A real pity they didn't split the wild cards, one each for Wright and Harris would have been good.

The track was awesome.

Was my first visit to Leicester speedway today. Really impressed with the view all round the stadium, the friendliness off all the staff, love the golf buggy shuttling between car park and track. Unfortunately the track was dusty most of the afternoon and having been watered after heats 4, 7 and 11 things were still dusty to the point where Ace Pjiper gave up his lead in heat 12 as he couldn't see where he was going and shut off. Bit more grading and half the track was watered before heat 13 (brilliant race by the way between Cairns, Scott & Harrison) and heat 14 was run in more clouds of dust before they called it a day because 'it would have taken too long to refill the bowser'. Not sure if this was because the water pressure was low (taps in bogs were a dribble after the meeting) or if the pressure was low because the bowser was being filled but it was a bit unsatisfactory despite the result having long been decided, another dose of heat 13 would have been nice. That apart really enjoyed the afternoon out. Real shame the refreshments outlets were cash only as they missed out on my custom and most of those with me, card machines are surely a given a quarter of the way through the twenty first century. Great little speedway venue. Will be back. EDIT just seen @flagrag 's reply regarding water supply

I'd have thought four seasons at Monmore Green suggests differently.

And the home fans can hammer him until the cows come home, that's fair enough after that performance. But it's not the home promotion's place to do that in what is supposed to be a professional sport.

Quite agree, while every word is probably spot on it's neither appropriate or professional for a club to lay into an opposing rider in their own match report like that.

Because he averaged eight and a half last year and had a decent season. But there will be the odd night where he is totally disinterested (pairs a couple of years ago) and that's the risk. He'd never be in any team of mine but his ability when he can be arsed gets him jobs.

I wouldn't be dropping Kerr, all the seasons he has ridden in the second tier over the years tell you that his scores won't stay low. As for King, why would he leave Redcar while he is settled and happy there? -

As it is it seems they needed to win to be sure anyway but the bigger picture would be to give Killeen five rides for his development of they didn't. People will disagree with it of course but I can see why that would have been done if they were through regardless. -
Not for me. While it would be lovely for a Norfolk lad to be a multiple world champion, it's a big issue for me that almost all jeopardy has been removed as we already know who is going to win the series and probably will carry on doing so until Bartosz retires. Would be the same whoever it was. Phil Taylor winning the darts every year was no different. City winning the PL too.

Playing Devil's Advocate, on this occasion weren't Oxford pretty much through anyway even if they lost ie as best runner up (as Poole are now)? In which case no need to restrict Killeen's rides. The bloke is obviously not a very good TM but sometimes he gets clog when its not necessarily warranted. -

There's a reason Sheffield have signed Sedgemen and Kerr.

I don't think anyone from Lynn has blamed the track for the defeat, if anything it helped us get a very respectable score considering Ipswich's power this year. But those who paid for an afternoon's racing and got a blue groove are perfectly entitled to criticise from a VFM point of view. It's unusual for Foxhall and there were obviously meteorological reasons for it so hopefully lessons will have been learned. Telling people to deal with it doesn't really help anyone going forward.

I can't imagine that Lahti or any other riders not based here for that matter have any interest in riding in the UK at the moment.

There is also the point that people are being forced to pay £30 even if they want to leave after heat 15 of the main meeting.
