Just had an email to renew my season ticket at United for £35 a match...

Hmmmm..

£35 to watch around 65 mins of Premier League football, which is authentic, has jeapordy, has consequence, prizes worth winning, and no Mickey Mouse operating model, or £30, (or "just" £25 in the pauper seats), to watch 15 mins of Premiership Speedway without any of the attributes a team sport requires...

Decisions, Decisions...

:D

Are any clubs offering a "young adult" ticket? I heard on the radio the other night that Nottingham Forest FC are reintroducing their young adult ticket,  other football clubs seem to do similar scheme offering 25% discount for 18-24 year olds 🤔

United do...

U16 - £190 (a tenner a match)

16/17 - £275 (under £15 a match)

18/20 - £413  (under £22 a match)...

21 and over pay adult prices, cheapest is £29 a match..

And that has risen with "Glazernomics"..

Still good value though fo encourage the younger sections of society to attend...

Ipswich Town have under 19 and under 23 prices

Season tickets work out approx £9 and £13 per match respectively

My adult season ticket is cheaper per match than the speedway!!

Can't really compare though as they have so much more budget/disposable income.

Easy to compare £45 with £75 when you are the father and his two sons with the choice to make.....

Not the cost for us, the wealth of the club!  I'm sure speedway clubs would love to be in the position to offer admission at £10 but they're not.  Nor are the majority council subsidised.

The thing is surely it's better to have a bunch of 18-24 year olds in for £15-£18... + maybe burger, chips and a pint (I know some tracks don't receive catering money) rather than none at £25.

Speedway's pricing structure is so rigid, you go from next to nothing as a non adult to a massive £25 minimum as an adult whatever your age.

As a sport with such an aging supporter base there doesn't seem to be any middle ground for the next generation of supporter.
