I presume the FIM will be banning all American and Israeli riders from all of their events 🤔 I believe that Benjamin "Sprouts" Netanyahu won't be included this season...

OveFundinFan Posted yesterday at 10:11 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:11 AM I not a Tai Woffinden fan but acknowledge his racing achievements, and certainly respect his decision to drop out of this years GPs before the season started.
Phannan Posted yesterday at 10:35 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:35 AM To up the excitement level why not give michelsen or thomsen etc a go . They’d up the viewing figures. There’s always bomber. He’d probably turn up if asked.
eric i Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM Michelsen is probably the best rider outside the GPs apart from the Russians, unlucky not to get a wc. Will Parnitskyi do the World under 21s the day before the GPs?

Perhaps, but by leaving it so late he has robbed someone the opportunity to plan ahead to ride the GP season and get sponsors ready for the campaign.  Actually I blame whoever thought it was a good idea to offer him a wildcard, his GP form for two seasons was average (at best) and that was before the injury. He really should not have been offered a place.

False dawn
A more generous interpretation of what little we know is that Tai was badly injured. Then against the odds he's offered a WC for this year's GP series. He accepts in the hope that working very hard he can be fit in time. Unfortunately his body didn't quite co-operate enough to make the fairy tale come about. Just saying. Otherwise, what’s the point of having a reserves list in order?

My opinion, probably valueless, is he’d struggle to qualify for either. He’s opted out of the top two leagues in Poland and, unless there are changes, looks unlikely to race in England so he’s unlikely to be as competitive as he once was. Places for the qualifiers will be limited - is it SCB that makes the nominations? - so I’d guess that nominations will be based on future prospects rather than past endeavours

Generally I agree. But the authorities, for whatever reason, decided to give Tai a WC. Would you turn it down if you were him? The fact that he is not going to be fit enough came later and from what we hear, it wasn't for the want of trying.
topaz325
Maybe the financial side came into also, competing in the GPs requires a big budget , yes maybe he has some financial backing but weighing up where he might come in the rankings it did not make sense.
