Glasgow V Poole Championship Final 8/10/23 6pm
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think he probably meant only two riders who were decent on the night. -

Are you suggesting the bloke who has finished in the top six of the GP's the last two years isn't 'truly world class'? In any case two out of fourteen riders being able to handle the track isn't good enough. That was an awful speedway meeting, and we get far too many of those in this country. -

Lambert making people on here cry I personally wouldn't have said what he did but he's not wrong, the track was dreadful. Sheffield never pulling that back. Well done Witches. -

Well done Glasgow! Would love to see them win the thing now but I fear they are going to get marmalised by those pesky Pirates. -

The irony being that the speedway at Lynn isn't particularly good any more because of the stock cars and the material they demand. -

I've got no issues with those picks personally. We'd all like the Russians back in of course but they've freshened things up and that's a good thing IMO. -

Same at Lynn. Never seen the appeal personally but bums on seats don't lie. -

Clashes with the binners playing at home on Tuesday too, presumably there was no other choice? -
Maybe the two with the most ambition, who may not see it as a short straw? Perhaps they are keen to see the biggest names who ride on these shores at their circuit.

Ipswich can and will prepare it as they like but not too grippy please, as a neutral I don't want to see riders struggling to get round. Will be interesting to see if Lambert can lower the colours of the Witches top two on a consistent basis tomorrow, I fear Ippo will run away with the first leg and then possibly the tie if not. -
To be fair it's getting harder to find photos that might stump people.

Is Lambert actually assessed or was that BSF tittle tattle? Agree on Harris though. -
REDCAR V GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP P/O) 27/9/ 23
Bagpuss replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to say I've no problem with teams celebrating victories, especially away from home with fans travelling to watch. It's like the old football cliche 'team A celebrated like they'd won the World Cup!' Defeats are horrible so make the most of the wins, that what I say. Sport is there to be enjoyed. -
Poole v Edinburgh Weds 27/09/23
Bagpuss replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That top four realistically all need to hit double figures at Poole to keep it close enough....not happening IMO. -

The idea that Tarasenko is a magic wand who cures all of Glasgow's weaknesses is fanciful. Even with him in the Glasgow side Poole would still wallop them at home and keep it close enough at Ashfield to win comfortably over two legs. I like Glasgow a lot and they would be my preference to win the thing but I think Oxford going through would mean a much more competitive final. -
Which means absolutely nothing, apart from a loan fee which is probably illegal anyway if it was ever challenged.

Somebody on here ITK said a few weeks ago that every time Laguta didn't ride here it was because Wroclaw told him not to.
