heat, while others could have three or four. If they want to add value for money, add an extra heat (or two) to every match anyway ...

  30. Decent meeting and good comeback although it meant nothing in the end really despite getting a point. Good crowd for a tv meeting so the club will be happy kurtz was very slow last night, i wouldnt say his eyes are fully on the prize, he was trying everything last night, just ;acked speed. our frailties are certainly costing us right now, just hope they can find some form for the play offs. the way the team is built R/R will never work for us, especially when its one of the top 3 that are missing

  31. But Gavan assured everyone that you have to be wide as that is the only line😉

  32. It always looked like an away win. Yet bizarrely some people thought they still might make the play offs! 🤣

  33. Absorbing contest for once a great meeting on TV - well done both sides but heck Belle Vue needed more from the reserves and Blodorn! race of the night had to be Dan T showing Kurtz home! He’s had a tricky 2-3 weeks and that was a great win for him!

  34. What's his issue this time? Too much shale? Wrong colour? Doesn't like Monday's?

  35. Rewatch the 2019 Wroclaw GP. I think it's the best GP I've seen and that includes Belle Vue this year.

  36. You keep making nonsense up! We've already had a conversation like this on the Wimbledon thread when you tried to claim this and you were proved completely wrong there as well. There is absolutely NO doubt over Oxford's future. It's a business currently making a healthy profit, they get good crowds every week and have a lease that doesn't expire until 2032, with a high probability of that being extended if Kevin Boothby's latest comments are anything to go by. Why you keep lying to suit your own anti-speedway agenda is beyond me. Do you get a kick out of it? But why don't YOU tell us all what the speculation over Oxford's future is? Enlighten us all as maybe you know something everybody else doesn't.

  37. Thank God the people of Oxford didn't have your attitude. Oxford's success pretty much proves every single point you made as utter nonsense.

  39. Big crash at grasstrack on Sunday

  40. Why ? The SCB don't seem to be interested in a major safety issue at Poole last week,

  41. Dan is an excellent choice of guest and certainly changes some perceptions of how competitive Plymouth will be here. Darryl will obviously be out to prove a point here and put himself in the shop window for the rest of the season and beyond. It's going to be an interesting week with these two going head to head.

  42. I don't see the need for a superheat. If it's a draw, it's a draw. Not convinced you should have one for the bonus point either as that typically favours the home team. What I would do is make matches 16 heats and have 2 nominated heats, where you have to use 4 different riders. Would benefit teams who aren't quite so top heavy and give us all an extra heat. Would need some thought as to which team names riders first and 7 ride max for a rider, not include heat 15/16
    1 point
  43. There's not really any need for it but as a neutral I certainly don't mind seeing another race with the top riders. Before heat 15 last night I was hoping for that result for another chance to see those four. For anyone more involved I understand why it's seen as a farce though.

  45. Yes, I'm one of those that have proposed it. That then does at least then make it more of a "team" effort.

  46. The Tigers of Sheffield would like to thank Birmingham Speedway for two pathetic performances at Perry Barr which made our journey down the M1 worthwhile.... but mostly for lowering the average of Tobias Musielak, he's looking primed for a Owlerton return in 2026.

  47. Kings Lynn need to sign that rider FTG, he almost went through the card tonight according to the updates! So glad they got to show what they can do on a proper track with no "dodgy" refereeing decisions 😉
