Aries
Interesting reading that old Reading press release. Reading the “Eleventh” club to come to tapes in the old Elite League. Now down to Five. How sad and demoralising.

More than likely imo as the GP is now going to smaller venues, Ipswich seem to have the infrastructure for a crowd of around 10k joint venture between Mayfield and stadium owners speedworth, probably a lot of money to be made from catering etc, and the track could sort out some of the throttle jockies

As an outgoing owner, and club legend, just a few words thanking a few people and introducing the new owners, get behind them etc. That may well still come at some point but then again, maybe he’s that pi$$ed off that he’s not interested in even doing that now he’s washed his hands of it all! I was expecting something from him in the press release, that’s all I’m saying. It could be the way Mayfield wanted it Either way not a big issue imo
YeOldPitGate
Got to wish them all the best for 2026 hopefully they can move the club and more inportantly the top league forward I did just read this on the bbc website if only speedway could achieve 1% of the fruits that f1 have seen we would move on massively. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp8rz13gdx0o

The six everyone knows and Bartek Zmarzlik on a 4.50 point average... This average is based on his one match for Birmingham in 2014, and the ensuing 11 years worth of reduction for not riding over here during that time.. An extremely new rule which only six times World Champions qualify for.. (And all done in the interests of Speedway obviously).. 3

Woffy was pretty imperious when he visited a couple of seasons ago, certainly think there’s multiple rider more proven on small tight tracks than bartosz and without long straights to build speed I don’t think he’d have it all his own way
TTT
The open letter to the fans from Rich Coleman was very honest and I can respect that.

Has the regularly track man left as well or is he back this season, and what about TruPlant/ForkRent, Nicholls lot, is he still one of t sponsors. And who were his main adversaries? Or do we have to await his memoires? No idea. Only going by what I've read, and reaching my own conclusions. If I'm wrong, it doesn't make any difference to me - the Prem is still in a mess, and there's no evidence they are planning for anything other than getting through another season. I was expecting something from him in the press release, that’s all I’m saying. It looked like it was written by someone with the new owners in mind - and not proofread (or not very well), considering they didn't even introduce Richard Coleman ... his surname appears almost incidentally. On the Witches Facebook page, even Elvin King said: "Who's Coleman?". Did CL know when the precise timing of the Press Release? Since announcing the sale, he has rightly only released info when there was something he could say without compromising the identity of the buyers or any specific aspects of the deal.
JamesHarris
I seem to remember 20 years ago the then promoters of the Speedway Grand Prix bought into Reading. They renamed them the Bulldogs, threw shed loads of money on riders and didn't even win the league. The whole business model was unsustainable and a year later is all went boom. I hope for you Witches fans (assuming they will still be called that) history does not repeat itself.
