100% disagree with that. I'd argue it's better to have a weak field that qualified than a strong field who got seeded. Problem with using averages is some positions are harder than others, riders could miss difficult meetings through injury, Zmarzlik's team mates don't race against him or are they in fact hindered by finishing behind him if bonus points didn't count. I do believe it would be better running the GP challenge after the final GP, top qualifiers vs bottom GP riders for the remaining spots, probably more chance of the top riders qualifying then.

I keep seeing posts like this. Why wouldn't we run? The facilities are being continuously improved, there are a lot of sponsors on board, and the ultimate goal is to get the stadium to FIM standards.

Kvech is better than the majority of the riders in that GP Challenge tonight.IMO

The grahn pass was the hardest for him. The rest of the races he was just trying to slow down the riders to help the other rider pass. He was interviewed afterwards and his mechanic said he'd counted how many times he looked over his shoulder in one of the heats. On one lap alone, he looked over 5 times. Good team rider to have and you dont see that often

That was a good meeting. Enjoyed it and it proves a point that the Poles can be vulnerable. Thanks to both teams to providing a competitive nights racing. If only these international meetings could take place in the u k like it use to happen back in the day. Dream on.

How many people are you expecting down genuinely? You’re constantly bleeting on about poor numbers, I’m sorry you need your eyes tested. Granted yesterday’s crowd wasn’t as big as usual, but the crowds every week this season have all been good. Way you go on, you’re expecting 10k.

Your wrong about this, the track was watered yesterday as I watched the tractor waiting for the riders to finish there track walk but then I think it was the meeting sponsors on a track walk delayed the watering until they moved out of the way this was about 5.30 so that's when the track was watered. The weather and drying wind just dried it out. I stood on the back straight and there was zero dust there, obviously not saying there was no dust as could clearly see there was but just stand away from the wind direction. Bar the results no one can complain of the quality of racing the last two meetings as there has been more passing than most tracks see.

Read the piece with Richard Coleman in the Speedway Star yesterday and on paper at least, he talks sense. The problem is that whenever 'new blood' comes in, they generally pick up these issues straight away because they're so obvious but they get met with promotors sticking their fingers in their ears as they're happy to continue as it is. We can only hope that he has more success than those in the past. I agree with his view that there needs to be a greater gap between the top two divisions and I get the impression that with the Poland + 1 league rule next year, he rightly sees that as an opening rather than a threat. If you have riders in Poland with Britain as their 2nd league then surely that reduces the need for fixed race nights so I don't see why Poole and Glasgow for example couldn't step up and keep their current nights. With a bit of co-operation and planning you could avoid the majority of fixture clashes. A TV deal would obviously be a necessity for that but the opportunity is maybe there with TNT again. From May next year they'll be without Champions League, Europa League and Conference League football so there is a gap in their schedule and presumably budget to spend. Go to them and ask if there's anything that could be done to encourage them back on board. BSN do a good job but they're preaching to the converted and having TNT (or whoever) involved as well should open more sponsorship doors.

Going to need a 14-16 point lead to take to Leicester to have a realistic chance I think. Not likely but we’ll see.

Tend to agree. Not got close in any away meetings this season (except Workington and Poole in the KOC). Hopefully improve in other competitions and keep the run going when at Plymouth in the cup final.

Unfair to criticise the Qualified riders.Its the system Thats flawed.

There is only 5 points between 5th & 9th place (excluding Holder who will get a wildcard) with 4 GP's to go, that covers Woryna, Madsen, Fricke, Dudek & Thomsen. Three of those will likely fill out the top seven. Lebedevs and Doyle, a further six and eight points away, would need a couple of finals, unlikely on this years form, to feature in the seven. Thomsen is having a great season all round but will run out of GP's if Holder and Bewley are back for the last two. Unless the 4th wildcard comes into play from SEC duplication (and he gets it), or Freddie retires he will miss out unfortunately. As regards Kvech, who also will not make next years GP's he is a younger rider (for the modern age), having a great season and still on the improve. Highly likely that he can be a GP regular in the future.

A bit of both but he attacks the track and uses a line out by the fence and gets some great speed ,and is always willing to stop and have a chat with the fans,whatever it takes he should be a comet next season.

Kvech has done 5 GP:s this year as a series reserve. Didn't do well in the first two but reached semi final on the last three.

Vinny definitely should be riding at reserve, I suggested dropping Jakobsen when he was still on his 5.00 average, but got a few replies saying he had promise.

Speak to your recently acquired Poole friends and they’ll tell you what you’ve just spotted has been going on for years so your doom and gloom about the future of the stadium and surrounding area isn’t news. As I said, your attempts at bringing down the team and the stadium say everything about you and nothing about Poole.

Batch had a bad night but u can see in the pits he was working on 2 bikes and heard him say he has ordered a new engine,and ofcourse he turns up week after week,give him a bit of slack.

A 28 day contract is a minimum of 28 days. Hence Redcar signing Nicolai Klint on a 28 day contract and he stayed 15 weeks.,

Running speedway at Arlington is just an aggravation, they would just be happy to make money out of the stocks, add in the fact that Ian Jordan took them for a lot of money and its a big no.

Very reactionary from you on the back of a few bad results. I, personally, wouldn't have changed much in comets team. Cook was the biggest gamble going and it failed. NHJ is struggling in his first season but id have him back next year on his current average. Batch has been our best rider of the last few season, started this season really well, and has been poor for past few. On his average last season, less than 7, I'd have kept him. Especially as a third heat leader. You just seem to be judging everything on hindsight, and that isnt realistic

Poland v Australia is THE International Match of the Year - as it is the only one official speedway test match in 2026 worldwide! I am looking forward to it. A match with two full teams going head-to-head I like more than the upcoming 4-team SWC final in Warsaw. Wouldn't it be a good idea to revamp the World Cup with the top four teams contesting two semi-finals on the first day, followed by two finals (for bronze and gold) on the second day. Two days of racing, four 15-heat matches with full teams. I'd like to see that. This should be held in a three-year rotation. First year the SoN (pairs) with as many nations as possible, second year the 4-team World Cup (with ten nations, two semis of four tams each, plus the top two seeded to the final, as we have it this year), and in the third year an International "Test" team championship with only the top four nations battling it out in two semi-final matches and two finals (see above) on two consecutive days (Friday/Saturday) at one location. A bit like what they have in Cricket with the T20 World Cup open for all nations, then the ODI World Cup for only the better ones, and the Test Championship for the true elite. I'd love to see such in Speedway.

Bandits made hard work of that. Not a good omen for the KOC final. Good to see the Bandits top two in the points as well as Reid Battye after his struggles at Oxford on Friday. Jordan Jenkins clearly not 100% fit and missed the post meeting victory parade, being treated in the medical room. Track looked dry and the dust was flying. Had a good watering after a few heats, and it made some difference. Plymouth on the whole were quicker from the gate, but they are used to a dry, dusty track, so no surprise. What did surprise me was Plymouth not putting Barker in heat 15 instead of Nicholls Good to see so many Plymouth supporters in attendance and they were certainly in good spirits in the Black & Gold after the meeting. A decent speedway meeting with some good races sprinkled amongst the gate and go's. Highlight was Kildermand v Nicholls in heat 6. I and many others sat next to the start/finish line were convinced PK had got the win, but the transponder said different.

Couldn’t have said it any better. We’re in a position that we are because there doesn’t seem to be a massive amount of thought behind the teams we put together. In terms of riders exceeding their average, the comets very rarely seem to find anyone who can do so. Thomson, Loftus, Klindt, Wood, Hagon, Flint, McDiarmid were all riders at the start of the season I would’ve loved comets to sign, as they have clear potential to exceed their average. As proven. Regarding Batchelor, The ‘new engine’ has been an issue for a while as he hasn’t been buying any new equipment allegedly. That can’t be helping performances. The mentality at Workington is now to basically expect to get beat at home as it is a ‘fair track for all riders’. Sod that, you set a track up so it suits your team and make it a struggle for the opposition. Workington 1-7 this year has been nothing short of a disaster. Losing Cook hasn’t helped and as mentioned NHJ is a failed experiment. Batchelor is finished. Tate I think has been great at times but still not consistent enough. Jonas has been a breath of fresh air, loved having him in the team. Vinnie has a limit and that’s a 4 point average. Couldn’t really understand why they had him back on something close to that. Max has done well picking up points and if he had been there start of the season (Unlucky to just miss out on average), Workington may have found themselves sitting in a more promising position. There is so much to be sorted for next year including a stronger team that looks like it has been put together by a strategy and a vision, rather than picking convenience. I for one hope that starts with Nicolai Klindt. Without knowing what the constraints were with team building, he should’ve been nailed on for this season anyhow! Hoping that Workington Comets speedway are around next year, and that the team they construct is a lot more competitive than this current one.

Thats the spirit! I know what you mean though, we have tried so many times to get Speedway back to Arlington Eastbourne, but the Dugard's just wont budge, we've stopped getting people hopes up But, credit to the Cov guys, keep on with the faith..
