I’d expect mayfield to look to hold a GP at foxhall next year.  Has a bigger capacity than the NSS

Agreed you would think that would be part of their plan when they took over, how much can Ipswich stadium hold ? I can remember going on bank hol mondays in the late 90's when Lynn were visiting and they would regularly get north of 5k turn up.

Who's going to pay £100+ to sit in that contraption of a "grandstand" on the home straight though? Or anywhere for that matter?

Maybe the gp will be held at Foxhall after the home straight & pit area are rebuilt

Is that planned?

Can we just take a minute to actually realise it will be around the end of June before any witches fan sees a different team at Foxhall when you realise only Northampton and Kings Lynn have raced here this season. And shock, the next meeting is Kings Lynn. It’s really not that exciting for any Ipswich fans to keep watching the same riders race round.

I believe it was spoken about a few years ago. Obviously Spedeworth run the stadium but I believe the owners are still the original Ipswich Speedway from 1951. The stands I think came from the London Olympics. I believe the capacity is around 12000, and I'm pretty sure it will be packed in a few weeks for the Hot Rod final. As for improvements, it's a lot better than a few years ago but as with everything it's a numbers game.

and ipswich had the best website of anyone prior to mayfield, Coleman may talk the talk but he seems to not like spending a penny and is always penny pinching, the cuts i seen mayfield make at the GP last weekend was mind boggling

You do realise the GP circus has been haemorrhaging money at a rate of knots in recent years Phil? I find it staggering that the likes of you AND others on here, are critical of Mayfield for tightening the budget and making cuts. That’s exactly what’s been needed for years now.

It simply couldn’t go on the way it was and we’re fortunate to even have a GP series to watch at the moment reading the articles in the Star the last few months. Richard Coleman knows exactly what he’s doing, its a pity he wasn’t in place a long time ago.

As for Ipswich, I also find it staggering he’s already getting criticised there too. People do realise he didn’t actually take over until the arse end of February? Three and a half months ago. What are people expecting? Belle Vue signed Doyle because they have a vacancy, Ipswich don’t.

I’m not sure sacking a couple of riders already to fit him back in would be the reputation they’re looking for, especially when they already have a cup final booked!

Give them a chance ffs 🙄

Yes but put on hold by Spedeworth who diverted their efforts and money to Northampton project

Still in pipeline but not sure of revised timelines

I think as soon as next year unlikely but I’d love to see a Grand Prix on a tight technical track like Foxhall!

Doyley would show a few throttle jockeys a thing or two for sure!!

Manchester have got another double header next season then the contract is done. 2028 will be the first season where Manchester holds a single GP.

Not the case at the moment. “Coleman stalls on third Aces double” is the headline in this weeks Speedway Star. The calendar is “complex” and he isn’t making any promises on a Manchester double next year.

Reading between the lines it would suggest some extra rounds elsewhere...

Maybe two in Aussie would be viable like the NSS do currently....?

The GP series certainly needs a "shot in the arm" and Mayfield look like they have a plan to follow which sees some quick impact...
