Roger Jacobs
2 hours ago, Fromafar said: With the averages etc there are not that many options regarding lower average riders, there is just in a gulf between top end and bottom end riders IMO. 2 different levels in 1 match. There has always been a gulf between top end and bottom end riders - just look back at averages over the years. There was a time when the top league was packed full of riders who averaged 9 or 10 per meeting, and there were riders at reserve on 3 or 4. Nothing has really changed, except that league matches are on TV for all to see ...

I honestly don’t see the big deal here and think some people are overreacting. They’ve done all the team meetings in huddles etc etc. you don’t do that constantly throughout the build up to the meeting, and throughout the entire meeting do you? You’ll have moments where riders will be sitting alone in their pit chairs while their mechanics go to work. What are they supposed to do in those quiet moments? Sit and stare in to space? Some riders like to have a look on their phone to help them relax and relieve a bit of pressure. I don’t see the big issue. If they were doing it instead of joining in a team meeting then fair enough but I don’t think that was the case was it. Let’s be honest, your manager just had the hump because the meeting didn’t start the way he’d like. But it was still very early when he had his little rant and it was ill advised IMO. Quite possibly ruined any good positive atmosphere they had. Edited 4 hours ago by Aries
foreverblue
It was funny when Scotty tried in a roundabout way to get Emil to admit that his Polish team had restricted his performances, he brushed over it , didnt seem to admit or deny as you would expect. ShanoXtra
It was nice to see us win at Leicester with 6 riders 👏🏻 stops that argument about Sheffield finishing top and thinking they are the best side! They couldn’t beat Leicester with their 7 riders so no chance they are the best team in the league after last night 🏆 All you heard all season when Witches were top is that “wait until the play offs” from other teams… well we waited and only Leicester and Ipswich made it! Best two teams in the league then or still up for debate? 😉 If we lose it I’ll be disappointed but I do like Leicester, their fans, and their team / manager. Let’s just make Thursday an amazing atmosphere from both fans and good luck 🤞🏻 Edited 4 hours ago by ShanoXtra .

You only had to get the better of 3 other teams as I’m sure you’ll agree, the rest were crap. But congratulations. You did the job last night. FishersGate
1 hour ago, Steve Irving said: Firstly they ARE walking the league. They pi$$ed the semi final and they’ll pi$$ the final. Secondly, no not everyone DOES get injuries. Some are more fortunate than others. It’s pretty unfortunate to lose not just one, but your TWO most important riders at the exact same time isn’t it? Ipswich lost the biggest weapon in the entire league when Thompson got injured. At reserve, he was scoring heatleader points on a regular basis. And Doyle had started the season very well after almost a year out, until he dislocated his hip and hasn’t been the same rider since. I don't think walking the league counts as finishing second in my eyes but each to there own I guess. Injuries are part and parcel of the sport unfortunately, Ipswich were unfortunate but so we're Sheffield losing woffy and Leicester losing Becker. I wouldn't say Dan T is Ipswich biggest weapon. Your biggest weapon is your number 1 surely? Dan T is a great rider but not Ipswich biggest weapon at all. Also Ipswich didn't exactly p*as the KO cup semi final did they? Lost to a side that didn't even challenge for the play offs..again doesn't seem like walking to me.
The H Man
I thought Jason Edwards was excellent last night - really proved he is one of the best RS' available. I reckon the Ippo promotion need to send some flowers or champers to the person at Birmingham who decided to tell the BSP office that Sammy Hagon was a permanent replacement for Jason rather than an injury replacement!!

That doesn't matter at all. As a commentator he and Allen simply gave their opinion that they thought the award decision was wrong, not that it was against the rules. I also thought it was too early. marko
Ipswich played the system or maybe it suited them, they started like a train and could have run away with the league but there was no point, a top four finish is really all they needed, you saw last night what they can do when they are on it especially Emil, and that’s what counts in this modern play off system, you do enough to make the play offs and turn it on for those, you could say Brady Kurtz done the same but Belle Vue were not quite strong enough to get the job done when one or more riders were riding in a preservation state, we don’t like it when riders don’t give it 100 all the time but the reality is they can’t and the current system allows them to be like that because there is always another day, when the league was decided on who came top you couldn’t afford to carry anyone unless your team was exceptionally good, one bad result could be the difference between being champions or not. Have to say some of the racing last night were amazing, Leicester is so much better than the track originally built by DH which was dog rubbishe. If I was looking at my mobile instead of working I would get fired. If an observer like John McGuinness also noticed this, then there is definitely an issue.
