King’s Lynn v Sheffield 01/06/23
Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The camera angles must have been deceptive then because there was a very decent crowd and the car parks were full. Many more people there than a couple of weeks ago. -

The difference is you have a home track where you can get away with missing the start, we absolutely don't. The best meetings I've seen at Lynn in recent years are those where the track has hardly anything on it and is dry, not dissimilar to some Polish tracks. Anything more than a little bit of material and it's too grippy. Great for stocks but not for good speedway. -

Which is never going to change while Buster fills the place with stock car fans once a month. -
Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...

Teams haven't even ridden half of their fixtures yet, hold thy horses. Pre season predictions are just a bit of fun anyway, no idea why people get their knickers in a twist about them. -

I'm sure he was and good for him, he was excellent. However let's not pretend he was sacked when he shouldn't have been or harshly treated. He was poor at the time having got into a rut and needed that change to kick start his career again. Really happy to see a Norfolk boy back to his best. -

Definitely a bigger crowd tonight, no question. Car park on back straight rammed. -

Don't blame him! That was horrendously bad. Awful out of the gate and not aggressive enough either behind or in front. The two new boys showed encouraging signs but the rest should be doing much, much better than that. Morris tried hard and can't fault him for effort but you fancy Klindt would have fared better. And the racing was dreadful. Massive improvement needed next week. And the idea that the club could afford both Laguta & KK is pure fantasy. -

The track's not even that grippy, its just the garbage they use on it. It's been much, much deeper than this in the past. If we used the stuff Belle Vue do for example the racing would be much better. -

I can't comprehend how a team can be so dreadful out of the gate on their own circuit. -

Kerr not being at reserve is a bonus, but Bellego missing is a big plus for Sheffield. Morris for Klindt probably equal. Laguta is exciting and will give the club a lift but certainly isn't a magic wand, the reserves concern me and there are still riders in the side who are inconsistent and go missing. With how well Sheffield seem to ride the AFA it's hard to see past another win for them but you never know -

Complin has got to be doing better than that. -
And Tai Woffinden. Have to mention them all if any, I'm sure it was a genuine error on Skidder's part.

Pickering put a picture on his Instagram yesterday of him in different team's race suits, I assume that's what is being referred to. I took it as a joke. If as suggested he isn't going to be fit for a month then he can have no issues with bring temporarily replaced. Which I don't think he has anyway!
-
Nail on head. Which has been said many times yet folk just don't/won't get it.
-
KK has all his British stuff for sale by the look of it so I don't think he's going anywhere else any time soon.

Belle Vue -V- Wolves day/night

Gate one for Masters in heats 13 & 15 proved crucial. I'll never be a huge fan of Monmore Green but it was very watchable tonight. Two good contests across the day by the sound of it -
He's scored pretty well in Poland so far, they aren't going to sack him if he wants to race in his own country. I suspect he wasn't particularly bothered rather than they insisted that he didn't anyway.

Peterborough v Leicester 29/05/23
Bagpuss replied to scoobydoo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure why you are being so defensive. Getting passed easily would be a symptom of not being good enough would it not? Every race we saw on Eurosport showed P'boro riders busting a gut to either stay in front or try and pass the rider in front if them. Its insulting to professional sportsmen to say that they dont care, aren't trying hard enough or don't have the balls for the fight. And that's my opinion thanks -
I expect he won't be back anytime soon because he won't be fit anytime soon. Once he is he'll be straight back in. Jorgensen or Klindt most vulnerable I suspect.
-
If it's for Thomsen. It hasn't been said it will be, just that he'll come back in.
-
No idea but with how close Alex and Josh are you can be sure they will have thoroughly studied the rules before dropping him. It's a big ask.

Why does have to be not caring or lack of guts? Perhaps they just aren't good enough. From the clips on Eurosport there appears to be no lack of effort and determination. Just Leicester are better. -
Broken finger apparently. The stuff they use at Lynn and P'boro hurts when it hits you believe me.
