  1. It will when prepared properly, it's far too slick tonight but there's been some decent stuff never the less. There's no "trick" bends, it's a perfect size and a pretty good shape with proper speedway shale too.

  2. Baldy, even if all the above does come to pass -- and I truly hope it does -- there will be posts from idiots, nit-picking over the smallest of gripes, rather than praising the success..........

  6. Really hoping to come here about 10 tonight and read. Wow what a fantastic race track, brilliant racing, great stadium, no issues with anything, absolutely packed out, will defo be returning again and again

  7. Well I was really impressed. A great crowd, all the facilities you need and the track looks a good shape and size with plenty of room on the banked bends. The track was a bit slick tonight and gate 4 was an advantage but I’m sure they’ll improve the track preparation as the season progresses. Great to see the riders going full tilt with no concerns and also good to see the crowd react so well to any Foxes heat wins. Looks like plenty of home support and not just folk there for the event which augurs well.

  9. Pleased to announce that Premier Sports TV will be covering the Bauhaus-Ligan once again, and I will be on commentary. First match will be Eskilstuna Smederna v Indianerna next Tuesday at 6pm UK time.

  10. Don't think he can, Shane may get a reduction on his average as he's not ridden for a few years.

  12. That's a really inaccurate comment, but what you could pick up on when Cairnes came to the line for heat 14 was that he was 100% fired up for it. So no surprise he wanted to celebrate when he pulled it off, with a real gritty ride.

  13. It says on the clubs official site that nils is awaiting medical clearance to fly as he has been sidelined by a punctured lung. think it’s unfair to question his commitment under these circumstances. Article also says if he gets the all clear, he hopes to be riding in both of Mondays matches personally, I am glad he is doing some meetings to get sharp snd , match fit

  14. Pics can be deceiving, there wasn't enough dirt imo. A big pile on the infield (ready for stock cars on Saturday) though! I'm also a bit surprised they didn't lightly water it during grading breaks. The result was too dry and slick, meaning the outside groove didn't quite work, despite some valiant attempts from various riders. Even with these issues though, the track was still pretty good for a first attempt, very smooth, and I think it has great potential as a speedway track, a good size, shape and camber.

  15. That track must be brilliant. Four track records and it’s not even halfway through yet 🥺

  16. That's the whole point though, it is a load of bollox ... they never think through the wording and potential impacts on other regulations. The only good thing about tonight and the gloriously ambiguous regulations is that there's nothing riding (sic) on the result, because the mini-league is already decided. A win for Northampton would be good to get them orf to an extra-positive start, but the Witches riders are there to earn their crust ...

  17. If you sign a rider on a lower average, Gilkes being lower than Bowes, then the teams average does not matter.

  19. Anyone using their eyes could see Kerr was not under motive power at the point the race was stopped. He should have been excluded. Wouldn't have affected who won on the night, but it did change the destination of the bonus point.

  20. Apparently he hasn't got permission to fly, following the damage to a lung suffered in the crash.

  21. Absolutely lunacy to be thinking about replacing riders at this early stage. Speedway is not Premiership football. Thought the crowd was OK, but have seen it bigger. Long season still. Chatted to a few Plymouth fans, so fair play to them making the trip.

  23. I know someone who swears an awful lot. He is a six foot four University lecturer.....Try telling him he's neither big nor clever!

  24. I know you're the biggest attention seeker since Donald Trump, but can you stop swearing and make lewd remarks? There's absolutely no need for it. It's not big and it's not clever.

  26. My gut tells me Bowes could come good, but at the moment he's trying too hard, and over riding it. He needs to relax and ride instinctively, then the results would come. Might be in need of some form of support to give him some confidence. But time maybe running out? Also... I looked at the BSN tables and it struck me how crucial loosing the bonus point might prove to be for the Cheetahs. Surely one of the other second placed teams can score 5 points?!

  27. They'd sell more Foxes pens using RR. Missed opportunity there.

  28. Oxford are a far different beast without Erik Riss. With him, they should be favourites - without him, might even struggle to make the playoffs. He makes that much of a difference.

  29. Well i set up the Firestick with the Amazon Silk Browser like said and all was good👍 mind you ive still had to write down a step by step guide for my parents to follow just incase they get confused when i aint about come the next meeting, fingers crossed they get the hang of it after using this way to watch BSN after a few meetings, time will tell tho.

  30. Tricky one, i felt Kerr should have gone as he caused the incident. Whatever the reason he was still under power though as rode back to the pits so hard to say what caused the issue.

  35. Maybe he will come in for Bowes if Bowes doesn’t start scoring points. Beau might find half a season more attractive

  39. So Joe shows some kind of form and then go to hell he’s kicked out. Can’t do the lads confidence a lot of good. Damn if he does damn if he don’t come to mind. He can’t win poor sod.

  40. British Speedway is a bit like a grenade waiting to go off. Years ago some pleb pulled out the pin and been wondering around with it in his hand not sure what to do with it. Unfortunately, sooner or later he'll drop it and that will be the end of British Speedway as we know it.

  41. I think Dean summed it up the best... "Going through the motions"..... Sadly, I would say he is spot on... Best of Luck to Northampton, I will be there at least once this season, hopefully many others will do the same...

  42. Personally I'd keep Newman & drop Bowes if they want to bring Gilkes back.

  43. Feels odd to be chipping in here before my club has even raced a meeting but it strikes me that, leaving aside the quality of the racing, regularity is one of the key things to attract and keep a crowd. Let's take Northampton as an example. The beginning of April to the end of September is 6 full months. Let's say they want 12 home meetings, as this season. It would make all the sense in the world to divide the league into 3 Monday tracks and 3 Thursday tracks. If Northampton is a Thursday track, they should run the first and third Thursday of every month. That leaves the second and fourth Thursdays for away at the 2 other Thursday tracks - let's say Ipswich and Sheffield - and rain-offs, with Mondays free to go away to the 3 other tracks. That way the local fans know exactly when there will be speedway at Brafield, and the casuals will know it's the first and third Thursday of the month. The season can extend into October for play-offs if needed, and begin in March for pre-season action if desired.
