  1. Flint's rolling away average is 8.00 and was only bettered by six riders who did the whole 2026 season. I'd also argue that he still has improvement in him too.

  2. Total going up quite slowly atm. Maybe the club could do some fundrasing. Like Barker could do a sponsored silence or whatever..

  3. Great to see so many fans at the Coliseum. What a turnout. The travelling support on the back straight are a credit to the Bandits.

  6. also from google.... The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) Regulations define the "white line" itself as the official boundary of the infield. [1] The rule book phrases it with strict technical phrasing under two specific rules that work together: The Infield Line Definition (Rule 05.1.4a): It states there must be "a continuous line to define the inner edge of the track circuit." The SCB formally interprets this white painted line as being part of the infield itself, meaning the precise "inner edge" of the racing track is exactly where the dirt track meets the outer edge of the white paint. [1] The Point of Disqualification (Rule 012.1.11): Because the white line counts as the infield, the regulations do not require a tyre to cross 100% over the line to be in breach. The rule strictly penalizes "a rider whose machine crosses the inner edge of the track with 2 wheels." [1, 2] In practice during a referee review, if any part of the tyre tread simply touches the painted surface of the white line, that wheel is legally deemed to have left the track. If both tyres touch or cross onto that white paint during a corner, it triggers an immediate red light disqualification, unless the safety or crowding exemptions apply. [1, 2]

  7. I also said the the white line is the infield and this has been confirmed, so once again where the track meets the white line is the inner edge of the track and once again the inner edge of the track cannot be crossed, you could make the white line 10 m deep if you want, the inner edge is where the brown stuff meets the white stuff

  8. I’m going to be as plain as I can be and try to be as unbiased as possible rule 012.1.11 a ride whose machine crosses the inner edge of the track with 2 wheels must be disqualified. 05.1.4 infield a) a continuous line to define the inner edge of the track circuit. now nowhere in the rule book does it say about crossing the white line with 100% of the wheel, ok that’s fact also the white line is the infield (as confirmed by the SCB )so if at any point the rear tyre touches it then that is a disqualification. the inner edge of the track is where the track meets the white line, so anyone who has stated he was on the line has backed my argument.

  9. Per the Regs All APD's used in British Speedway must have been previously and/or currently Homologated by the FIM. Replacement Inflatable APD's must be Grade A+. Inflatable APD’s must be inspected 7 years after installation, thereafter annually by the SCB Track Inspectors, to certify that it remains fit for purpose up to a maximum of 10 years. Non-inflatable APD’s will be inspected during the 3 yearly Homologation inspection

  12. Should the Championships fall in line with other European Nations and ride 125cc, 190cc, 250cc/500r and 500cc classes? The 125cc/150cc classes are presently mixed and flawed beyond redemption. Many of the 150cc bikes have their seals broken and would be found oversize if used abroad. The SGP4 is specifically for 190cc bikes and are not presently used in any UK competitive racing, so how can any British riders compete without the experience of riding them?

  17. And now because Belle Vue are riding on the Friday , Redcar have switched the silver helmet to a Saturday which I think is the wrong decision , the field announced thus far is hardly the strongest but why not switch back to a Thursday evening. On a Saturday people do a lot more other things and the boro fc will have played at home on a lunchtime KO so a lot of fans will have attended that and be in the pubs straight after the game , I for one now won’t be attending the silver helmet as I have a prearranged night out on the sat following the match , the Thursday night ( which is Middlesbrough and Redcars original traditional race night) I’m completely free and would have attended the silver helmet , another British speedway promotional own goal , no wonder the sport is struggling to survive.

  23. I'm not a huge Anders Rowe fan, but I think at number 3 with a solid 1 and 5 and a solid partner, he would be fine. If the points limit is 40, then the below team would do well. I was very surprised at how low Palovaara's average was, so I would say he was a bit of a steal. Could also go with Jake Allen or Jody Scott at number 3 instead, but I just don't see Jody at Glasgow next season and I'm not sure how well Jake Allen goes around Ashfield? 1 Chris Harris © 7.93 2 Victor Palovaara 5.64 3 Anders Rowe 6.39 4 Mitchell McDiarmid 5.53 5 Dan Thompson 7.55 6 Anze Grmek 3.56 7 Freddy Hodder 3.31 39.91

  24. The rule book states nothing of the sort. The part about the inner edge of the white line being the infield is your own interprestation. I never said Wikipedia was accurate. I said that I'm not the only one who thinks it - as Wikipedia is not necessarily proof. I chose my wording deliberately with that in mind. I've watched the video now. It's been posted on this thread. It changes nothing. This post states it clearly. In case you need a link, here it is. SGP - FIM Speedway - Rules If a rider crosses the white inside line fully with both wheels or leaves the circuit, they are adjudged to have retired from the race – unless they left the track to take essential avoiding action (e.g. to avoid a fallen rider). Or are you all going to say that FIM rules are different? In which case, I give up!! Now, who's got a link to the cheating Pirates and their tyre warming?

  25. It's all ifs and buts, if Lewi Kerr hadn't got injured or Jacob Hook rode instead of Jordan Jenkins, there also wouldn't have been a super heat
    1 point
  26. The reality is that because the regulations do not define crossing, then your interpretation is no more valid than anyone elses. Using your interpretation then surely the part of the wheel closest to the engine 'crossed' the line first, but obviously didn't touch the line. As the reg doesn't mention touching, then it could mean any part or all. As is often the case, the speedway regulation is open to interpretation and needs to be re-written

  27. There was me thinking we had a speedway rulebook, rather than AI, Google or Wikipedia (none of which are known for their accuracy). If you don't want to listen to me, fair enough. But I suggest that you do listen to David Howe - a former rider and current team manager - who might understand a bit more about track limits and when and where they are exceeded. And just to clarify, since I realise you haven't even bothered to watch the video, the screenshot on the Scunny website shows the clearest image. The back wheel goes further onto the centre green in the following frames, but they're not as clean an image. I really would recommend watching the slo-mo video from the rear angle instead. It's on BSN, when they are interviewing Josh Pickering. I would also recommend watching Heat 8 from the first leg and the blatant tyre warming. Without that, the tie would have never gone to a Super Heat in the first place.

  28. I'm not adding it - I'm using it to help you understand what crossing a white line means. I have no comment on any tyre warming for the simple reason that I have no idea what that is all about. I never watched either match. I just looked at the photo on the Scunthorpe website after reading the comments here. Let's see if Google can help. Ooh, look at that! Same analogy as me. Same word - "completely" - as me. And they are not even Poole fans. And neither am I.

  29. The inner edge of the track is where the white line starts, ok? No mention in the rule book about crossing the white line. If you cross the inner edge the rider should be disqualified. so if a rider touches the white line with both wheels he has crossed the inner edge, I do feel that I have explained it.

  30. Not sure there's a correct answer. Many will be on the fence before suggesting a 1-7!😂 (Sorry, couldn't resist. I hope the Glads get what they need for 2027.)

  33. That's just your interpretation. You are saying that touching the white line ( inner edge) equates to crossing the inner edge. I think you could equally interpret that regulation as crossing requiring the machine to be completely beyond the inner edge. And, on either situation, the regulations do not make clear which part of the wheel ( or tyre) has to cross the inner edge. Commonly we interpret that as the part of the tyre in touch with the ground, but the regulation doesn't actually say that. Another regulation that any competent lawyer would drive a coach and horses through.

  34. As I've already said before, Terrestrial TV as highlights is perfect as it can cut out all the bad stuff of a live meeting, in the hope that a drip feed of floating spectators will go to a live meeting now & again. For now, stick with BSN for the already converted. Personally, I'd much rather British Speedway moved to YouTube. That way, you can have Live shows, call ins, interviews, Q&A's etc. Then have 3 Live meetings every week, from each league, all on the members only. That way, it's all in one place & there can be something for everyone.

And what if garrity took the rap for someone else which I don’t know if he did or not but it’s certainly been a story floating around since he went inside and another story floating around is he already has a team place in the prem for next season, I don’t know if that true either but if you don’t like the fact he will be back in British speedway then don’t go and watch when he rides

  47. Racing is only a small part of it though. The racing in the 70's was no better than now and if it was just what happens on track then Workington, Scunthorpe, Glasgow and BV would be bursting at the seams for every meeting. It's a jigsaw puzzle with loads of bits missing - irregular meetings, doubling up, guests, flimsy call offs, lack of variety, poor presentation, no atmosphere. Most people will want a professionally presented, VFM, enjoyable night out and that really shouldn't be difficult to deliver.

  48. I was at Terry Kelly's place a few weeks ago, he's exactly the same as when he was racing, still mad as a hatter and still riding bikes fast (road ones), he's a roofer in Manchester and is still a good laugh, what a character.
