Im Jody's dad. I dont normally respond/comment on this sort of thing, but I would like to draw a line under this NOW................. There is NO friction/tension/bad feeling or animosity between Jody and Cooper or our families......They are mates and we have known each other for several years......9 points

He shouldn't have turned left, you can see in the excellent video analysis that @Dave_minall posted he literally turns his front wheel to the left at the 14 second mark... you can't show those that don't want to see 🙈6 points

Harris is miles better than Thomson? Clashes went 1-1 at Glasgow before a Harris ef, Thomson beat Harris 2-0 at Northampton, which is virtually a neutral track, Thomson currently averaging 9.54 in the Champ vs Harris 7.67! Can't compare Prem aves, as the KOC didn't count.3 points

My concern on Cook is he has not been near since his "injury" even only living down the road which I find strange, you would think he would be down supporting his team mates.3 points

With his motocross background and his short spell in speedway it’s obviously done him the world of good to race flat track. His Instagram states on a post it was his 4th time riding a flat track bike! If that doesn’t show the lads ability and determination! Like I’ve wrote in previous posts I’ve followed him from a young age and winning a world championship round on his debut didn’t surprise me one bit. I know there’s a lot of negativity around from his last few months in speedway but there’s also a lot no one knows behind the reasons it went that way. It’s not for me to say but if they knew the real reasons then they would understand more. let’s be happy we have a Brit currently standing on the top step of a world championship representing our country.3 points

Nicholls has been fine this season so far - he's had one 'dud' at the NSS which I reckon we all thought might be the case - his 1pt at Foxhall doesnt really do justice to his meeting. a tapes penalty and exlusion and losing out whilst protecting Jenkins.'3 points

Personally don’t think it was an obvious turn left by Rushen he had daylight in front coming out the corner his mistake coming out of the corner made him drift across a little..Best wishes for speedy recovery for injured riders.3 points

You have no idea about mental issues, absolutely nothing to do with feeling sad, anyway it is a physical issue with Craig at present.3 points

People like "me" completely ruining your sport 😂 stop being so melodramatic 😂. I'd say the lack of opportunities, this year more than ever thanks to the BSPL, for young Speedway riders is doing more than me to ruin "our" sport! I want nothing more than to hand over £25 at as many Speedway meetings as possible... apologies for that. I grant you I've been let down by my statistics taken from another website so apologies for that, my bad and not intentional. But the fact remains, his bad days far outweighed his good days and his bottle had gone, that's okay, it happens and if and when it does speeding into a bend on a Speedway track alongside 3 other riders on a 500cc machine with no brakes is not the place to be, no shame in that, you move on to something you are comfortable with, which he has done and good luck to him.3 points

Ian he was 16 with 1 years experience in the sport! What about the 15 point maximum at Redcar? 13 points Glasgow? It’s people like YOU that completely ruins our sport for the young guns. He’s beat Jason Doyle while Jason was leading the GP if I remember rightly!? Chris holder, bomber, majic , Lawson and plenty more!!! he was 16/17 with no previous experience in speedway but still people like you didn’t give him a proper chance other than pick on his bad days and kept quite on his good! I really hope he doesn’t return to speedway as I’ve followed him from a young age and the talent he has on two wheels is outstanding. Speedway is 50% bike set up and 50% rider ability and with his lack of experience I am sure his bike was set up incorrectly a lot of the time. He was one of the best mx riders in the world for his age where his talent on a bike was shown by his ability. He can now do the same with flattrack as it’s not the bike set up that wins races it’s the rider riding it.3 points

Castagna might be OK at number 6 but elsewhere in the team he’s got to be carried unfortunately.2 points

To be sure I think someone would need to look at the stream. The way I perceived it was the ref had noticed Ben Barker was illegally warming his tyre by spinning his wheel in the dirt at the start ( I noticed him doing the same in one of his earlier races ). This is a disqualification incident that allowed him to go off a 15 metre handicap. However, the ref started the race with all riders at the tapes. Anze Grmek accidentally pulled out his kill switch at the start and wheeled his bike off the track. The race got to the third bend if I remember right before the riders noticed the race had been stopped. Under the rules Barker was allowed to go off 15 metres for tyre warming. Also under the rules if a rider accidentally pulls out his kill switch before the race has started it is deemed to be an unsatisfactory start and the rider is allowed back into the rerun. Both things did happen. What I can't understand was why the ref started the race when he knew Barker was warming his tyre and allowed them to go 3/4 of a lap.2 points

these are young riders on a new track. i think he went to block harrison without appreciating the amount of speed he had scrubbed off would mean that he would likely cut him up. it wasnt as though it he fenced the guy but it was dangerous riding - intended or not2 points

🤣 thanks for that, the white line proves he's not turning left regardless of actions of his front wheel. Cooper doesn't deviate from his chosen line which a rider in front has a right to choose. As a following rider it's your responsibility to be more aware of what's happening in front of them. Regardless, as I'd already said, it's a typical racing accident expected from inexperienced rider's.2 points

Rumour has it, the dust is still in the air now! Oh no wait, the track was perfect my bad 😂2 points

Thought I'd put something together just to add a touch more context to the incident. Not passing any opinions - just thought it might help add to some conversations regarding it. It shows racing lines and a closeup which shows an apparent "left turn" which some think didn't happen. Edited video2 points

"The man has undergone complicated spinal surgery. He is currently in the intensive care unit and will undergo further CT scans today for further diagnosis. I can say that his condition is serious. The young player's surgery was completed after 3 a.m. ," Zuzanna Pankros, spokesperson for the Poznań hospital, told us. "We can't provide too much detailed information, and at this point we can't even talk about any prognosis. Every hour is precious . Today's CT scan will show whether we know everything, or whether other ailments have surfaced. The situation is truly grave, and we're all keeping our fingers crossed for the young man," concludes Zuzanna Pankros. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1250038/zawodnik-po-fatalnym-wypadku-juz-po-operacji-mamy-nowe-informacje-stan-jest-ciez Truly awful. The main thing is that he pulls through obviously, but this isn't good at all.2 points

the reason Harrison was quicker out of the corner, was because cooper missed the corner, and knew exactly where Harrison was coming from and basically cut him off.2 points

2 different serious crashes Karel Prusa was on Friday in a flat track meeting- very serious crash as well. He’s only 152 points

Exactly. It was pure accident all round. Cooper's line down the straight didn't alter & Harrison was quicker out the corner. For me, Harrison just didn't have the awareness of what was happening in front of him. Everything you expect to see from inexperienced young rider's. This accident is textbook to why many argued the Premiership shouldn't be a place for 'Rising Stars' to learn their trade. Maybe there should be parameters in place for RS spots, as per:- Must have a 6.00+ 20 meeting rolling Championship average & 5.00+ 10 away meeting rolling Championship average.2 points

Feel for hausl coming in on a5pt average with the added pressure of being a Glasgow rider due to the expectation of such a progressive club. However is does highlight what great signings klima and grmek are coming in on a 4pt average.2 points

I honestly don't think it would have been over the top, the whole incident doesn't get any better the more you watch it. I think the difference with the likes of Nicki P's antics etc is his moves were more offensive, on the bends where there is air bag protection and I think are more accepted as part and parcel of the sport when they go wrong. Rushen's move was entirely defensive, on the straight and he even looked twice to make sure Harrison wasn't getting past and his reward 7 rides on the night and a bumper pay packet... where's the message to say that's not acceptable and don't do it again. He'd probably have been thrown in Poland for that, we have the rule in the book to do it and to my knowledge has never been used, but then it needs a competent ref to actually make that call.2 points

Poole can carry Bowes with no issues, they might be scuppered if a reserve gets injured but apart from that they will walk the league no problem1 point

Mulford is better than Cairns at Lynn, Ben is better than Zach at Lynn, Harris is miles better than Thomson… you know it’s at the Adrian Flux Arena and not the NSS don’t you? 🙈😂1 point

Still looks a good team even with Bowes underperforming. If it ends up being Bowes & Cairns at reserve, that's a decent pairing. Of course if they brought in a stronger 5 pointer than Bowes, the team would almost certainly win all the silverware, but I think they're still favourites to even with a struggling Bowes. If Gilkes stars for Scunthorpe, will they rue letting him go (I never would've dropped Newman), probably not of they keep winning.1 point

I agree, same with riders signing for Poole, even rookies know the expectations results, as these clubs are (nearly) always fighting for trophies.1 point
