I’m a neutral but love seeing the Scorpions proving everyone wrong, I’ve been enjoying their streams and it’s great to see the young British riders progressing. Good rides and scores again tonight for Luke Harrison, Nathan Ablitt and Ryan Ingram who some people said was the weakest 2 pointer in the league before the lad had even turned a wheel, proving again tonight how wrong people were.

Track was like a typical Glasgow lady, very wet and a little rough. Track was there to be attacked. A half hour delay and the meeting would of been complete

Speaking as someone who can declare 'I was there' (cos I was) Scotty had some good races v younger Scunny riders, but at this stage of his career he understandably isn't going to ride halfway up the fence. As a neutral, & therefore unbothered re: the result, some very good racing & Pickering was great to watch, if anyone needs a demonstration or explanation of the phrase 'full send', just watch Picko. Good nite out Friday, enjoyed it as I always do at speedway....

Can’t see Lambert doing much around this little track.but I will be interested to see how Bomber gets on if he misses the start because this must be the hardest track to pass on because it’s so narrow.

It is all a bit strange isn't it?... Quite a large part of following UK Speedway is to not take anything too seriously, and have a bit of a laugh at what is allowed to take place by those who run it... Plus have some banter and pee taking with those fans of a differing persuasion... Very serious some people...

I remember and liked that format, did it last for more than a season? It was probably stopped as I surmise that the riders didn't like it as there weren't so many easy point pickings going... and we all know the sport is run for the riders.

Simple solution. Increase the car park charge by £25.00 for that night, but give everyone who uses the car park a free ticket for the speedway that night.

No! No! No!... 15 Heats, Seven rider teams!! It's the only way!!! I remember several years ago they devised a formula which meant the best riders rode against each other more often in a meeting.. Some of the best racing I have witnessed in many, many years.. And then they stopped doing it.. ????????

Been very hard to see news of this match from Plymouth. Announced they were looking for a guest for King, on their website announced r/r but nothing on FB. Then this morning, still hadn't seen the result posted by Plymouth? Especially at a time then the Speedway GB site appears to be having issues (not posting results).

I would go for KJP, as no6 isn't the only position we need to make a change. By signing KJP on 3.53 in place of PHB on 4.50 assessed, we give ourselves another point up our sleeve to make a further change elsewhere

Track held up well and some good racing until the heavens opened. Masters apart Oxford were woeful, for Glasgow everyone chipped in apart from Hodder who had a mare , special mention for Sam Hagon who was undefeated by an opponent he was riding the outside line very well.

Really liked the 18 formula used in 93(?). Two reserve races helped bringing them on. Would probably be too expensive to run now, and we wouldn’t have enough riders. we really need to get the training track used to develop young local talent. On a related note, the training track looked immaculate last night.

Yes, there was no updater available last night. I joined the updating team towards the end of last season. They are a very friendly bunch and it is easy to learn how to create a thread and update. It takes me about 20 minutes to create the thread and fill in the riders etc prior to the meeting. Then it is receiving the texts from the texter at the track and putting the results and comments on the site. So if anyone is able to help the team, as we need more updaters, please message me and I will put you in touch with the team and get you the permissions to update.

The big thing is that the football crowd use the car park at Owlerton stadium.

People might say Scott shouldn’t be losing to youngsters but why not? When Scott was young he would have beat much older riders and now he is well into his 40s the same is happening, that’s why most used to retire, because they could no longer keep up with the kids, except in this country we have too few kids so the old timers are not under the same pressure and can ride for longer without them looking like a shadow of their younger selves. Scott is still a very good rider and riders of Scott’s age look after themselves much more than back in the day but age will catch up to you eventually, look at Serena Williams in tennis, knocked out of Wimbledon in straight sets.
