Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025

My own personal opinion is the person who signed him is a personal friend of cook and is trying to cover for him, he was made to bring in kemp at Leicester because Phil morris made him as they didn’t want the official press day to have this issue for all to see but Phil morris isn’t over the championship so he is using this silence to hopefully get cook out the pub(so to speak) and resume his career, which on a friend level I get but this is a professional sport (allegedly)not a rehab center for those with issues outside of the sport.the fans of Berwick deserve answers(they pay the wages remember)and have a team of riders they can get behind and the longer this saga goes on the more the fans are getting mugged

With the situation regarding Craig Cook, maybe its time the decision was taken out of the riders hands. Its fair to say Cook was never the most popular rider at Berwick, if the promotion believe that after recent events he will be welcomed with open arms then they may be in for a shock.

You're assuming that the Berwick management knows more. The impression is that Craig has just gone to ground.

In which case the Berwick management could say "we have tried on numerous occasions to contact Cook, but are unable to get a reply".

Exactly.

Berwick have absolutely been short-changed here, but I don’t think a bit of professional communication would go a miss as, like I said, the paying customer deserves that at least.

Maybe Berwick can’t say much more though. If they do could it be possible that they may not get a facility for the start of the season🤷‍♂️. Or maybe Cook will be fit to go 🤷‍♂️. Personally think it’s the first one.

If Cook doesn't plan to ride, I think the Club (Berwick) deserve some sort of explanation before the first Meeting.

It's all just a cunning plan by the promotion to get thousands of people to turn up at the press and practice to see which, if any, riders turn up on the night

Although it seems extremely unlikely, maybe Cook is unavailable for pairs but will be ready for start of season!!!!. It seems very unfair to fans who booked a bus to the pairs expecting to see Kildemand (can't predict injuries) and Cook (whose participation has apparently been iffy for weeks or maybe months) riding. Without knowing all the facts, for the club to issue a statement regarding rider participation and without much clarity only 2 days before the event seems pretty pathetic and disrespectful to the fans. Maybe it's to do with legal reasons or maybe they genuinely haven't a clue what's happening. Either way it just looks bad. Anybody put their season ticket up for sale on ebay yet?

I don’t know the ins and outs of how speedway contracts work are they similar to regular contracts of employment? Is there a specific legal reason why they can’t just cancel the contract? 
One way or another we need to move on from this debacle

Cook is an absolute disgrace and can't be pulling the mental health card - there is nothing wrong with him he is just an alcoholic. Nothing to do with mental health . Waking up depressed with a hangover isn't mental health related. 
 

He has always been a complete tosspot , was once a great rider at this level but never had the aura of a Stoney or Wilson. Proper characters who had a love hate relationship with away fans. Cook has always just been a complete emptyhead and now his speedway career is washed up, it is quite funny to think he will end up doing idiot all with the rest of his life.

That is a disgusting post, uou have no idea about mental health, I was a psychiatric nurse until I retired last year and I can assure you that a huge percentage of people with mental health problems use drink or/and drugs to deal with it , Craig has admitted to having ADHD, which my grandson also has and , they can be ok one day and head fried the next, I hope you or your family never have an issue with your mental Health, we certainly don't want another Paul Fry or Danny Ayres

I have every sympathy for people with genuine mental health problems. Believe me I have seen it and had a close friend commit suicide just before covid . I was on site the day a boy jumped off a high rise next door to the one we were building. Don't f''king come on here talking to me about mental health and how it affects people. I have seen and dealt with enough of it. 
 

it is exactly that reason why I posted what I did - there is a huge difference between mental health and behaving like he does. Use google and look up his name , its all on there.

I know all the things he does and my grandson does the same and he almost committed suicide but was found before he could do it, the symptoms of adhd are not just hyperactivity, there are massive negative symptoms, you are judging Craig by what he does, and I get that is what you see, but you don't see the turmoil that causes his actions, try and be kind instead of crucifying anyone on social media

Kildemand has a concussion why wouldn't he be back after that….
