Also, well done both teams for making the final again. It was looking sketchy earlier in the season.6 points

Criminally underused as top publicity for our beleaguered sport when he was at the height of his powers. Brilliant career. Even better fuc*in dj…😁5 points

Come off it mate. Kvech had the corner, Doyle has just sent it and hoped for the best, made contact with Kvech and he’s came down. Pretty sure if you were in Kvech’s position there you’d have done the exact same thing.4 points

Doyle 😂 a desperate move from a man over the hill, and then he has the front to moan about it. At least he didnt injure Kvech this time.4 points

We’ve not seen this much overtaking in the first few races for years.4 points

Not a huge shock but I am glad he is walking away from the sport on his own terms best wishes for long and happy retirement .4 points

That was clearly Doyle fault, yet Olly Allen tries to blame the other rider. He’s done that a few times, either poor eyesight or as you say he’s biased.3 points

Glasgow deserve to lose this picking Kemp to ride at number 1. A pathetic rider with a piss poor attitude.3 points

He isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love him and he’ll always be my favourite speedway rider. Charisma, personality to burn, controversial, outspoken…everything speedway needs and is sadly lacking in the Grand Prix at the moment. His absence in the current series is a huge void they will struggle to fill. Most important of all though, he was bloody quick on a speedway bike and is our greatest ever rider. While I’m gutted I’ll never see him race again, I’m happy he has retired safe and sound and on his own terms. His body has cried enough and he at least seems at peace with his decision. He can now spend time with his wonderful family and make a name for himself on the DJ scene. Thanks for the memories Tai, we’re going to miss you. ❤️3 points

I thought it was an decent meeting, I would certainly sooner watch a meeting from this track than Ipswich, Northampton, Sheffield, Oxford, Plymouth or Poole. It was not a dust a bowl, neither was it over watered, you saw clean passes after the 1st/2nd bend on both the inside and the outside throughout the meeting.3 points

It's because Paulco, who normally did it, got fed up with peope with multiple user names posting rubbish he got fedup with the forum and doesn't even look at it now3 points

So who would be better? Always laughable when I read about certain riders shouldn’t be in the Grand Prix when clearly and by some way they are the ones of the best 15 riders in the world…. Which Doyle is Maybe we should have some new youngsters…. Erm no thanks as proved by the Ukrainian they aren’t good enough Doyle isn’t as good as he was obviously but only 1 person can be world champion and in any season riders have to come 10th-15th …. Doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving of a place If you think riders like Doyle and Fricke shouldn’t be on the gp then tell me who should be2 points

Sorry, but thats complete rubbish. Loram, Havelock, Tatum, Screen, Louis, Smith, Morton, Collins and Craven were all much better than Woffinden2 points

Fair play Thomsen, brilliant ride. BZ too concerned about Lambert, luckily for him m it wasn't Kurtz round the outside. Lambert will be disappointed but he looked properly world class this evening and is starting to develop some consistency. And he picked Zmarzlik off twice.2 points

I don't think it was as straightforward as that, yes there was contact, but Kvech made no effort to stay on!2 points

Always divided opinion off the track, but an outstanding speedway rider. Was thrilled when he became a Wolves asset in 2006 and one of my favourite memories will always be the 2009 play off final win against Swindon, which both Tai and his dad (despite being seriously ill by that time) played a huge role in. Absolutely the right decision though. Tai had nothing left to prove.2 points

It is irrelevant what anyone thinks, it will be postponed if England beat Norway. The only sensible thing to do.2 points

Seriously who's going to watch a football match on TV, when you could go to speedway: to see, hear, smell, feel the shale on your face, and enjoy the banter. No contest in my mind!2 points

I think I’m at the point with speedway now where I don’t care about home advantage. I think the best possible track prep for overtaking should be undertaken for each race. I would rather see multiple overtakes and great racing than gate and go and the home team wins. If you are a good enough team you should be able to win on whatever track if it’s prepared correctly and for racing.2 points

Tremendous level of sour grapes there, kudos To say there was no passing is nonsense Heat 4, Thomson gets third on the line almost second Heat 6 Grahn and Foord passed and repassed Heat 9 Paco on Allen Heat 10 Dan on Allen heat 14 Edwards on Cluff, Paco on Scott Heat 15 all 4 riders changed position at one point or another With a few other exciting enough races thrown in with Klindt buzzing about Thompson in 13 amongst them I’m not saying Armadale is gonna be confused with Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz anytime soon but to say there was no passing is laughably wrong.2 points

Couldn’t agree more with you. I’ve banged on about this before but been told it’s not possible. Obviously too complicated this speedway business. To think they found a covid vaccine in a couple of months….2 points

All this talk from the Ipswich promotion about 2027 being ‘the’ season makes me smile. The sport is on crutches in the UK and hobbles slower each year into the next season. If the Witches can assemble a decent team I hope for all of us that they are competing in a league that has some credibility.2 points

The good: choosing to take the gates in heat 15, Tate looked properly on it, Cluff was decent, Mario superb even with the fall in his first ride. The bad: got pumped, Drew Kemp (just fire whoever booked him, he was always going to be useless), choosing gates 2&4 in heat 15 when 12 of 14 heats were won from 1&3, putting Bomber from gate 4 where there were 0 wins all night. The ugly: Cluff celebrating whilst a rider was lying motionless on the track. Really, really poor, especially as he’d ridden past Kevin twice, so he can’t blame it on ignorance.1 point

More natural riders on a bike some of them yes but none got three individual world titles.1 point

Honestly the amount of garbage I read about who shouldn’t be in the Grand Prix I want the best 15 riders in the world … the GP challenge means you will occasionally get someone who might have one good meeting and qualify but I don’t want a young Pole or whatever just to ‘shake it up’ Doyle will probably never win another GP and of course he isn’t as good as he once was but he is in amongst the elite and to say he is not worthy of a place is crap1 point

lambert looking strong, think he's the one to bother Kurtz and zmzarzlik.1 point

There was presumably a good reason why they changed from Dirt Track to Speedway in the early 30s. The longevity of the name suggests that it's been pretty effective. Any way, changing the name is akin to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, so expect the BSPL to be right on the case.1 point

Chris Louis leaving was a disaster for Ipswich. This guy Coleman is like when Posselthwaite went into Reading and changed everything which ended in tears. He wont be here long and soon realise he cannot change things in British Speedway.1 point

Agreed Mike although the number of semi wealthy businessmen willing to step in and underwrite a speedway track for 50k-100k losses every year is getting very much smaller. I do think the sport is sadly beyond saving in the UK in its current form. That's not to say it doesn't have a future but I'm more and more beginning to think its going to take the current model finally dying before something new (and hopefully better) rises from the ashes. The last live meeting I went to was a world team cup round at Lynn years ago I only went as Billy Hamill had come back to help the USA out and the place was packed to the rafters so support for meetings that generate interest was there. I will say whatever comes next I don't think it will be a team sport maybe 5-8 well promoted individual meetings across the UK might be the future with getting some legends back for demonstration races. That said I think the sport will limp on for another 5-10 years in its current form but sadly the product/presentation will just get worse year on year. Pray god I'm wrong and somehow Mayfield or someone else turns it all around.1 point

Only problem with that statement, you do know that the Poole track has very little shale on it, so you definitely won't feel shale on your face 😜 maybe dust early on before the blue groove appears 🤣1 point

Nick Morris sidelined by trapped nerve. Luke Killeen guests. Plymouth have Troy Batchelor at #1 for Danny K, and will use r/r for Ben Barker at #41 point

They just made that mistake, I’ve just come to the conclusion after over 10 years of British speedway following that it’s the most inconsistent motor sport I have followed, not many consistent performers in both leagues , great to have a high scoring number 1 but comes at a price, a 6 or 7 av number 5 or 3 will always be up and down, meeting was lost after first round , no momentum for bears and no pressure on monarchs and they had their best match of the season on a track that has minimum passing opportunities, run that meeting again tonite would be a different outcome, that my friend is uk speedway and why we follow it1 point

I’m sure majority of the forum have the same opinion of yourself. Anyway the speedway. Rather unexpected result, not sure if we were just really good or Redcar were really poor, bit of a mixture. RIP the dale burger van.1 point

Unfortunately not all heats are there. But what is there shows it was certainly a very good meeting, and a real shame they couldn't be bothered to televise it.1 point

That's exactly what it is, nobody cares, especially about British Speedway. Rider's who have decent contracts in Poland see British Speedway as pocket money, it's no longer 'a wage'. Do folk through the gates even cover riders salaries now or is Sponsorships the main provider? Lap of honours, do they serve a purpose now anyway when fans can't hang over the fence for high 5s anymore? That was a pathetic thing to ban. One of the very last things in the sport that had that close interaction between fans & riders.1 point
