Taking half a meeting to adapt to track conditions isnt acceptable at the business end of the season. Did the Glasgow riders mis-judge the track walk, did they ask for it to be ultra slick, did they even know what they were getting beforehand? Whatever it was it can't happen again, we have some hefty points deficits to claw back in our next two home meetings. Its all very well bringing in Andy Meredith to boost our GP or SGP2 chances next season but if it is affecting our core product its a no for me. Lets prep the track to suit our riders wherever possible, its brings the best out in them and allows the racers to shine.5 points

Massive well done to all the riders today who raced in difficult conditions. Take a bow . Thank you.3 points

The championship league hold all the aces, they stand together and they can control the way things go,I would love to regularly watch grand prix riders at poole but that's not going to be possible in british speedway anymore, need a structure that works for british speedway and that won't include gp riders,if bv and ipswich got to have them, then just have to race against each other3 points

I would be very surprised if Glasgow were to move up i think they have mentioned in the past they are not interested.3 points

Yes, I got a similar deal. Actually an early bird deal on a £20 ticket which cost me £18. I never understood the ticket pricing at Cardiff. 20K-30K fans paying a fairly modest GP ticket price (say £30-£40) would surely have made that meeting financially viable? We certainly didn't pay £20 for a ticket to go to the NSS did we? Yes I know all about the quality of the racing and I agree. In fact racing wise I think the Friday meeting this year is up there as one of the best GPs ever. I do worry about the future at the NSS. I can only see them getting one GP next year and to make that pay with all the costs involved could lead to tickets well over £100. Wait for the comments when that's announced. For me, the original plan of one GP in Cardiff and one at the NSS was perfect. A great day/weekend in Cardiff and a top meeting on one of the best circuits (the best?) in the world was something to savour.3 points

other than being an American I am surprised to see Luke Beckers name. I like him as a rider but dont rate him that well.2 points

Heat 1 Bomber misses the gate and can make no impression on the three riders ahead of him . Later on his usual self . Dont remember many passes after bend 2 in lap 1 until the latter heats . Thought Flint was riding inches from the fence in heat 14 to get any drive . Whatever the reasons for bringing Meredith in , we can all see the track was better before his arrival2 points

No exactly this you don’t often get to the very top by being nice! However Jackie boy ain’t there yet - if you are going to be cocky and arrogant about beating a rival you’d best make sure you don’t get out gated by two of his team mates in the most vital heats of the night! There is also respect between rivals or at least should be! It was good to see the acknowledgment after Masters has beaten him for a 2nd time! He will get there - cracking rider - he maybe will repeat what his brother did one day - just a bit of a walloper sometimes!2 points

Plenty of evidence now of teams being crippled by moving up. Having to change race night and the extra costs aren’t conducive to good business. Think the Glasgow promotion are too switched on to fall into the trap.2 points

Maybe they will give Tai one as his last "throw of the dice " for him on the world stage to get closure at least at GP level !2 points

R87 is just a wind-up merchant looking for attention. Everything that he says is complete boll*cks and as someone quite rightly pointed out, he is a liar. The contradictions are laughable. Bizarre that he spends time on a forum about a sport that he continually derides and can’t be more negative about. Such odd behaviour.2 points

Fricke is a class act in this country2 points

Unless his bike has packed up then a rider shouldn’t be retiring from a race. Do the job you’re employed to do.2 points

If i want to go to a meeting I go to the venue. What about those that are unable to attend a meeting for family or medical reasons? Nobody is asking you to spend any money on a "cheap and nasty production". I'm not aware that there are any available, anyway. You sound like a very bitter person who doesn't really like Speedway at all. But sensible people regard BSN as a superb service, which provides people with the opportunity to watch the sport they love.2 points

On the plus side: Done by 9.30pm Only 4 reruns - all for riders moving at start Track rode well Crowd around 400 On minus: Starting gate malfunction so green light starts Failure to inform crowd of team changes Burger van late (good job I stopped at West Row chippie). Overall an encouraging start1 point

Gotta say Fricke is a different animal in the UK this season, probably the best rider of the season? However he is still lacking at GP level and remains pretty much an also ran.1 point

See Pederson unbeaten appreciate difficult conditions and not an uber strong field but does he look like an unpolished gem for someone to pick up on a 5 point average for 2026 ?1 point

The rider with the best cool chill back approach is Dan Bewley who stands out a mile above the rest1 point

You deffo do, that’s a poor reply to come back with. Zmarzlik and many others aren’t cocky or arrogant, I could name you top sportsman in all sports who aren’t and got to the very top.1 point

Without being there difficult to tell and there may have been mitigating circumstances but Scott was probably safe for a point in heat 12 and Zischke had a win , probably from the gate (?) so hoping he would repeat it but I dont dispute Pijper rode very well and on another day may well have been given one or both of those rides.1 point

To be fair, that was your choice, I attended every year and always paid for the cheapest ticket available and never had anything other than a perfect view of the action. I'll say that after WBD took the event over, it seemed to be a lot less fun.1 point

Would agree only thing I see is they are heavily involved in Sponsership and are prominent people in the Management of the sport now.Race night is a major stumbling for Glasgow and Poole + financially viable if having to pay big money for Major Heatleaders.Hope Championship tells them where too go.Rider availability and guests needs sorted out though.1 point

This was your last contribution on a Belle Vue thread, way back on September 6th. Is everything ok Geoff? Hope you’re well.. Did you think it was a “cracker” by the way, Geoff?1 point

I think your right the push will be to get a couple of teams probably Poole and Glasgow to move up to the premiership and a couple of teams who are racing in NDL to move up to the championship. I fear that this will dilute the championship and make it less attractive to the casual supporter.1 point

Not a great result, but it’s a win and all to play for tomorrow night. Our team building strategy dictated that we just can’t afford for Harris and Howarth (I appreciate his was a retirement while third) to run last places. If they do, we need double figures from elsewhere. Credit to Redcar as that’s a great result. Add that to the result at Poole and the Bears are looking at a strong end to the season. I haven’t saw any team news, but I can only assume we’ll be missing Nagel tomorrow night to Danish commitments, Thompson to SGP2, Flint to German commitments and Perry to karate lessons. More guests than a Beckham wedding.1 point

He put his focus onto what is important! - the remainder of the meeting! The exclusion the moment it happens becomes a bygone so not worth expending the energy over it - seems to have worked too as I think Leicester favourites now - great effort from the Lions given the first 4-6 heats!1 point
-
Another great performance for the Bears. Hopefully they can dispatch Glasgow at home, Oxford in the KOC and the drunken sailors in the playoff semi! 👍 Shame Morris wasn't fit for this tonight as probably would have been an away win.1 point

Listening to Stead and also Picko make the meeting about the referee is funny, Leicester could do the same so it isn’t an excuse. Picko ran two 0s in heat 13 and 15 so need to look at that more than heat 14. Funny that when Rowe hit Howarth Ollie said all four back… there was only three left at that point 😂 Also, a mention to Fricke, he rode brilliantly, and not just for himself but team riding was brilliant as well to not just run away and win races, even in 15 you could see how he tried to slow Holder down so Masters has time but Masters just wasn’t fast enough so Fricke chose to help instead of overtaking him and run off in the lead. I know it was still 4-2 but great effort from him.1 point

And you're a fine example of somebody who loves to attend speedway meetings in person right? Shame you said the exact opposite three months ago....1 point

I don’t know, I didn’t raise the original question. BTW. The top riders are affordable to clubs because of sponsorship rather than gate receipts so when you raise the question regarding level of support then that needs to include sponsorship.1 point

Money is the root of all evil and finances are restricted to have one league. Travelling expenses and the present lack of fans and sponsorship would be the downfall of one league. It would make financial sense to split into North and South making a league cup where they all meet more interesting and hopefully give fans what they want.1 point
