Cook was always going to be a high risk signing and unfortunately for the Comets it has not worked out. Considering their options think Kemp is a decent shout. How would you feel if you found out the person driving the train you're on has mental illness? Or anyone driving cars on the same stretch of road as yourself? Your answer would probably involve the degree of severity and its actual effect on the person as to his/her ability to safely carry out those things. And the opinion of qualified medics, and that of employers. It's a matter of context and circumstances I think you’ll probably find most road users these days suffer from some sort of mental illness of one thing or another that can affect their judgment. And that could have catastrophic effects on say a motorway. Affecting dozens of other road users. A speedway race affecting 3 others which is definitely 3 too many. No disrespect at all because it's obvious that Cook definitely still has what it takes, but his ability to just disappear when needed is just not good enough as a professional rider. I feel it's the end of his career now - not because he can't do it, but no promoter will risk it any more. In the earlier heats he was going really wide when that outside line wasn't working. Unsure where Batchelor is, but he hasn't missed a meeting for us in two years, so must be something important. More track time for Kemp is a positive though.
