screm
Very different day weather wise today. Thoroughly enjoyed last night and looking forward to later. I`ve seen some people had issues with getting in and issues with their tickets. I had no issues, yes there was a queue at the bar but that was to be expected. All in all a very successful night. Your only suggestion is to move it to the North East, that hotbed of speedway Newcastle, brilliant. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective people do listen to me,not enough imo but hey ho I have had some influence in the sport so not quite the bloke sat in the pub talking crap, ultimately I have the sport at heart and it’s not dictated to by my pockets Edited 13 hours ago by THE DEAN MACHINE
Shockster
Just to add my two penneth after attending last night. First and foremost a great meeting and IMO that's the main thing. Now the issues. I was standing on the back straight and getting in was an issue. Had the Belle Vue app on the phone and got to the gates and it wouldn't open. The staff there told me this had been happening a lot and others had either gone to the ticket office or it worked the further you walked away from the stadium. I got out of the car park and it worked and opened on the road. Went back and it wouldn't scan, so they manually had to key in the barcode. Drinks we knew would be a queue, but this was a daft queue, so didn't bother all night. Final thing was it was very hard to hear the announcements. So just a bit niggly and hope it improves tonight. Racing tremendous and that's what i'll remember. 👍

Be interesting to know what influence you've had, genuinely. I've gathered you used to ride, think I know who you are but that doesn't matter, I've admiration for anyone who can slide a bike round a shale oval. I always wanted to do it but for various reasons didn't get the opportunity, shame really as I could've been a contender in my own mind. I’ve done just about every job in the sport, raced, mechanic, engine builder, SRA representative, I’ve prepared tracks, I’ve promoted a meeting,I’ve been a shareholder at a track, I’ve even been the medical cover for a season, but most of all I’ve been a fan all my life and I am now a fully paid up member of the man cave where ex riders, mechanics and generally old men chat passionately about the sport while drinking ridiculous amounts of tea and making parts on the machinery there lol

Behave, like your previous comment embarrassed for you,

Behave, like your previous comment embarrassed for you, Can you tell me where I said belle vue was a shambles ? All I’ve said was it shouldn’t be at BV, I don’t have a problem with BV I go to some league meetings there but the GP needs to something extra/new but the only embarrassment seems to be your inability to read a thread and respond accordingly, my experience of BSB is through work association so I see what it’s all about but I will be going at some point in the future because quite frankly it sounds like a blast even though I don’t watch any other sort of bike racing Edited 12 hours ago by THE DEAN MACHINE
IainB
1 hour ago, THE DEAN MACHINE said: Yes because the organisers scaled back massively the entertainment and moved the main focus away from town center, as I said in an earlier post if you had bothered to read Cardiff had run it’s corse and needed a change but belle vue wasn’t it unless the organisers made an effort and actually created a small village maybe on the fields opposite the track with stalls, beer tents, bands or whatever but made it an event not just a meeting Went last night, really enjoyed it, will be going again tonight. was it a brilliant speedway GP? yes... was it an event? Not for me, Cardiff was an event and attracted people from far and wide, speedway fans and non speedway fans. I've been to a few GP's in Denmark, Vojens & Parken, I went to Vojens as a Speedway pilgrimage, I went to Parken for the city and event. I'd go to Parken again in a heartbeat, couldn't see myself back at Vojens likewise Horsens never attracted me. Last night was very much like just being at a speedway meeting, something I'll be at around 40 other times this season. WBD have been a disaster for the SGP series, I don't know what it is, there just doesn't seem to be any fun around it since they took it over. IMG/BSI made a bit of a carnival of it, couldn't really say what positives WBD have brought.
Neila
@THE DEAN MACHINE can get what you are saying about the GP needs to be an event. Been to Cardiff numerous times and Warsaw twice, great event/ city to attend. Where belle Vue is a great track, normally go once or twice a year from Workington, but not attending the GP due to the lack of areas to socialise before the meeting and the area around the stadium is not that pleasant to say the least. Be watching tonight's GP in a Workington social club with hopefully a few fans and a few beers . Up Dan Bewley
bringbackHalifax
Half a mile from track and heavy rain been and gone. No more forecasted for next 24 hrs. Hoping for another great night. When Belle Vue gets confirmed for next season, get tickets ordered quickly as will sell out totally.
